Bordeaux Mansion

This is a great property. Maxime is a fantastic host and super quick to respond. We thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay. Everything was perfect. I recommend that for non-French guests there should be more recommendations about wineries to visit, best local restaurants, bakeries, etc. Overall, a wonderful stay!!!

Fantastic home outside St Emilion.

The property is as advertised. Quiet, peaceful setting in lovely vineyards. 15 minutes from St Emilion. The kitchen was great to cook in and the table in front of the working fireplace was a great gathering point for our friends. Highly recommend a visit to the small family vineyard in St Emilion— Chateau Mauvinon and the Sunday market at Libourne.

Stunning House

We stayed here for a week in June. The house is amazing and has every facilty that you could hope for including a home cinema! The pool and gardens are lovely and the surround area is peaceful and beautiful. With Branne about a 10 min drive away you have a decent sized supermarket, a couple of bars and a very nice restaurant. Overall we were very impressed with the house and gardens and Maxime has done a great job providing this amazing house.

Wonderful house

I travel alot so often use this site and this property is a standout. The check in was very easy from Maxine and Christine! Everything is top of the range and state of the art. Couldn’t recommend it more highly. Really excited to return for longer next time! French perfection.

A Wonderful Wine Country Experience

The house is located about 15 minutes from St Emilion, in pretty vineyard surroundings. It is a beautiful property, lovingly restored, with a stunning kitchen and living area. The en suite bedrooms are comfortable, and the poolside is perfect for lazy days relaxing with family and friends. The house and grounds are very spacious, and we were more than happy with our choice. You would need to drive to get groceries, as the village of Guillac is very small, but has some lovely vineyard walks. Our only request would be that the house provide cushions for all the sun loungers at the poolside, as we were six adults, and only four loungers had cushions for comfort. All in all, an idyllic stay!

Wonderful stay close to St. Emilion

This rental is more like a chateau than a house! It's very spacious with plenty of room for our children to play inside and out. Perfect for several families to stay together. The house has old world charm but has top of the line fixtures and appliances. Our only recommendations to make the place more family friendly is to have a baby gate blocking the private upstairs and for sturdier chairs at the dining table. Also, it would be nice to have a way to play your own movies on the cinema screen in addition to the DVD collection provided. Located close to St. Emilion, it's a great spot to explore wineries. Maxime was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Thanks again for the great stay!

5 nights in early September 2023

The property is truly amazing and well-kept and very clean. It was very, very hot when we were there and there is no air conditioning or fans. We got by of opening the windows of a night but that let in the bugs. The pool was way too cold to swim in. I think in that heat some fans would have solved the problem. Definitely would stay again and there was nothing that we were lacking. Everything is closed on Sundays including the supermarkets. Maxine, the host, was extremely helpful.

Great place to stay, lots of space on the groundfloor and super nice area with pool and outdoor kitchen. 1st floor room a bit small, all other sleeping rooms and bathrooms very good! For a next visit in the area, we would certainly book the same place!

La dame qui nous a accueilli très sympathique et disponible. Séjour malheureusement trop court pour profiter pleinement du lieu, mais avec une météo bienveillante, nous avons pu quand même profiter un peu de la piscine. La maison est extrêmement bien équipée, magnifique, un sans faute. Merci encore

Stunning property

We rented this property for a week’s family vacation and couldn’t have made a better choice. The house, pool and grounds were stunning and came well equipped with everything you could reasonably need or want. And the owners responded immediately to any questions or minor problems we encountered. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would heartily recommend this accommodation.

Sejour idéal

Notre séjours, 4 couples, s'est parfaitement déroulé. comme nous le souhaitions, au calme avec des l'espace et de quoi faire de belles balades à pieds. La maison est très bien entretenue et les lits très confortables. Notre hôte fut à l'écoute et une communication très rapide. Je vous recommande cette tres jolie maison.

