Mad og vinelovers såvel som familier og venner vil nyde den smukke historiske ejendom Casa Annunziata beliggende i hjertet af Langhe Hills of Piemonte. Huset er omfattende renoveret med et stort moderne køkken og 4 badeværelser. Den charmerende autentiske gamle karakter er bevaret med de mange ildsteder og originale synlige stenmure. Et stort familieværelse ligger lige ved siden af det fuldt udstyrede moderne køkken med direkte adgang til den dejlige have. Køkkendøren fører til en skyggefuld gårdhave med spiseplads. Det andet rummelige og hvælvede familieværelse på første sal har direkte adgang til en solrig veranda og tilbyder en spektakulær udsigt på grund af store vinduer fra gulv til loft. I midten af huset opfordrer spisestuen med en stor åben pejs fra 1500-tallet dig til at nyde lokal mad og vin. Fra dette område kan de 5 dobbeltværelser (1 med en ekstra dobbelt sovesofa og et med en ekstra futon på mezzaninen) nås gennem en central trappe samt tre af de fire badeværelser. Rundt om huset og i den rummelige rækkehavehave kan man finde forskellige sidde- og afslappende områder delvist skyggefulde. Fra den smukke store swimmingpool 11m x 7m kan man nyde den mest spektakulære udsigt over dalen. Huset ligger kun 15 minutters gang til landsbyen Castino, som kan prale af en deli, der er specialiseret i frisk pasta, to små købmandsforretninger, et postkontor, en typisk "tabaccaio", trattoria, pizzeria og en bar.

This is one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. The place was beautifully furnished, impeccably clean, very well kitted out with everything we needed. The check-in process was very straightforward and communication with the owner and local manager excellent. The area is beautiful, the local people so friendly and there are hardly any other tourists around. The local food is delicious and we highly recommend booking a meal with wine pairing from Joseph and Ann for an evening we will never forget. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Very nice house in Piemonte, with good space for family and friends.We spent at lot of time cycling in the hills of Piemonte and heading home to relaxing at the pool.Grocery shopping requires a bit of planning, as the nearest town only have basic groceries. However this will probably be the case most places in Piemonte.Finally, we used the opportunity to have dinner cooked be Joseph (Annettes local host). This was a very good experience for the entire family and is highly recommended.

This place was simply wonderful! Paradise in Piedmont. The villa was well equipped, comfortable with plenty of room for all. Joseph and Ann served us the most amazing gourmet dinner with wine. It was a glorious stay in Paradise!

Elegant villa with all the amenities of home

Annette’s villa is in a beautiful location overlooking a valley below. The rooms are very comfortable, the kitchen is supplied with all of the amenities to enjoy home cooked meals, and the grounds and pool are terrific to enjoy. Would highly recommend the meals prepared by Ann (the caretaker). We had a wonderful time and would surely return.

Excellent place for a big family holiday

Wonderful and spacious house with very well equipped kitchen and large and comfortable bedrooms. Terrific mountain view, perfect outdoor areas and a superb pool. Nice short walk to Castino, a charming small town with most of what you need.

Beautiful home with spectacular views

Annette was very responsive and the house had all of the amenities promised. Stunning views and a perfect place for a large family gathering- lots of large rooms for together time and private spaces for alone time.

A peaceful retreat in beautiful Castino

While the pictures of the property are breathtaking, they do no justice to reality. Everything was beyond expectations and our time in Castino was magical. The property owner and on local manager ensured everything was in order and made our stay totally comfortable and relaxing.

Farmhouse luxury.

Awesome views, great building with such character, lots of walks then hit the pool. Well equipped kitchen to make great meals. Very quiet. Dinner option with Ann & Joseph was fantastic. Recommend highly.

Lovely place for family celebrations

The property is beautiful and spacious for our group of 8. The views are lovely. The kitchen is well equipped and the property manager couldn’t have been more helpful. Because it is very rural, there are limited places to eat and grocery shop nearby. The main restaurant was shut for the next 4 months as was the local pasta shop. The down side is that we had to drive a lot. However the lanscape Is stunning

