Homely, well appointed unit just a short drive from Point Lonsdale or Queencliff

Whilst the furniture style is a bit dated, the general fit out of the unit is really nice. The bedrooms are good sizes and the property has everything you could need on a short-stay beach holiday on the Bellarine Peninsula. Having 2 x bathrooms and an en suite for the master bedroom meant that we were very comfortable there. The kitchen is well equipped with a coffee machine and dishwasher. The property is well laid out with decent Wifi. The billiard room access is also a nice bonus too. It's probably a bit too far to walk into town if you have young kids, but if you had teenagers it would probably be fine (it's about 25mins to Point Lonsdale main shops).

Great stay

Our party of 3 and one well behaved Kelpie had a terrific time at Ruby Cottage. The accommodation had everything you could want. Extremely comfortable and well appointed. The disabled facilities were fantastic - entry ramp and bathroom terrific and suited our needs with rails and curtain in the shower and rails with the toilet. Disable facilities like this are few and far between especially coupled with such a lovely space. We will return.

Good location

Excellent pet friendly accommodation. Secure secluded garden ideal for our dog. Description of property was accurate. Easy 2km waterfront walk into Pt. Lonsdale. 5 mins by car from Queenscliffe and great seafood.

Work Stay

House was great, very comfortable & clean, all amenities and really appreciate having linen supplied! Warm greetings from host Sue on arrival and surprise welcome hamper of wine & snacks. Really enjoyed our stay, wish it was longer & would definitely like to return in the future. Hard to find fault.

Beautiful house by the beach

We LOVED our stay here! The property was beautiful and clean and was only a 5 minute drive into town. The house was also very open and light we can't wait to come back. Would recommend Sue was such a great host as well!

Privacy and luxury is on point.

Lonsdale Palms is actually three separate cottages on the one property, located a short drive from Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff. We stayed at the middle child, the two bedroom, two bathroom Ruby Cottage. This thoroughly modern, well maintained property is light and airy; spacious and comfortable with all the mod cons, including dishwasher and climate control; large TV and blu ray. Importantly for us Lonsdale Palms is a pet friendly property, and each cottage is securely fenced. The pool room in this cottage is a nice touch as is the complimentary hamper of goodies when you arrive. The owner, Susanne’s, responses to queries were always prompt and helpful. Overall a lovely and relaxing place to come back to after a day at Point Lonsdale beach or dinner at one of the great restaurants in Queenscliff. Recommended

What I love most about Ruby Cottage is the sense of peace it brings. Set within beautiful established gardens, it's a place where guests can slow down, enjoy the fresh coastal air and reconnect with nature.

This property is especially close to my heart. It forms part of what was once our family's much-loved farmhouse on five acres. After my husband passed away following his battle with cancer, I embarked on a journey to thoughtfully redevelop the property, creating beautiful, accessible accommodation where everyone—including guests with mobility challenges—could enjoy a memorable holiday.

As a passionate birdwatcher and gardener, I never tire of the incredible birdlife, native trees and changing seasons of the Bellarine Peninsula. The property's rich soil, a legacy of its former life as a chook farm, allows the gardens to flourish and gives me enormous pleasure throughout the year.

Nothing makes me happier than knowing guests create their own special memories here—whether it's sharing time with family, relaxing with friends, exploring the coast, or simply enjoying the tranquillity of this very special place.

I fell in love with this part of the Bellarine Peninsula many years ago because it offers something increasingly rare—a place where nature, history and a relaxed coastal lifestyle come together beautifully.

As a keen birdwatcher and gardener, I never tire of the incredible diversity of birdlife, the native landscapes and the changing seasons. Whether it's an early morning walk along the beach, exploring the wetlands, cycling quiet country roads or simply listening to the birds from the garden, every visit brings something new.

I also love the area's welcoming villages, wonderful cafés, wineries, local produce and rich maritime history. Point Lonsdale and nearby Queenscliff have retained their unique character while offering visitors so much to see and do.

For me, this is a place to slow down, reconnect with nature and spend quality time with the people who matter most. I hope every guest leaves feeling as refreshed and inspired by this special corner of Victoria as I do.

Ruby Cottage was purposefully designed to provide a level of privacy rarely found in two-bedroom accommodation. Rather than placing the bedrooms side by side, I positioned the two bathrooms between them, creating separate, private sleeping zones. Each bedroom also opens onto its own outdoor deck, giving guests a peaceful place to enjoy a morning coffee or quiet moment alone.

This thoughtful layout makes Ruby Cottage exceptionally versatile. It works beautifully for two couples travelling together, families with older children, friends holidaying together, or client and carer arrangements where both comfort and personal space are important.

Combined with step-free accessibility, a gourmet kitchen, separate games room, private fully fenced garden and quality furnishings throughout, Ruby Cottage offers much more than a place to stay—it provides a comfortable, welcoming retreat where everyone can relax in their own way.
