Beautiful Spot

A great place to stay! Location is perfect. Snorkeling is very close. Great bars and restaurants are very close. Hector was so helpful and responsive. The pool was cool and refreshing. The whole place was very nice. The only drawback would be the stairs. If you are not ready to do stairs it may not be the place for you, but we did it just fine. We would stay again for sure. Thank you for having us.

Our first trip to Isla Mujeres and we loved this unit - private plunge pool and ocean views from 2 patios was amazing! We were there at peak season and the north end of the island was crazy, busy so we drove our golf cart up to Playa Norte in the mornings, came back to the condo mid-afternoon to get away from the crowds and just relax by our private pool!A few things to note:1. no shampoo, conditioner or body soap is supplied- pack some or plan to buy there2. We, too, washed clothes but could not figure out how to dry them in the all-in-one appliance! Our clothes dried quickly out on the west-facing decks and hot afternoon sun.3. There is a regular drip coffee maker. Filters are supplied. Bring your own grounds, buy there or walk 5-minutes to the “Coffee Bus” that makes regular and specialty coffees!4. Supplied for our 9 night stay (3 people): 1 tea towel, 1 hand towel, 3 bath towels, 1 dishwasher soap tablet, 1-1/2 water cooler jugs of water (if you need more water, you may need to buy or refill jug yourself), 3 pool towels, 2 tall beach chairs, beach umbrella, laundry deterg, shopping bags, small styrofoam cooler.5. The futon needs to be upgraded…the padding is very thin so offers very little comfort while sitting or laying. We used the deck mostly so didn’t miss the sofa, but one of us had to sleep on it and it was rough! But, king bed in bedroom was very comfortable!6. 60ish stairs - we are older & unfit and never complained - the views are sooo worth it!!

This place is amazing !

Like a 5 star Hotel! The upstairs pool sells the place entirely. We we’re in there for hours just staring out over the ocean! We finally went in to the ACTUAL ocean after 5 days because it was so relaxing! 5 stars, great guys!

Good Time

Cozy, clean, gated, on the south side and a nice view in the evening with the pool right there out your back door. AC, Washer, fridge and good size shower. Will be coming back.

Perfect Getaway

The Sotavento condo was perfect for our first trip to Isla Mujeres. The condo was beautiful and exactly as pictured. The plunge pool was refreshing. Hèctor was very helpful and attentive. We hope to return many times.

Perfect Place to Rest

We have been to Isla Mujeres many times, but this was our most relaxing stay. We loved the rooftop plunge pool, where we spent many days relaxing and reading books. The view is incredible. We enjoyed many restaurants along the road. We did not rent a golf cart but walked or used a taxi. Hector was great with communication and even set up our return taxi when we checked out. I would definitely stay there again!

Perfect spot to relax

This was our second time staying at this property and we just can't imagine staying anywhere else on Isla Mujeres. Hector had great communication with us from the time we booked to after the end of our trip and was very responsive to all questions we had. It's on the south side of the island, so it's quiet and romantic, but within walking distance of some restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Excellent stay in Sotavento

Wonderful stay. Everything was as expected and as described in the listing. Location is quiet and far from the touristy part of Isla. We enjoyed the rooftop pool immensely as it gave a great view and a nice cool retreat from the heat. Condo had all we needed to cook our own meals. Gerry was great with the booking process and Hector was awesome handling all the needs we had during our short stay. Thanks so much.

We absolutely loved every minute here. The view, the location, the property are all fantastic. Jerry and Hector work diligently to accommodate you and make you feel covetable and relaxed. Hèctor organized transportation including a golf cart for the week and was on hand anytime we had a question. The view from this property is the real win. We stayed in quite a bit more than normal Just to take it in.

Perfect Well Kept Private Place on South End

My fiance and I stayed there over the 4th of July weekend and were loved every second of it. The apartment is very clean and very updated. Obviously the private pool is amazing for hanging out and enjoying the sunset (we spent a lot of time op there). We enjoyed it so much that we booked it again for 2 weeks later - we go to Isla a lot. I can promise that we will be almost exclusively staying at this place when visiting Isla. Thanks so much for all of your help Hector and Jerry with our accommodations!