Dear Tina, we are happy that you and your group fully enjoyed your stay in our prpoerty and the UNESCO world heritage site landscape of the Alta Langa. This peaceful rural area truly offers a feast for all senses not only visually and culinary. wise. In 10 to 20 minutes drive you can easily reach at least 15 different, beautiful small medieval villages which all have their own typical Piedmontese restaurant. We always send a large list of restaurants, Pizzerias and Trattorias which we recommend to our guests. We hope you tried a few of those and liked them as much as we do. The main grocery shop in our village offers all you need if you prefer walking there in no more than15 minutes. Alternatively in 10 driving minutes you can reach the next big supermarket with a much more elaborate selection of Italian delicacies. I always forward a list with grocery shop recommendations to our guests. The local pasta shop is opened and doesn't plan to close in the next years. Maybe you just ran into their closing times. Italy has very specific opening times. Normally in the mornings between 9 and 12 and then only again after 4 o'clock in the afternoon, but till 8 pm. This information is also included in our guest welcome booklet. But it is a timing to which we also needed to get used to. The bar/trattoria and the pizzeria in our village are open and welcoming all of our guests. The restaurant in the marketplace has a change over. So the new owner might only reopen it in a few weeks. Sorry for that. We are very happy that you found good alternatives and most of all appreciated our highly recommended caterers, who create the best meals at the property and if desired including vine tasting. Great house, rural but not far from Alba

Lovely house, well-equipped and easily accommodating 10-12p. Ideal for 3 fams as the rooms on levels 1 and 2 have opposite bedrooms. Great pool on a nice 3-level garden with more than enough space. On the mezzanine level a fine terrass overlooking the hilly environment. We would certainly recommend the property!

Perfect Italian getaway

Excellent property in a great quiet rural location but only 10 mins walk from Castino with its cafe/bar, deli and pasta shop. Perfect for a relaxing getaway with our family and friends. Lots to see in the area - we only scratched the surface. Pool was lovely and much enjoyed, and a real bonus in the summer heat. Communications with Annette and Ann were excellent, and we were made to feel very welcome - with recommendations for places to visit and eat. A real highlight was the evening meal cooked by Joseph and Ann - which was delicious and highly recommended. A fantastic holiday enjoyed by all of us.

An impressive and authentic family home with a beautiful garden, where you can spend hours in complete privacy. We stayed there with two families and children aged between 5 and 15. There's a lovely swimming pool where you can have lots of fun, beautiful spacious bedrooms with separate bathrooms, and a beautiful view of the surroundings. A charming village with a forno and a bar is within walking distance. The charming towns of Acqui Therme, Nieve, and Alba are easily accessible by car. More experienced cyclists will enjoy the beautiful cycling routes over hills and through vineyards. Unfortunately, the restaurant within walking distance was closed all week. One evening, we enjoyed dinner with Ann and her husband in the garden. The food and drinks were delicious.

Countryside Bliss

Beautifully presented casa with multiple outdoor seating areas. Fabulous kitchen for cooks. Easy walk to village through hazelnut groves - vlllage has limited but OK cafe choices. The highlight for us was Ann and Joseph who prepared such a wonderful banquet and wine on our second night we had to ask them back for an encore ! Lovely people and nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommend as a sanctuary in Piedmontese countryside.

Italian Getaway

Great house with an amazing view. Only “drawback” is it is slightly secluded. 15 minute drive to the grocery store. But that is also it’s charm, just be aware. We had 7 adults and the house worked perfectly for us. We took advantage of having Ann and her husband cook for us while there. Incredible meal! More than worth it. Highly recommend this amazing house!

Piedmont Perfection

We just completed a week stay at Casa Annunziata in Castino. Despite unfavorable weather, we all enjoyed out stay. We were three couples so each couple had their own bathroom plus the use of the new bathroom with tub. The kitchen is well stocked which meant we were able to prepare meals although we did dine out frequently. Be sure to check out the distances to the famous hill towns. Castino is on a ridge one mountain away from the vineyard towns so there is a lot of going up and down mountains which we didn’t mind except when we had to deal with fog. We have already recommended the house to others.

It’s that time of the year, the truffle season, when the foggy views over valleys in the morning or evenings make you appreciate even more the cozy fireplaces in the house. Alongside the ride on the hilly roads you can now watch the harvesting of the delicious Nebbiolo grape. La Nebbia - The fog. Try a glass of “red liquid fog“ in the evening while indulging in one of the many hill towns’ restaurants. We were staying with a group of very good friends. The house was great with beautiful views to the north. Castino is 30 minutes away from most of the places to see in the area. So we spent mornings traveling out to sightsee and evenings hanging around the villa cooking, drinking wine and telling stories. Joseph and Anne made us dinner one evening and it was an exceptional four-course meal. The kitchen is very well stocked with respect to utensils and tools for cooking. We also used the charcoal grill for cooking. The pool had been closed for the winter season, so we couldn't access it. We did go into Castino one evening for pizza at Momito's. The pizza was very good and the place was packed when we left. Unfortunately, the other restaurant in town seems to have closed. We did not venture out to nearby villages for meals. Overall the trip was wonderful, the villa suited our needs well and interaction with Anne was easy. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your house.

