Nyd moderne ophold i et 2-etagers cedertræbelagt historisk hus beliggende i Niagara-på-søen. Denne ejendom var oprindeligt en del af St. Marks Church grund. Husets kulturarvsværdi er blevet overført til mange hænder; indtil det blev solgt til Campbell Scott, en berømt maler og smykkemaskine. Han brugte sin kunstneriske vision til at designe og rekonstruere dette hus. Desuden udviser denne ejendom en unik moderne arkitektonisk stil.

Fantastic Stay!We had a wonderful stay! The highlights were definitely the beautiful, secluded patio area and how easily we could walk into town. A few minor things worth noting for future guests: a) The showers are quite compact b) There are a good number of stairs throughout the house c) The living room sofa is showing a bit of wear and tear.None of these impacted our overall experience, and we would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

The house is in definite need of an update. The outside porch was not clean, the sliding glass door screens were unattached and had holes in them. The couch in the family room was worn and the furniture was dated. The kitchen was well equipped, except for ice trays. The only upside was the terrific location and communication with the owner

Location

We have stayed in many properties in NOTL but the location of this one could not be beat! If you are looking for a clean Scandinavian inspired setting look no further

Family getaway

This house was the perfect place for our small family trip (4 adults, 4 children). Checkin was very easy, the place was very clean. The house is huge! Amazing sitting areas, very comfortable rooms/beds. Very nice gold fish pond in the back which the kids loved (fed them every day) Amazing location walking distance to everything (the town/lake) And the owner is amazing, and was very easy to reach throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this place, we will definitely be back!

Everything in this property is a little bit broken, dated, messy, and unkempt. When you enter, you are greeted by a strong musty smell. The decor is a mix of old things just thrown together. The pond is mostly empty with just enough water in it to provide a lovely home for mosquitos and other bugs with the pump sitting on the ground close by. The deck is covered in moss and mildew. The plant life is wildly overgrown but the nighttime visiting raccoons love it. The kitchen was a thin galley and the tableware and silverware was just a bunch of old mismatched sets. The utensils were dirty, the microwave was dirty inside and out. You have to engage the toaster 7 times to get your bread lightly toasted. The orange sofa should have been replaced at least 5 years ago, maybe 10. The master toilet makes a constant pumping noise, all. night. long. Everything is dingy. There is raw plumbing behind the door right in the living room. The basement bedrooms have a raised entry that is unusual and unexpected so you trip every time you enter. The beds are very hard and the pillows are very flat. The patio doors are covered in water as though you are in the Amazon jungle. Oh and if you forgot your shoes, there are three pair of used flip flops by the back door if you need them. This property has not been kept up at all. The pictures are very misleading. They do not represent the rundown nature of this property. For the price point this home should be immaculate, it’s not even close.

We stayed two nights at this very unique property over the holiday season. The house was spacious and well decorated and offered us everything we needed but there is a problem with the furnace in the lower level of the home. It was not comfortable or anywhere near 70 (21 C). We stayed in the lower level bedroom and when we first got to the house the temperature in the upstairs family room (orange couch room) and the lower level was at 49 degrees F (9.44 C). We set the temperature higher on all the thermostats and discovered that there was no heat coming out of the lower level vents.I suggest supplying an instruction sheet for the thermostat controls. The TV monitor is not connected to any cable box. We were not able to watch any Netflix or local channels. There were many locked doors in the house and I did find a laundry room as listed as an amenity. One of the ovens is broken, though there is a second oven. There is a screen door that has fallen off and is laying on the deck. Potted plants are still hanging with dead plants in them.We let the host know about our experience but he has not offered to compensate for any of this.

Great location! However…

This is a shining gem of a home or it was about 30+ years ago. You can’t beat the location, very walkable to the center of downtown NOTL, Queen’s Royal Park and The Shaw Festival Theatre. The home has gorgeous outside spaces, don’t forget to smile because you’re always on camera. The fish pond is nothing less than serene. The kitchen (which could use a good scrub up with soap and hot water) and upstair’s bedroom with en suite bathroom are just tired and worn out, including all of the linens. The upstairs shower is child-sized and as I’m an adult turning around in said shower was impossible without banging into the door. I’ve got to admire the effort in which the house is being kept as original, the architecture is mostly original and solid, not to mention this is a huge house spanning over 3 levels. Occasionally I need to hang an item of clothing while on holiday, welp good luck because there is one closet in the basement bedroom and a couple of hangers in the laundry room. The Nest couldn’t be easier to use to control the Air Conditioner (it was hot and humid). Internet, television and keyless everything were great!!

