Having stayed in many holiday cottages over the years, I can honestly say this one has been one of my favourites. The cottage has everything you could need to have a comfortable stay. There were six of us and we never felt there was something we needed in terms of the amenities available.We have a baby that is at crawling stage so will find any speck of dirt however the cleaners do an excellent job as the cottage was spotlessly clean (no dirty knees).Denise is a wonderful host who was always on hand to make sure we had what we needed.If you are looking for a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature - do not hesitate to book!

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The house was full of beautiful decorations, was equipped with games for all ages, and had all we need to cook for ourselves. Thank you Denise for meeting us and giving us some basic food supplies from the farm.

Hugglepit Cottage is a idillic peaceful rural retreat with beautiful views over the sea to Lundy, set along a lane with only one other property.The cottage itself is easily the best we've ever stayed in. Spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spotless.The gardens are a wonder in themselves and had hares, pheasant and deer as regular visitors.There are plenty of places to reach along the stunning north Devon coast, and Cornwall is a matter of minutes away.If you want a high-end, pet friendly relaxing cottage with sea views, look no further.The final mention goes to Angela, who made all the arrangements effortless and Denise who popped in at the start of our stay to ensure all was ok. The box of goodies was also a lovely touch.

Hugglepit Cottage is by far and away the best holiday home we’ve stayed in, and we’ve stayed in many. Everything was perfect! The rural location means it’s so peaceful, and there’s so much wildlife to enjoy. The cottage has so much character and a delight to be in. It is spotlessly clean, has much more space indoors and outdoors than the photos suggest. There are sea views from many of the rooms. The gardens are beautifully maintained. The bedrooms are gorgeous and the bedding luxurious. The kitchen is fantastic, and very well equipped.The batcam that has a feed to the tv is brilliant and fascinating, and such a rare treat for anyone who loves wildlife.We really enjoyed meeting the owners Denise and Peter, and their gorgeous dogs. They were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed.We urge you to visit this unique property. You will be so impressed. We will definitely be returning.

We had a fantastic week at Hugglepit cottage. The cottage is very spacious (bigger than our 4 bedroom house) and full of charm. It is well equipped and we could have easily spent the whole week at the cottage without going out and still had a great time. The garden is very large and lots to explore with areas of sun and shade to sit outside and enjoy the tranquil setting. The children could play hide and seek for hours and never run out of hiding places. It is down a narrow country lane but only a couple of minutes drive from the A39 so access is easy and only 5 mins drive to Clovelly. Being in the countryside, it is lovely and quiet with magnificent views, especially when looking out to sea and the island of Lundy. There are many dog friendly beaches nearby but our favourite was Sandymouth (25mins drive) with lots of rock pools and sheltered pools that the kids can enjoy whilst being completely safe. Just be aware of the incoming tide if you set up camp north of the path down as the tide comes is quickest here. The owners live just down the lane and are delightful and very attentive. There was milk in the fridge when we arrived along with local tea, strawberries, biscuits and other treats and a hand written card welcoming us to the property which was a lovely touch. Reading in the visitor book, there are many returning guests and it’s easy to see why. I’m sure we will also want to revisit this gem of a property.

Absolutely loved staying here,as did the rest of my family. We will nefinetly visit again. First family holiday

The cottage was well appointed. The cottage was so beautiful and well equipped with everything should need. Wonderful garden which we loved walking in each morning with our greyhound Olive. Denise and Peter were so helpful and great hosts.Denise supplies a very warm welcome and lovely bundle of Devon treats to start your stay. Family Holiday

Excellent place to stay very cosy and well taken care of cottage. Lots of extra effort by the team to make our stay comfortable like a box of eggs and few essential bits waiting on arrival. Place was absolutely spotless and cleaned to a very high standard. Would love to visit and stay again.

Perfect Relaxing Holiday

We had a fantastic time at Hugglepit Cottage. It is ideally located to explore North Devon and Cornwall. The house was absolutely beautiful, with everything you could want in a holiday home. Amazing gardens on the property which we were able to explore with the boys. Thank you to Peter and Denise who were the perfect hosts, living just down the road and always ready to help if needed. Would definitely recommend and would love to visit again.

Idyllic!

We had a wonderful stay at Hugglepit Cottage, despite some slightly damp weather! The quiet location is perfect for children and dogs, all of whom loved exploring the garden, woodland and orchard, and the cottage itself is very comfortable and well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed watching the resident bats and barn owl in the evenings. A great place from which to explore North Devon (and North Cornwall). A huge thank you to Denise and Peter and the whippets who made us feel so welcome.

Ideal for nature lovers.

The owner Denise was very polite and informative but not intrusive. If you are an animal lover this is for you. Bats are living in one of the outbuildings and camera linked to the TV. Bird table with so many species plus the Owls nesting in the owners barn. Nice welcome pack on arrival including eggs from the owners chickens Excellent views of the coast and Lundy.

Really beautiful property, and very well kitted out: felt like staying in a home, and a warm and welcoming one at that. Stunning location - rural and car required regularly if you are as poorly organised in food and diesel stakes as we were! But, wouldn't care if stayed for weeks - views beautiful, fields, woods, cliffs and beaches. Best explored region of coast by foot, definitely, with some gorgeous sun rises and sunsets from cliff tops. Peter and Denise were lovely, helpful and friendly.

What a wonderful cottage!

We have just returned home from Hugglepit cottage following a wonderful week in Devon The cottage is perfectly placed to access various beaches around north Devon The cottage itself is beautiful inside and out. It has everything that our 3 generation family could ask for. It is very well equipped and immaculately kept. The bed linen was immaculate, the towels were large and fluffy and the kitchen was very well equipped. The gardens are lovely and our little dog loved running around the various nooks and crannies in the characterful garden. The welcome food pack for both us and our dog was a lovely touch Our hosts Denise and Peter were very welcoming and Denise brought us over a lovely cream tea. The bats in the barn and the bat cam were a hit with our son and Peter the owner took him into the barn to see the bats We will definitely be returning to Hugglepit Cottage on our next trip to Devon

Excellent stay in a gorgeous North Devon cottage

We had a wonderful fortnight at Hugglepit Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we felt so comfortable in this home away from home. And the welcome pack of goodies was a lovely touch from the kind and generous owners, Denise and Peter, who live in the only other house down the lane. The way that they looked after us with fresh eggs, milk and the best cream tea throughout our stay really made our holiday special - we have never felt so looked after in a holiday cottage! As well as the fantastic owners, the cottage itself is perfect - lots of space with two lounge areas and two fireplaces and a large well-equipped kitchen. The gardens around the cottage offer some tranquil spots to unwind and relax. The cottage is well situated for some stunning walks along the North Devon and North Cornwall coast and for local villages and beaches. All in all, our stay at Hugglepit Cottage brought us everything we were hoping for from our 2021 staycation - and much more, thanks to Denise and Peter. We hope to return!