Highly Recommend!!!

Our entire stay exceeded my expectations from the beginning. It was clean, air condition worked well, logistics were very easy, any questions were promptly responded to, and Jerry helped us set up and book any activities we were interested in. Not to mention the view and private roof top pool really set this unit apart. This was mine and my husbands second trip to Isla. We will most definitely be staying in this unit again soon!!!!

I was worried about walking up 5 flights of stairs at age 72, but adjusted as the view at the top is worth every step. We will definitely book this beautiful suite again. Thanks to Hector for having a beer waiting at the top floor and all of his strength in hauling our bags up. Pack light and enjoy!

Relaxing in paradise

Easy arrival, met in person by the helpful property manager who showed us how everything worked. Space was clean and beautiful, kitchen was decently stocked with the basics if you want to cook. You have to be prepared to climb some stairs to get to the unit, but totally worth it for the big payoff: private rooftop patio and infinity pool. To me, the rooftop was unique offering and such an amazing amenity. Completely private and great place to take in the sun or cool off in the pool. Definitely planning to go back

Beautiful View from a Private Paradise

We loved our stay at Sotovento on Isla Mujeres. We really liked being able to cook our own meals and not having to leave the condo unless we wanted to. Waking up every morning to that perfect view was the most amazing thing ever. We also loved hanging out at the private roof top pool and sometimes watching the storms roll in over Cancún. The south end of the island is pretty quiet, but we found places near us that were fun to explore and not over loaded with tourists. We rented a golf cart while we were there and it definitely was essential for making trips around the island and running to the store. Gerry and Hector were very helpful and accommodating. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Panoramic ocean view

Pictures don’t lie. A truly wonderful home base for an island vacation! Everything you need has been provided and you will love staring out at the view from your rooftop pool. Grab some groceries and enjoy meals in your own space or choose from the wealth of restaurants on the island. Rent a cart or scooter. So worth it! We cannot say enough wonderful things about Jerry and Hector, either😃 They were fantastic to work with. And maybe a little patient too😏 Would definitely recommend and return!

We absolutely loved our stay - and the view is unbeatable! Like others have said, I am a little hesitant to write this review because I don't want it to become so popular we can't book it again! Hector was incredibly helpful with any questions/needs we had before and during our stay (which mostly had to do with transportation. The condo had everything we could have needed and more). We really enjoyed the slow, quiet feel of the south end of the island. The only tricky part is if you plan to cook some of your own meals, you will definitely need to make a trip to the grocery store mid-island, as the local "market" is more of a convenience store - great for snacks, but not meals.That said, The Joint is right across the street and serves great ceviche, fish tacos, and fun drinks - and has fun live music. Rancho Capricho just a short walk up the street has great tacos, drinks, and delicious breakfast options. Garrafon de Castille right in front of the condo is the best spot for snorkeling and also serves lunch/drinks. DO NOT get suckered into the overpriced tourist trap Garrafon Reef Park next door. Far better snorkeling, food, drinks, and affordable prices at Castille. Also be sure to visit Punta Sur at sunrise - absolutely breathtaking!This was one of our favorite vacations we've ever taken, and it had much to do with how lovely this condo is, it's convenient location on a beautiful part of the island, and Hector's incredible hospitality. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful penthouse apartment with amazing outdoor space.

This is a beautiful, large, tastefully decorated and well-appointed one bedroom apartment overlooking the sea at the Southern end of the island near Punta Sur. It is split over two floors with the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room on the first floor which has really high ceilings and a big balcony. However it is the outdoor living area upstairs that really blows you away with its totally private infinity plunge pool. During the day you can sit in it and watch the boats come and go and at night the view is the lights of Cancun. I recommend this apartment wholeheartedly; my only reservation being that there is no lift so it is not suitable for anyone who isn't fully fit.