We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay at Villa Annunziata. And yes, the funny 30 minutes distance rule applies to all of Piedmont as it is a wonderfully calm area with lots of things to see. A Fantastic Holiday

We can't say anything but positive feedback about this gorgeous home. We arrived late in the evening and our hosts had kindly left us some food and drinks that we had requested as we knew we would be arriving late. We were absolutely blown away by the location of the house, surrounded by beautiful hazelnut groves. A lovely stroll through these takes you to the local village, where you will meet some of the most lovely people, kind and helpful in every way. The local restaurants are also really good. The house itself is just everything you could as for. We'll equipped in every way, from games, books and dvds for all ages, to everything else you could imagine, pool inflatables, bikes, outdoor games. Our lovely hosts Ann and Joseph cooked us the most amazing meal on our second night there, providing us with local wines that we just loved. Ann was always on hand to answer any questions we had and honestly we couldn't have asked for any more. I thoroughly reccommend this home to anyone, my daughter loved the pool and spent most days in there! Thank you again and we hope to return soon!

Fantastic Experience

Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay and certainly would highly recommend. The house & pool area were a needed recluse after a week in busy cities to the south. Highlight was a fantastic six-course meal with wine pairings prepared by Ann and Joseph! This made a "big" birthday even more special. Also, I would recommend using their wine service as well. After a couple of e-mails with Joseph about what kind of wine we liked, we arrived at the and were greeted with all of the wine we ordered, which would have been impossible to duplicate from a store or wineries. Our group likes to cook and we were very happy with the kitchen and amenities. We enjoyed the stroll through hazelnut orchards to the village of Castino (do it at night and catch the fireflies!), where we visited the deli, coffee shop and yes, the ATM! Also caught an interesting match of fistball one night against another village in a street next to Santa Margherita. Overall fantastic experience and a great base camp to explore Alba, Barolo, Barbaresco and other small Langhe towns, as well as the Italian Riviera.

This was a very disappointing rental. First thing is that the directions to the location required considerable assistance to find the right location as the address listed does not take you to the right place. Further - lots of bees flies and bugs which require the use of very fragile screens for the windows and doors. The host do know it’s an issue as the property manager made a point to address this fragility in check in. After that - we were still charged nearly 10% of our rental cost to repair a screen which we never noticed or considered to be damaged nor had any opportunity to address. We did our walk through at the end of the rental and did not notice or register any anomalies yet we’re still charged based on their verbal claim. Lastly - the lower bedroom and bathroom have a significant moisture problem and smell of must. Dehumidifier has to run constantly and does not address the issue. Nice location but I would not recommend this rental.

Just Wonderful

We have just had our second wonderful family holiday here. We first stayed in 2015 and loved it. Then we thought it could not be bettered but we were wrong. The new owners have lovingly improved many things. The house is roomy, really well equipped and very comfortable. The large well kept garden is great for children. The pool is by far the best we have had at any of the many houses we have rented over the years. The pool area has been beautifully upgraded with a safe non slip stone terrace and some welcome shade from a pergola. Real highlights (as in 2015) were the two Sunday lunches cooked and served to us on a shaded garden terrace by the wonderful Ann and Joseph Stefani. Eight different plates each Sunday, from antipasti to dolci with five different wines to accompany the food. They are lovely people and the food and wine were excellent. Their local knowledge was also a real benefit when exploring the area. As a family of three generations it can be hard to find a place that suits us all. This really did. I hope it will not be our last visit.

The property's unique hilltop location among the hazelnut groves and vineyards with stunning views and sunsets attracted us right away. We fell in love with the villa's charming old elements, dating back to the 16th century, and appreciated the tasteful modernisation. We especially value the Piemontese landscape with breathtaking views over the Alps, excellent food and great wine. The property is embedded right in the heart of the famous Alta Langhe not far from the UNESCO world heritage landscape.

From the very large heated pool (minimum 23 degrees celsius) in the lush garden you can see over the valley and enjoy the stunning sunsets. The peaceful and tranquil location allows you to relax although you can reach by foot the lovely historic village in no more then 20 minutes. The perfect place to start discovering this magical territory, rich in flavours and tradition.
