The pool and garden really are absolutely fantastic and made the holiday for us. The location is also perfect, very peaceful with absolutely loads to do in the surrounding area and very close to Reims which is full of activities. We all loved the house. It is worth noting that there is only one toilet which is located in a cramped space within a utility cupboard with no sink for hand washing. This toilet-cupboard is right off the main kitchen/living space so no good for groups despite the properties large size. The upstairs is very hot in summer and no fans are provided and mosquitoes abound if windows are left open. The check-in process is complicated and you need to have a phone that works in France in order to call the housekeeper to gain access, even though there is a lock box. Again you need to call the housekeeper to arrange check-out and cannot leave the key in the lock box. The housekeeper is so lovely, but this was an absolute pain and made you feel untrusted/unwelcome as a guest. The house is also full of the owners personal items, photographs and things, and isn't set up as a holiday let for guests, but their own home that they let out to earn extra money. If clutter, dust and other people's shoes and general stuff is going to annoy you then this isn't the place for you. My husband didn't mind it, but it got on my nerves. You also have to clean kitchen/fridge yourself, strip beds, put out the bins and are even asked to sweep the floor if you can. Relaxing?
