This is such a tranquil spot, and perfect for a last night in MN after some time in Minneapolis. My husband loved the fishing access and caught a few bass! The guest house was modern and pristine; no worries about cleanliness whatsoever. We had no trouble accessing mobile internet. Hosts were very nice!

Return visit for 3 nights. Greg and Christie were there to greet us along with Picasso. We enjoyed the long weekend with more time to soak in the quiet time on their hammocks, listening to the sound of nature and breathing fresh air. Just what we needed! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

This was an incredibly peaceful getaway! We loved the walk through the woods, meeting the friendly pup on the property, and spending time relaxing on the bench on the dock. We hope to be back!

Everything and more

Instructions for check in was very clear. Once we arrived, we were happily greeted by Picasso (dog) and Craig. Very friendly and welcoming. The stay was everything and more. Peaceful, private and perfect to get refocused in nature. We laid in the hammocks and laid our blanket down in the yard. Beautiful views on the deck. I would recommend cover up or bug spray as mosquitoes were aggressive. We were so impressed by the night after checking out of our one-night stay, we booked for a 3-night stay. Can’t wait to return!

Peaceful and Disconnected

This loft is exactly as advertised. If you want a place to decompress and disconnect, this is your place. The lake is beautiful and the loft is very well kept. Another plus is you are only a 45-60 minute drive from MSP, so depending on where you want to go in the city, you can be there, generally, within the hour. It’s the best of both worlds. My wife and I would highly recommend this place.

Nice getaway

Overall we liked the property. This is a guest house next to a main house, but it feels very private. It was clean and comfortable. There is not a tv in the house which would have been nice to watch a movie because the weather did not cooperate. Bring your own paper towels, they only left a few on the roll! Also, bring sugar/ cream for the Keurig, but the pods are provided. We did hike on the trail and it was not mowed and we did pull off several ticks. Take a picture of the map before you go on the trail that they have in the kitchenette area that shows the trail and where to go, we did get turned around a few times but figured it out. There are a few benches along the way of the trail, but they were so old and rundown looking, we didn't want to sit on them. There is not any curtains on a lot of the windows, so it is nice and bright right away in the morning.

Peaceful lake getaway

We loved our stay. It was very peaceful and the loft floor to ceiling window to look out at the birds and field. We used the bench on the dock enjoying the lake and the birds.

Great little getaway!

Perfect for a night away! The lake is gorgeous, the indoor space is very clean and the owners have a sweet and friendly dog we enjoyed meeting. My only complaint (and this is not the owner’s fault) is that the bathroom has loft-style walls, so some on its walls are open at the top and don’t fully connect to the ceiling, which is not ideal for privacy. Otherwise the place is great though!

Did a little ice fishing. Enjoyed the quiet loft and played some cards. Would be great in the summer months with the lake. trail, and fire. It was a chilly week-end outside.

A relaxing and refeshing stay! Would return!

Once a year I go on a solo retreat. I stayed at the the guest house 6 days/5nights.It was SPOTLESS-looks just like the VRBO pics. Christie was great-quickly answering questions, & checked in a few times to see if I needed anything. The property is beyond beautiful & well maintained. I tried to captured its' essense-many pictures...Picasso the sweepup was theraputic. Everyday I played with or sat with her. I relaxed on the dock w/morning coffee & reading.For wi-fi I used phone hot spot for my computer. I wish they had a small sink in the kitchanette-going to the bathroom for water/rinsing etc. was inconvenient. An incredible stay! I like exploring new towns-all within 8-20 min. Check websites for days/times open. All antiues stores also have repurposed, new & locally made items. HOWARD LAKE-Vintage Exchange, Trouble's (bar & grill), Mocha Moose Coffee (in a gas station-not great) ANNANDALE-Homestyle Country Cafe (delicious breakfast & strawberry/rhubarb pie, Vintage Patina-it says 4,000 sq. ft.-didn't seem bigger than other antique stores), BUFFALO-Lakeview Antiques & Collectables, Buffalo Nickel Antique Mall, Buffalo Books & Coffee (great book selection/coffee/banana chip bread), The Porch Antiques-2 levels-FAVORITE SHOP), COKATO-Double Shot Coffee (large space to relax/read-fantastic coffee/baked goods), Delano-Edie Maes Eatery (american breakfast & chinese food) huge breakfast portions. There are several apple orchards in the area. Dominos & Trouble's deliver pizza.

Great one-night stay less than an hour away from Twin Cities

We were looking for a quick getaway to celebrate our anniversary and this place was perfect. Great weather to take in the trail around the property, take the canoe out for a paddle, read a little in the hammocks and then enjoy a fire lakeside at the end of the night. Greg and Christie were great hosts. Good recommendation for dinner at Bait & Hook just west of town for some seafood. Highly recommend staying there.

Beautiful spot!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. It was gorgeous, just as pictured (or more so). The place was clean and very cute and nice, had everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable. We took the canoe out and watched a bald eagle above us for quite some time. The hosts were very kind and had excellent communication. Overall would highly recommend!

Perfect place to reset!

I needed a break from the chaos of life. I was able to relax and do what I wanted, when I wanted. Jigsaw puzzle, wine, snack, nature walk, sit by the lake and yoga. I can’t wait to come back!
