It was a pleasure to host you and your extended family. Unfortunately the photos online just do not do justice how breathtaking the accommodation and view actually is. Now that we have a families of deers and kangaroos that visit daily, making a stay at Play Shack even more special. The mountain range across the river caps off the sanctuary vibe.

Thanks for the detailed review! We have to admit, we're impressed that a tiny blue cue mark on the ceiling received its own detective story. 🕵️‍♂️ Our condition report isn't designed as a scavenger hunt or a guest endurance challenge, it's simply there to protect both you and us. We clearly state we don't worry about wear & tear. Letting guests know we record previous damage, we're making sure no guest is ever held responsible for damage they didn't cause. Ironically, the very procedure you described as a "nightmare" is the same one that ensured you weren't liable for any of those 20 scuffs, chips, and mysterious ceiling marks. As for spending 90 minutes inspecting the property, that's entirely optional. Most guests simply glance through the report, let us know if they notice anything significant we've missed, and then get on with enjoying their holiday (and, hopefully, dinner before it gets cold!). Regarding the foosball table and Wi-Fi, we appreciate you bringing those to our attention. The Wi-Fi issue was an unexpected outage, and we're sorry it but it was resolved the next day! The upstairs air-conditioning remotes are only removed during cooler months when those units aren't required, but we understand this wasn't clear. We're genuinely pleased you enjoyed the house and its beautiful surroundings. Next time, we promise the only mystery you'll need to solve is who's doing the dishes!