Beautiful view and quiet neighborhood

Hands down the crown jewel of this property is the views. The view from the front is stunning, I could watch the sun change the blue of the water all day. There is even an ocean view out the bedroom window on the front of the condo. The condo was clean and everything we needed was on hand. The infinity pool on the top patio was clean and refreshing on the hot days. It is located south on the island, which is quieter, however; there were restaurant/bars nearby and also a small corner store within walking distance. You are also within walking distance to Punta Sur which is a great place to watch the sunrise. If you need to get anyplace else on the island, the property manager can arrange a golf cart rental or a cab was easy to catch in front of the condo. One thing to know- the condo is a third floor walk up. You will have to work for the stunning views, but it is worth it!!

We are going back for sure!!!

My wife and I stay there for two week. It was awesome. Hector was fantastic at solving any issue we had, we had little to complain about...we bought wine beer and groceries at the Chedroui Super market, and holed up in he top floor condo and loved it. The pool is ultra private on the roof, and the sunset and views are incredible, the place is well appointed. The Bed is certainly firm but not a problem and you get used to it. The kitchen is adequate, but no stove, and you don't need one. the A/C is awesome and works very well. We had breakfast over looking the ocean every morning, with Coffee from the coffee maker, and then loaded the dishwasher...wine for lunch...!! We will book again same time next year without a doubt, Isla Mujeres, the island is changing for sure, but there is still some 1970's available... Jerry was great to deal with, realizable and communicative. the staff at the building were fantastic and we were very safe and the island on a whole is probably the safest part of Mexico... We walked a lot, but here are amenities close, and excellent food at Maria's Cancin...pasta is off the hook.

A piece of paradise! Hidden Gem!

Oh my gosh! This property and location was absolutely perfect for my husband and I!! First, the view from rooftop and private infinity plunge pool was STUNNING! We literally spent most of our time there to get away from the craziness of the north part of the island. We specifically picked this place because of the location and rooftop. And hands down we will be back! Héctor helped out in every way possible from check-in, to getting us a golf cart. He answered promptly to any questions we had. Yes the stairs were a lot but we WAY overpacked! There are many restaurants in the area. The Joint had music every night and their coconut mojitos were the bomb! We did the golf cart bar crawl through Go Isla tours….that is a must!! And cheap too! The Mango Cafe we saved till our last day and wish we had gone earlier because we would have probably gone many more times. Easy to get around the island with a golf cart. We are already planning our next stay there because my husband was under the weather most of the trip and could not enjoy everything the island had to offer. Do not hesitate! Book this place! Or I almost want to say do not so I can ensure I get it when I want it!!

Wonderful view, awesome condo

This condo is quite a gem that offers an awesome view of the stunning blue waters off of Isla. It's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy all that the island offers. We found that the private roof pool to be an awesome place to spend hours relaxing and enjoying the views. The balcony was the perfect location to enjoy morning coffee, watching the island wake up for the day. Walking up 3 flights to the condo entrance (60 total steps!) wasn't too bad, but those with bad knees or other walking limitations should be aware. Our only problem that couldn't be solved while there - was the wifi that had almost no signal. Otherwise, the condo had everything that you could ask for - a good fridge, coffee maker and excellent AC. Jerry had a small basket of food treats, and beer and tequila for our arrival. Although taxis are cheap - they can be harder to get in the morning and at night on the South End - I suggest renting a golf cart for flexibility. We found lots of close by restaurants - so that you don't have to go past mid-island for any meal. The closest is The Joint - nearly across the street - it's a great option for a cheap breakfast or lunch and great drinks (and good music). Another great breakfast option is Mango Cafe - it can be found mid-island on the Caribbean side. A large grocery is also a quick trip for coffee, beer, breakfast pastries and other staples. Garrafon Beach Club is literally outside of your back door for quick beach access, but we also found other nice beach options just a quick drive away. All in all, this was a great alternative to the chaotic north part of the island. This was a great condo for a quiet, relaxing visit to Isla.
