Du og dine venner og familie vil elske denne klassiske hånd-hugget, firkantet-bjælkehytte. De 4 soveværelser og 3 badeværelser hytte blev bygget i den gamle finske tradition på en meget privat strækning af Lake Superior shore, INE. Den lange, snoede indkørsel fører til 5 tønder land, som du kan roame. Søg efter og finde de rigelige vilde blomster i skoven eller slappe af på hylden-rock kystlinje. Skærmen våbenhus gør for den perfekte morgenkaffe atmosfære, også. Dette hjem virkelig holder karakter af, hvad man forestiller sig en historisk Lake Superior håndbagage skal være. Mange familie minder er blevet skabt her! De ejere, der bor ud af landet og kan ikke besøge meget ofte, tilskynde lejere til at nyde deres elskede Finn House. We stayed for my birthday weekend and had a great time! The views from the wonderful cabin were amazing! The cabin was also very comfortable and the fireplace was nice and cozy. We hope to be back!

GWO 2025

Spent a wonderful weekend with my four best friends in our most favorite spot in the whole world and the Finn house was the perfect venue! The house is located right on the rocky shore of Lake Superior with a spectacular view. It has four comfortable bedrooms, a homey living room with a great fireplace. This was our 2nd stay and we're hoping to return in the not too distant future.

The setting of Finn House is spectacular, with easy access to the stone beach and so much privacy. There was an eagle nest, complete with eagle family which was such a fun bonus. Finn House itself is a perfect combination of cozy but yet spacious and comfortable. Bedrooms were quite generous in size. The house worked well for our family group of grandparents, siblings and grandchild. Listening to the waves or just staring out into the lake is always so relaxing and wonderful. We were all so grateful to have such a lovely place to gather and spend time together!

The Finn House

This was our 3rd awesome stay at The Finn House. The location is great. Love the quiet and privacy every time we've stayed here. Watching the amazing sunrises every morning from the shore or sitting near the windows inside with a cup of coffee is a great way to start the day! Already looking forward to next year!

We loved our stay at Finn House, feeling practically on the water. Even with the house closed up, we could hear the surf wash into shore. The windowside pairs of chairs was so inviting. A rustic gem on the North Shore.

Secluded and Quaint

Loved the unique construction of this home. Yes, it's older, but was clean and perfect for what we needed. It's right on the lake which is also what we wanted and within driving distance of things to do. It could use some TLC, but we were very happy with this property. The communications were quick and friendly. We did love that it was secluded and quiet. While there were neighbors close, you could not see them except from the lake or walking the beach. Loved hearing the waves crash along the rock shoreline. Also pet friendly.

Incredible shoreline in a fantastic rustic cabin

My husband, dog and I just spent a week at this wonderful cabin. We have been going to the North Shore and renting out cabins for decades. This was our first visit to this cabin and we will go back. I usually prefer the older cabins/homes as they have the best locations. This cabins property is spectacular. The cabin is cozy despite its larger size. I appreciate older cabins and loved the hand hewn structure. I will say if you are into modern shiny spaces with quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen this is not the place for you. If you like a place where you can feel there are many stories there, this is the perfect spot.

Peace and Serenity at Its Best

The natural beauty from this property is absolutely stunning. It was the perfect place for us as we were seeking respite from the cares of the world. My favorite activity was simply climbing the rocks and watching the lake, whether is was the sunrise or just a time of contemplation. We loved having the bike trail just up the lane, and we enjoyed the variety of hiking trails. The nearby convenience stores were very well stocked for anything extra we needed. The cabin is rustic as described, but had all the comforts we needed. I had high expectations for this property, and even those were exceeded.

If you are looking for an unplugged relaxing getaway, this is the place. Cabin is charming. Tucked away, right on Lake Superior. Great place to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee watching the sunrise.Located between many of the state parks and right off the bike path.Enjoyed hikes and the fall colors, and watching the eagles.Thank you for sharing this family gem.

The location and cabin were perfect! We loved the proximity to the lake, being able to go out and sit on rocks (have a campfire) and let kids swim. The bedrooms and beds allowed us to spread out (family of 6), but enjoy the beautiful family room and porches. Numbers of bathrooms was also a major bonus! Kitchen was equipped with features to allow us to cook (& grill) for whole family comfortably. The cabin aesthetic was very cozy, comfortable and felt like a home away from home. Many extra amenities were noted and appreciated: blankets, firewood, pillows, flowers, tissues, towels, books, games, seating, etc. WiFi was excellent - especially helped keep teens happy and connected. Washer & dryer were also greatly appreciated for the family. Proximity to Grand Marais, Grand Portage, Gooseberry Falls, Lutsen and countless trailheads gave us flexibility with activities. We loved our trip and hope to visit the same cabin/location again soon!

Amazing property in an amazing place! Literally the best location on the North Shore. Waking up to lake views and breezes is unbeatable. Cabin is in a great location, accessible to all that Northern MN has to offer. We hiked waterfalls, shopped in Grand Marais, canoed the Boundary Waters, went to the beach, and generally had the time of our lives. You can tell the cabin is a special place where wonderful memories have been made. We can't wait to come back!

Our great grandfather built Finn House in 1943, as his summer cottage. The logs were brought from a Finnish settlement and rebuilt close to the shoreline. His daughters loved the place, often spending months in situ. I first went in 1975 with my grandmother and father and like the generations before me - fell in love. My sons have followed suit. Until the pandemic I had been coming annually and have my artwork in local galleries. My love of trees and the wilderness was born on the North Shore, and informs much of my painting.

Back in 1943 the area was a lot less populated. Highway 61 followed a different route and had been newly put in. It was built as a summer getaway for my great grandfather, who was then president of the Northern States Power company in Minneapolis. Each generation has fallen in love with the property and surrounding area, and subsequently passed it to the next generation.

Aside from modern utilities, Finn House has not changed a great deal and retains its log cabin charm of the 1940s. Two large windows gave a fantastic view onto the lake, offering a mesmerising view at times, and others powerful wave action. The shoreline is private and includes a secluded bay and a promontory, allowing enough space to explore. Despite the feeling of privacy - the cabin is situated a couple of minutes from 61 and the Gitchee Gumee bike trail - not far from the Lutsen ski resort, the Superior Hiking Trail and Tofte and Lutsen. Grand Marais is a 20 minute drive. And the BWCAW is accessible via dirt roads inland. The hardest issue will be deciding whether to stay home or go out and play!