Magnifique demeure au calme

Une très belle rénovation pour cette demeure, beaucoup de charme et de style. De grandes chambres avec salle de bains attenante, une superbe cuisine bien équipée et une agréable piscine sur terrasse abritée. Endroit parfait pour quelques jours de repos ou de découverte de cette belle région. Nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps !

For many reasons....we were disappointed

This could be an incredible house and in many ways it was. However, we found many areas lacking and the overall impression from the pictures was deceiving. The owner knows that there are cleaning issues....bathrooms and bedrooms not clean. The house was cold and we actually had to keep our jackets on the whole time we were there. The audio did not work on the 'fabulous big screen system'. All that said, the owner is working on all these issues and I'm sure will find ways to 'fix the problems'. The house is huge, a real chateau. I will recommend this property when I'm assured that all is ready.

We rented our house more than 20 times in the last 18 months, on the VRBO family of websites as well as on other websites. Guests had a great experience and the reviews have been unanimously positive. On our side we were glad to share our family house, a home we cherish and try to embellish as best as we can, with other people from all over the world. Patricia's negative review is not a surprise.The communication with her was poor from the minute she booked. She arrived without warning and was quite rude when we showed her around. She left at 7am without notice and we found the keys in the kitchen. She now complains about the heating system, the sound system, the tidiness etc.. but never said a word during her stay. We could have increased the temperature of the boiler, shown her how to use the remote of the home cinema... all the small things we do when our guests take the time to talk to us ! I guess that once out of 20 rentals, we will have people like Patricia who are unpleasant, won't say a word to our face and then take pleasure in trashing us in the comment section. But we will keep renting because the 19 other guests are nice people and we know they will enjoy their time at our home.

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful long weekend at the property to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. The owner Maxime was a pleasure to deal with in the run-up to our stay and his Father, who lives in a separate cottage near the house, was on hand to let us in on arrival and show us around. The house itself has been wonderfully renovated. All three double-bedrooms were spacious and each had a modern en suite bathroom. The room my 4 and 2 year old niece and nephew stayed in was perfect for small children. The kitchen/diner was spacious and very well equipped. The sitting room very comfortable. However, what made the property for us was the fantastic outdoor facilities. The large garden was perfect for the children to play in, with the trampoline, swings and slide all massive hits. The pool, which is safely fenced off, was a superb added a bonus given the hot weather. The location of the property is also great. It is in a very pretty area. The local village of Branne (4km away) has a supermarket, butchers, bakery etc. and it was very easy to get to St Emilion from the house. All in all, a fantastic house, which we all loved staying at.

Stunning home and beautiful area

We were two families with four children and we stayed here for 5 days. The exterior space is outstanding especially the pool and patio area; the children loved swimming everyday. The garden is enormous and we would have used it more had we stayed there for longer. Inside is equally impressive with a very spacious modern kitchen and even a home cinema which we used to entice the children out of the pool when the heat became too much. The rooms and bathrooms are of a good standard. The owners were perfectly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The area is perfect for a short break with chateaux and pretty villages all around. Highly recommended!

You have access to pretty much everything in the house, except the cabinets/rooms marked "private". Please respect our stuffs and our kids' toys. We love our house and welcome guests who will take good care of it.

Please clearly indicate the number of guest staying in the house. The base price is for 2 rooms (for 2 couples). If you want a 3rd room you need to put in a minimum of 5 adults/teenagers. For the 4th room you need to put it 7+ guests. And for the 5th room a minimum of 9 guests. All the rooms which were not reserved properly will remain locked. Babies sleep free of charge in folding baby beds.

We DO NOT have tv. There is a home cinema in the living room you can use only to watch DVDs. It's an old system, you will not be able to connect a laptop, an iPad or an iPhone. Some guests have tried, failed and after their stay I had to plug everything back. Please don't change the settings.

We DO NOT accept bachelor parties or celebrations with music/alcool of any kind. This is a quiet village. The Gendarmerie (local cops) is only 4km away and will quickly come if a neighbor complains. Please respect the quietness of our village and peace of our neighbors.
