Loved this place! Spacious and clean. Cottage came equipped with Everything you need! My only complaint was that you couldn't open windows because there were gaps in all screens and mosquitoes would get in. Would definitely recommend this cottage!

We were in town for a family visit. Nice and quiet location with great views. Great for our dogs.

A beautiful property with a lovely cottage!We stayed in Cottage #1 as we brought our two small dogs and wanted the garden space up front.We towed our fishing boat up there and used the lake access everyday!The people maintaining the property were friendly and helpful. The few other renters in the other cottages were also friendly. It made for a lovely relaxing stay. The cottage itself had decent wifi and it was very easy to set up with groceries and feel settled quickly. It had all the basics stocked and was clean and aired out.Anyone looking for a cottage stay should come here :)Kelsi also accommodated us very quickly asking to stay for an extra night because we weren't ready to go home!

Quiet, beautiful cottages view an amazing view

It was truly amazing. Beautiful.You will not be disappointed at all. I will only book here when and if i go back to temiskaming area.

Beautiful cottage!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was wonderful! The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The only downside was that the fans/AC weren't quite able to keep up with the heat, but we purchased some inner tubes and spent most afternoons floating on the lake across the highway! It was a lovely time.

Great time.

Stayed in the main cabin. Cool mix of modern amenities and antique eclectic furniture. My daughter and I had fun reading the local history books and trying to find our way through the old maps hidden away in the coffee table 😀. We caught fish right off the dock. Mind you I think the water level has gone down so it was a little askew. Manageable though. Laundry was a super bonus. As was the dish washer. The only regret was not having another family or group to hang out with. Check out north cobalt Market. Devils rock. Haylibury golf club is amazing. We went twice.

AWESOME!

Kelsi was a great host and her property was great. It's quiet, currently just her cottage finished there, side and road access to the lake, super clean on the inside. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Close drive into Cobalt, not far from Temiskaming Shores, and Notre Dame du Nord. It was the getaway we needed.

Good potential but not quite ready

"Don't judge a book by its cover" is one adage that could apply here. Our first impressions, when we drove up, were very negative: the cottage exterior and property were run down & in a state of disrepair and/or construction. The description indicated that more cottages are being built but the small size of the property made it hard to overlook the multiple buildings in various states of repair/demolition, especially since you have to walk past them to get to the on-site dock. Admittedly, there was no noise but it was disconcerting to have people (even very nice/pleasant ones) driving in and out, during our stay. When we arrived, it was raining and a waterfall was flowing from the eavestrough right over the door, creating quite a little lake on the step. Both doors are quite old and in rough shape but, as described, the front door did have a deadbolt (even though some of the windows don't lock). The interior was absolutely lovely: new paint, floors, antique furniture. Really very surprising, considering what we were expecting, based on the exterior. It was a pleasure to spend time, indoors. The heater was VERY effective, too. (and it was really chilly!) The majority of the cottage was clean but some obvious missed areas: bathroom mirror was very dirty, as was the stove. We bought a bottle of vinegar , used a couple of pieces of paper towel to fix that problem. The TV situation could be made clearer: there is no wifi, as described, but there is also no satellite or cable. The big screen TV is ONLY useful as a movie screen for the limited number of DVDs. After coming across a jug of distilled water, we asked the owner if the water was drinkable. She advised that they don't drink the water. There was no indication anywhere about the water quality. A big plus was the responsiveness of the owner - quick to answer messages and very helpful with information about local activities. The area is gorgeous and near some, previously unknown to us, interesting historical sites. When they complete all the renovations, we are sure it will be a really wonderful place. Unfortunately, it isn't quite there, yet, and certainly not at the posted price.

Hi Peggy,Thank you for your feedback!  We have fixed up the eavestrough and have replaced the deadbolt with a proper lock since your stay.  I've let the cleaner know about your notes so that we can be better. Other than your notes we've had incredible feedback about the cleanliness of the cottage on airbnb. I will make a note on the description so it's more clear that there is no cable or tv however there will be wifi starting Oct 12, 2020 so you will have access to netflix, youtube, etc!  When you asked about the water, I said we personally do not drink tap water in general and offered you to drink the bottled water we left there. I did talk to my team about the water after the fact and they said that the water is amazing and comes out of an artesian well so it's nice and cold - Sorry that I didn't know that sooner. I will make a note of that on our listing that the water is in fact drinkable. The only way to get the cottages and land perfect is to have our trusted workers there working which we have been clear about so we hope to have you back next summer when the construction has quieted down.  We've had amazing feedback on airbnb from 6 other sets of guests who think the price is a steal of a deal with the amenities listed. September 2020 was our first month of hosting guests so we are still in early innings, learning and doing everything we can to make the cottage the best it can be! Thanks again for staying with us!
