Beautiful and well tended seaside home with many modern conveniences and an attentive host who explains many aspects of living by the sea and how to care for their home. Once you are there, you can walk or take a boat most anywhere.

Unbelievably Perfect

The pictures of the property sold us on a vacation in Polperro but being there was incredible. Every single thing was perfect. The historic qualities of the house are fascinating. And, of course, the views were as picturesque as it gets!

Willy Wilcox Cottage Holiday

We had the most fantastic holiday at Willy Wilcox Cottage, the cottage is amazing, very high standard all round it was immaculate, the cottage is on the beach and the views are amazing, magical, everything you need is already in the cottage. Amanda the owner was excellent very helpful. This was the perfect place for me and family to recuperate and explore Cornwall we loved it !! Many thanks Amanda & John.

This cottage has loads of character whilst having all the modern necessities, like lovely showers, washing machine, coffee machine etc. The views from all the rooms are spectacular, looking out over the harbour and out to sea.Communications with Amanda (the owner) were easy and she left nothing to chance with very clear emails and texts before the stay and answering any questions very promptly. Staying in this cottage is a delightful experience and Polperro has a calming charm. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience Cornwall. The coastal path is literally on the doorstep so very easy for walking the coast.We feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to rent this amazing property!

Relaxing family holiday

Everything about this holiday was lovely!! The house was in a beautiful location overlooking the sea and harbour. There were lots of lovely walks and all pubs and restaurants offered delicious food - the Blue Peter Inn was our favourite. The house was immaculately clean and the beds were all super comfortable. We barely ventured outside of Polperro during our stay!! All correspondence was answered promptly and Amanda was very helpful - she even sourced a vegan scone for our daughter which was very much appreciated.Thank you for a lovely week!!

Great location with best view but not very private

This cottage is absolutely lovely inside- it’s been renovated but kept so much of its history. The view is incredible but this comes at a cost- you share it with many tourists especially when the weather is good. it got very noisy with people standing outside the whole time and walking past the kitchen windows to the viewing deck. (Sometimes peeping in!) We also had a few nights with drunken youths till all hours of the morning making loud noises rights outside / in the beach waking up my young kids and grandparents which isn’t fair for our holiday. Perhaps a quieter spot out of the summer holiday season.

Hi Katherine Many thanks for your kind review. I feel you were more than rather unlucky with night time noise. While during the day in any coastal location, especially Cornwall, daytime tourists do visit, we have always enjoyed the luxury of peace in the evenings and through the night. As regular visitors as owners and having spent the last full year there we know this to be the case. As with everything one only needs a handful of unfortunate, inconsiderate people to spoil this, which based on our lengthy ownership and attendance is incredibly rare. Thankfully we have a very high percentage of returning guests who have been coming to Willy for decades throughout all seasons, which I hope will reassure any prospective guests reading your review. Charming Polperro

Nous avons adoré notre séjour. Vaut le détour, l’hébergement est parfait, la literie excellente, tout les aménagements nécessaires y sont. L’accueil est attentionné. La localisation parfaite. Une petite remarque, il y a 4 chambres, toutes très bien et joliment aménagées juste l’une d’entre elle a des lits de petites tailles,

Amazing location yet it isn't just about that but the whole package

I'm not one to normally leave reviews if there's nothing positive to say but this cottage and our stay is worthy of a review. Spending a week in this lovely cottage was just the ticket. The cottage perfectly situated for the harbour and centre of the town without having to climb steep hills which for Polperro, I found can be quite the asset. First impressions of the cottage don't give way to disappointment at any time and whereas it had a couple of quirks it's a few hundred years old and allowed. Front door leading one way to fully equipped kitchen and wonderful to have plenty of glasses, mugs, cutlery etc. Far too often when renting a place there's only enough for single use per person before having to clean. The adjacent sitting room with a glorious viewing window also, again, has plenty of very comfortable seating. Upstairs beds and bedrooms galore with a fine selection of towels, gels etc laid on and an excellent hot water system providing bountiful supply to the showers etc. Open beams in the roof vaulted ceilings give rise to the warm homely feel. The garden terrace off one room is one quirk but well worth the quirk... makes for brilliant views and quite the sun trap. A barbeque rested there for use but we didn't partake preferring the offerings of the local amazing eating places. It can be said that the harbour and beach area is a main attraction of the village and it can appear busy at times in front but it's just not that busy at all in the bigger picture of things and it's below the cottage and whereas it could appear amongst it all from the outside it's totally the feel of away from the Madding Crowd inside. All in all the cottage, the situation, the amenities and the genuinely nice friendly local people and holiday makers alone mixed with location and all local walks etc makes for a perfect place Oh a Cream Tea awaiting our arrival was lovely and I as normal had cream first! :)

Excellent property. Perfect location

Communication with Amanda was excellent. Helpful and prompt responses. She gave excellent recommendations for places to visit and eat. House was very comfortable and homely, it has everything you would need. The window seat is an excellent place to watch Harbour life. The view from the terrace is 2nd to none. The position of the house is perfect for fun in the sea, walking coastal paths and enjoying the friendly village. We had the perfect family holiday!

Wonderful cottage

This is the most perfect cottage in the best location in Polperro. Steeped in history with a view over the sea and harbour, Willy Wilcox gives is a short walk from all the restaurants and facilities of Polperro. It is kitted out with everything you need, warm and cosy and exceedingly comfortable. Amanda was really helpful. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Stunning character property in a wonderful location

Wow, what a location! Within an hour of arrival we decided we wanted to come back next year. The property and location exceeded our expectations, and Amanda is an amazing host. Sont hesitate to book this place, it is simply wonderful!

Harbour luxury cottage with stunning sea views.

Luxury, spacious, well equipped and very clean cottage. Excellent facilites, easily room for eight adults in comfort. Private patio area with seating, table and barbecue is a great bonus.

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location

Back from a lovely family break at Willy Wilcox. Amanda was really helpful answering all our questions and the cottage is delightful - tastefully decorated, comfortable beds, powerful showers & really well equipped. Weather wasn’t great so lots of food, drink & games, & walked some of coastal path from house. Had pre-booked some restaurants, which was good as village is busy.

Easter lockdown escape 2021.

Communication with the owners was excellent throughout. The property was immaculate and very well appointed. It even had a memory foam mattress in one of the main bedrooms, which is so refreshing to find. We loved everything about Willy Wilcox Cottage and Polperro. You simply cannot get enough of drinking in the most spectacular views from all of the windows windows, doors and most of all from the main seating area. These views alone are worth every penny.

Christmas Retreat
