The house had a creepy 70’s vibe…like the set to a horror movie or a true crime documentary. But clean and well priced with good privacy and a great view

Deja View does lean into its original 70’s vibe — some guests call it vintage, others say it feels like the start of a true‑crime documentary, but thankfully the only thing stalking anyone here is the sunset. I’m happy to hear the home was clean, well‑priced, private, and that the view delivered. We appreciate the feedback and hope the rest of your time on the coast was blissfully low on suspense.

Was perfect for myself and the grandkids who love play pool. Helped especially when the weather turned foul.Kitchen was well equipped and the beds were wonderful. Nice that it was on dead end street so no traffic.

Cozy with a view

Loved the retro decor, comfy accommodations, easy beach access and amazing views. The pool table was a fun feature, too.

The views are amazing. Wonderful location close to all the things we wanted to do from the sand dunes to the devils punchbowl. Great communication. We got to the location early and they were easy to work with to get into the cabin before check in.

Great set up for 2 families. Kids had the up stairs to them selves. Location was great close to beach access and town.

We were in Florence visiting friends, so we chose a place on the beach this time. This STR has an absolutely gorgeous view of Heceta Beach and is in quiet section of Heceta - most of Heceta is quiet but this spot was serene. The host, management company, was quick and very responsive and it was easy to gain access. The path to the beach was about one block away. Next, up and through the bushes. Then, up and down some dunes, and finally landing on the beach. It was fun and ok for us but might not be ok for some elders. I called it going through the rabbit hole to the beach! At times, we found it more convenient to walk to the Driftwood hotel, about 1/2 to 3/4 mile and enter beach from there. The home needs lightening up...very dark inside until sunset when light comes in. All floors except kitchen are old, deep, dark brown carpet...not very good for rental due to sanitation. Dishes, glasses, pans, etc. were secondhand store style, which I don't mind but these really need to be updated with new plates and pans, etc. Good for sleeping 6 with queen bedroom downstairs and upstairs queen 2 twins in same room. Living room sofas and chairs were very uncomfortable...just desperately needs new living room furniture (couch and chairs) - the rest of old 70's style was ok! I hope they refresh this place a bit because it really is a wonderful house and location!!!

Most of the furniture and all of the beds have already been replaced, and while the homeowners love the current lighting, we will be updating the kitchen items this fall. We’re continuing to refresh the home so guests can enjoy both the location and improved comfort inside. Regarding beach access, the listing and guidebook already include all the alternative routes, along with the full description of the hobbit trail and the terrain involved. Your “rabbit hole” nickname made us smile — it really is a quirky little adventure — and we’ll continue making sure guests know exactly what to expect and where the easier access points are. Thank you again for your feedback. This home has wonderful bones and an unbeatable location, and your comments help us keep improving it for future guests.

Coastal get away

Fun vintage 70s vibe, with a terrific view. Quiet peaceful neighborhood, a sweet trail to the beach near by. Kitchen was sooo well equipped, more than expected. We slept upstairs for the best views to wake up to.

The house was perfect, the host was gracious when we had to change some things about the booking at the last minute, and the stay was exactly the sort of home base we needed on our anniversary coast trip. Thank you!

Cozy little home.

We stayed for Thanksgiving and cooked here. The kitchen seriously has everything you need and then some. They have so many games and puzzles that we all enjoyed. The house is super cozy! Beds are all comfortable. The best part is the view. Beach is easy access with a trail one block up. This place was perfect for our family.

Dejan View cottage

Nice home but about 1/4 mile from beach. Must drive there. Can see ocean but not beach. Plenty of room but some things need updating, like stove. Could not get regular TV on, only Roku.

Karen, there is no regular TV there is only Roku with Netflix - which has always been mentioned in the listing. With some serious modifications we finally found a brand new range that fit it was installed in March of 2023. We hope you'll come visit us again.

Hideaway

Although not right on the beach, there is a nice view of the ocean and sunset, and the walk down the street and over a hill gets you into the sand. Upstairs is all open air sleeping, fine for family and friends who don't need a private room. Downstairs is a queen bed which worked for us as a couple. There are plenty of things to do in and around Florence and our 5 days went by quickly. The house was completely adequate for our needs as a family.

Great stay at Heceta Beach

This was a great rental for me, my partner and 2 dogs. The home itself is a step back in time, such a trip! We really enjoyed the pool table and views from the deck, a short walk to beautiful Heceta beach which is never overly crowded somehow. Everything we needed to make some nice meals with halibut we purchased at Luna Sea in Yachats. I would mention if traveling with friends there is only one private bedroom-the second sleeping area is beds on the same open floor as the pool table- we opted to sleep up here for the view! This arrangement was just perfect for us. Leslie was a great host, friendly, and very responsive, just be aware you will need to sign a separate rental agreement for this home. We would definitely return to this house in the future, highly recommend!

70's Throwback

This was place a throwback to th 70's which I love. They are a few things that are not small children friendly. The staircase is very scary my 4-year old nephew fit through the slats. Thank goodness he was only visiting for a few hours. There is large wood burning fireplace with a rock hearth again not small children friendly. The carpet should be changed out not great for a rental.

It's a 'trip'!

This place is very much like visiting the family from Stranger Things, or maybe the set of Boogie Nights. I felt a bit like I should be wearing a polyester suite, with the shirt buttoned half way down, and a collar you could hang glide with. It's fun in a weird way. The downstairs is a 1 bedroom 70s home. Lots of windows let you see the surf. The second floor was intended as a party space. I'm sure that many drinks with colorful umbrellas were served here. There is a wet bar ready to be stocked. The queen and 1 single beds up here are a concession to allow more than a single couple to spend the night. My suggestion to the owners would be to go with the vibe and put in one of those big round beds with silk sheets and a mirror ball above it. Maybe a hide-a-bed could replace the twins. That would be a place for the ultimate Tiki-Tiki room party. (That sort of thing may be what they are trying to discourage.) I was a teen in the 70's. It was a lot of fun remembering the wood paneling just like my old basement. The swag lamp next to my bed. Deja View is a very cool place for the nostalgic among us.