Unique Property

This is a truly fabulous unique rental! It was custom built by artist Campbell Scott . The dining room is expansive and regal . It was great for an elegant dinner or board games . The rental was clean and roomy . The linens were fresh , lots of towels , beds comfy. We enjoyed feeding the fish and the fully enclosed private patio . Communication with the owner was timely . Proximity to downtown was fabulous. This is a one of a kind property , a true gem in NOTL!

Fantastic Location in NOTL

Large house very close to main district and the lakefront. With 6 adults, 2 teens and we could barely find each other half the time! Home had everything we needed for our weekend stay. Everything was clean and in its place upon arrival. Owner is a pleasure to deal with, easy to contact and is very quick to respond to inquiries. Would definitely book again.

Great location, very nice, a few issues

Overall, a nice house in a great location. Very clean, comfortable beds, great downstairs shower, easy communication with owner. House needs a little TLC, such as towel rack in lower bathroom, cleaning-up/maintenance of outside patio area/yard/pond, bedding appears very old. Temperature in house was uneven, one bedroom was very cold while other was warm. In general, the house was comfortable, in a great location and an overall good value.

Large property, poor maintenance

Unfortunately for us, this third year staying at this property has shown us that it is not being properly maintained. Although the size is large and it has an amazing location, it seems to be falling apart. We spent our first day cleaning off the back deck and taking apart the bbq to clean it so that we could cook for our family. We were met in the kitchen with dirty sponges and half a bottle of watered down soap. The large orange couch is sinking in several places and the weeds and vines have taken over the outside of the entire property. With the amount paid for this rental, we don’t believe it was worth it.

Best place to hang with a bridal party

We used this space for my bridal party to stay at and get ready the days leading up to and the day of my wedding. The spot is super spacious, beautiful, and unique. Comfy beds, wonderful furnishings and decor. Amazing location! Super easy to communicate with Rajeev. Would recommend to anyone!

Great location, a quality house, but issues

The town is wonderful. The house could be magnificent- it's spacious, well-located and has a modern design. The beds are comfortable. Unfortunately the house felt neglected, and the internet wasn't set up and didn't work the whole time. Requests for help on internet were fielded by an assistant to the owner (who was out-of-town) who couldn't help. The local network didn't even show up when scanning for networks. There were basic issues for such a nice house-missing slats in the master bedroom curtain, a number of lights didn't work, there were a couple of exposed electrical wiring connections, led candles throughout the house but batteries dead, dirty mats in the washer, fish pond nice but all green, yard was unkept, ... There was a 1-2" step right in front of a bedroom that could affect the elderly (my mom is 90). Ironically coupled with the issues and neglect of basics, there were rules, rules, rules posted all over the house and in communications that became a mix of annoying/comedy. Two on the front stairs right as you walk in, in the kitchen, two in the master bath about not using towels for makeup- one of them was written on the art on the wall in case you missed the sign at the sink. The long rule list sent before our stay also said no one else may come to the house and this will be monitored and if caught you will be charged. We've travelled the world and stayed in many places and haven't ever seen this type of communication and it was especially ironic since the house wasn't kept up to match. If a handyman was hired for one day, internet double-checked, and the tone changed to being a little nicer, it could easily be a 5* high-quality experience in such a nice house and town.

Amazing space

Such an amazing space- the room with the large table was ideal for mealtimes, and the one with the large couch was great for lounging and chatting. Walking distance to downtown. Only disappoinrment (which was due to Covid rules not owner) was there was no hot tub (which was one of the reasons we booked). Would recommend.

Very nice place and location

It was very good. Decorations and bedroom were very nice. Some issues: poor lighting in the main dining room, one of the ovens were not working, the patio outside is unique/cool, but still needs more work to complete.

Great Family Weekend in the Heart of NOTL

A spacious accommodation in the heart of Niagara on the Lake. The property is located within easy walking distance of the downtown and everything NOTL has to offer; boutique shopping, excellent eateries; vineyards and breweries and; live entertainment at the Shaw Festival. The house itself is perfect for a family get together offering comfortable common spaces and private rooms for quiet time. Our host Rajeev was responsive to our questions and very pleasant to communicate with. Overall great experience for the entire family!

Great stay!

We had a great stay. Lots of space to enjoy. The dining table was much bigger than we expected and made for easy dining as a big group. The living room had a really nice big comfortable couch, we never had trouble all sitting together in one room. The space is very unique and made for a fun stay. The pullout beds were all comfortable and the rooms were nice and spacious. The host was lovely and easy to get in touch with. We really enjoyed our stay

Unique stay in a nice town

The house was great and was a cool experience. Only down side was niagara on the lake is such a quiet town that even regular noise can cause neighbours to complain but that is not the fault of this Vrbo stay. Rajeev was very pleasant to deal with and easy going when it came to early check in and late check out.
