Bird-Baldwin House har en rig, sydlig historie. Bygget af Lewis Bird i 1838, er det det ældste hjem i Savannah South of Liberty Street. Bird, en fremtrædende Savannah-advokat, begyndte konstruktionen, men tragisk forgået med hele familien på Steamboat Pulaski, da den eksploderede og sank ud for North Carolina-kysten den 14. juni 1838. Bird mor afsluttet huset og solgte det til hans lov partner, Mr. Baldwin, der levede i det i mange år.

Huset blev kommandøreret og besat af General Sherman's personale som et midlertidigt hovedkvarter i december 1864, efter Shermans berygtede marts til havet. Bird-Baldwin House overlevede mange efterfølgende transformationer, herunder tid som et pensionat og en kro, kendt som "Harry's Place", før den endelig blev genoprettet og renoveret.

Great place and location, although next to a coffee shop and Liberty St can get a little busy, so there can be some street noise but not too bad. Host very responsive.

In a great location in the historic district. The house was the bomb. Beautiful interior. Perfect For the historical area. In walking distance of everything and a wonderful coffee house next door. Will stay there again.

The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had all the a,empties you need so you can travel simply. Any questions were answered with a phone call. I would give I would give 5 stars all around but think a night light is needed in the bathroom and they. Did not seem to work in the living room. But we weren’t there for the tv. This place was great.

This historical location is beautiful! Everything was just perfect. Clean and well laid out with incredible furnishings. The location is perfect for wandering the historic district!

Very comfortable property all around. Spacious, clean, well appointed, nicer furniture than most rentals, kitchen clean, new and well stocked, good dresser and closet space, nice shower and bathroom, good working washer dryer. The only thing that could have been better understanding it's a tough one to keep up with is the condition of the stairs and porches which needed a cleaning/power wash. Parking also is excellent.

Everything you could need is included, with self-controlled thermostat, small kitchen, laundry, on-site parking and outdoor seating. It's in a convenient location in the historic district and next to a coffee shop. There are many nice parks in walking distance where I ate my dinner everyday. The only issue I had was a small amount of street noise at bedtime and early morning. They do provide a white noise machine, which I neglected to use.

Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the shower water pressure is super low, so low I almost felt like calling to complain...but it was borderline, so we just made do with super slow showers. The apartment is beautiful, perfectly located and huge, the bed mattress is just so so, but everything else is great. They had coffee for their coffee maker but no sugar, a few sugar packages would have been nice and would have cost very little.

Reviewer Comments: The place is huge (which you can't appreciate in the photos and is not spelled out in the description), lots of space and in great condition. Super clean.Only two drawbacks: The water pressure in the shower is borderline unacceptable...we decided not to complain as we thought there wouldn't be much they can't do about it, but it takes a long time to shower with so little water. It was nice they had coffee but they didn't have any sugar, a few packets wouldn't cost them much and would be a nice detail. Other than that the place was great. Perfect location to visit Savannah. They were also very responsive with any questions.

Bed and sofa were equally comfortable, the bathroom was large and the kitchen was the perfect size and equipped with everything you’d need for a long weekend away! Would definitely stay here again!
