This guest is incorrect about the hot water. There was certainly hot water because I laundered over 65 towels after showers, etc. Because of his limited English he means to say there wasn t enough hot water, but I m not even certain about that. My hisband went immediately there and they were out for the evening, but he checked on their complaint. There was most certainly hot water but they may have momentarily overran the system in it's tank recovery process. After he went there their stay was another 2 days and it was fine. Not sure why a guest is compelled to tell only half the story. Also I think he means toilet paper. We leave 2 starter rolls in all 3 bathrooms. Also we have a complimentary basket with shampoo, conditioner, kotex, bandaids, peroxide, toothpaste, toothbrush, dental floss, antacid, cough drops, and 4 other items. He must be referring to toilet paper. That is subjective to opinion and use.

I ll have someone check on that. It is a private well unlike city water.

I rarely write much but this guest is from another planet. We offered more mattresses to be brought. Nope she d get along and "make do". Had a chirp in a smoke detector and instead of asking us to bring one , someone in her group BOUGHT one and boy did we hear about that! Took her extra pack n plays and highchairs. There is absolutely no mold in the 3 bathrooms! If I was a suing kind of person I d fly to where ever she lives just to make her prove this inflammatory slander. 14 people were there for 6 days. If there was any mold at all its because they didn t clean behind themselves. Just wondering. Thousands and thousands of guests over the years have passed through this beautiful house. Why does this WRETCHED woman want to ruin a wonderful vacation for others in the future? ITS BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE HER AREN T HAPPY AND THEY WANT TO MAKE EVERYONE ELSE MISERABLE TOO! I could say more but enough said.

This is a beautiful house. The doors are routinely unlocked at 4:00 for easy check in. Its a code door that needs to have someone capable of PUSHING THE BUTTONS! The pool is green because people don t swim here in October. They ve been closed since after labor day and we re in line for final winter servicing. If there was a toy broken in the box just throw it out or did you leave them for the next child. Its because of people like you I ll now stop providing any toys at all. I don t have to , it's because I m kind. There s no extra CHARGE for a box of toys. And if housekeeping has to reorganize a box of toys after each turnover then the cleaning fee can continue to climb. Oh I get it! It's you playing with the toys, not the children. No wonder you so disappointed !!!. Please don t bother to return . I ll certainly have maintenance check the faucet. If we re called we d be there within the hour or at our guests convenience. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HAPPENING TO OUR CITIZENS????

A lot more to the story than is told here. This booking was in July. Why a "review" 2 months later?

This "review" has set a precedence for me in terms of responding and controlling my anger. We offer 9 properties on vrbo and this particular one is my daughter and son-in-laws house. They are both doctors and paid my husband, a 35 year seasoned contractor, to build from the ground up a NEW house for them. I was personally involved in the planning and building of this home and it WAS built 2 years ago as of the writing of the advertising. It's now 3 years old. They are currently relocated for work and hence the"vacation rental." Profound ignorance " is the only explanation for a statement like that! As for the noise in the bathroom, building codes and common sense dictate a pump for the sewage. Affluent doesn't run uphill by itself. As for insufficient hot water, we should have been called. There is an Aviant "hot water on demand" system so I just don't have enough information to address that. We have people on call all the time for the 9 properties and it could possibly have been remedied by resetting a breaker. As for the rat remark , not that it's impossible, but highly unlikely. It is possible a field mouse made it's way in, but again, we should have been called. In my view, this review is mean-spirited and littered with ignorance. Suffice to say, I am grateful to the prior guests for their kind words.

We offer 10 properties in the area and we rarely have guests that aren't welcomed back. This is one of them. The place reeked of marajuana and the maids found a glass pipe in the couch. We were called twice to the property by 2 different neighbors as the noise was excessive. I explained that they should be grateful the neighbors called us and not the police. We paid extra to clean and fumagate the house from the smell. Even after we though it was gone the new guests smelled telltale signs of it still. We had to reimburse a portion back to the new guests for their inconveniences. As for the house having issues with dishwashers, hot water, etc, it's strange that I, personally found none of these complaints to be true. I think they wrote a retaliatory review since we had insisted they behave quieter. In New State State this is still an illegal drug. Glenda

To respond to the dishwasher situation. This guest is wrong when he says we never fixed it. We actually had 2 visits by a repairman within a 2 week period. Both times it was plugged. Broken glass pieces one time and excessive food the next time. Each visit was $125.00 repair. The swimming pool is vacuumed and chlorinated with each new guest and even more often when guests are staying for a week. They are cleaned same day of arrival. However, when a guest shows up 3 hours early it may well be that the mowing is in progress and the pool hasn't yet been cleaned. We had excessive rain this spring which added to the situation. As for water in the basement area a plumber was called ASAP and it was found that the pump that pumps dishwater upstairs wasn't working. It was repaired and back in order within 2 hours. As for pool sticks. One wasn't missing. So many have been broken that we now only provide 1 stick. If a responsible guest asks for another we'll provide it, but the breakage has been excessive. I appreciate that this guest does mention that they asked for a 2:00 check out instead of the 11:00. They had asked for this prior to their arrival not because anything went wrong. It's a bit late but I did say yes.

It does sound like your over all experience was a great one. As for the food items mentioned, I have stated over and over again, that I will NEVER provide edibles for safety reasons. It only takes one nut to lace food with bad drugs and it s over. It seems to be something the young guests expect. Someone started this trend, but we don't do it. Yes, you are right, that we provide an entire basket of complimentary items of things a guest might forget to pack. Even then, once the seal is broken the maids are instructed to toss it away. Tylenotl, aspirin, toothpaste, etc. There is 1 roll of paper towels that should have been there, however, if it's listed then refer to our earlier notes that say"we re close by should you need anything", and we mean that. If a houskeeper inadvertantly forgot to leave something that's listed then just ask. I don't see where that warrants being in a "review". Just my opinion. The door codes, address, etc are all "canned" messages on the website. Could it be that you didn't see it. We will address the dog barking promptly. I don't live there so how could I really know until I'm told. Very sorry for you and the poor dogs.

Well here we go. This is a retaliatory review and this guest threatened to write one for just that reason. If you read all the WONDERFUL reviews from other guests you ll wonder if they are in the same house. The head housekeeper reported 3 mini blinds totally broken. These guests had 2 adults and a van full of handicapped adults. Friendly and wonderful people. When the blinds were discovered broken they had to be replaced with more expensive one and all hardware had to be replaced as the old ones no longer were available. I charged the exact amt on the receipt plus $40.00 for the carpenters installation. Nothing for gas or my time purchasing them in Glens Falls.. I was told in the threadI "I was a CROOK and she was going to write a bad review. I reread the thread and requestioned the head housekeeper. Then I noticed she said the maintenance guy had come to install them and they asked him to do it upon their departure. This got me to thinking bc a maintenance guy had also told me the same thing when he reported back to me. I then realized only they would know this information and the damage must have been done prior to their stay. I immediately called VRBO and asked how to retrack the hold on the $200.00. They helped me do it and I immediately wrote to the guest and updated her and apologized for any inconvenience. I now see she kept her threat anyway. This property is booked solid all summer and has wonderful reviews. Really sad how some people think .
