Room In Central Historic Downtown -River View West

This cozy room features two twin beds

and is located on the third floor of the inn. River View West shares the bathroom (located on the second floor) with the adjacent room. Guest's are provided with bathrobes for privacy and convenience.

Enjoy year-round dining, shopping, and lodging at the Town’s Inn (circa 1840) which is located just steps from the C&O Canal Towpath and Appalachian Trail and is in the heart of Harpers Ferry, a living history village situated at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers, approximately 60 miles from our Nation’s Capital and Baltimore, Maryland. Harpers Ferry is a place for all seasons for many reasons and offers healthy historical activities, including bicycling, hiking, river sports, outdoor adventure parks, and museums. Harpers Ferry is located 8 miles away from Hollywood Casino which features several restaurants and “gaming” options in Charles Town, WV.

For guests that enjoy craft beers, Harpers Ferry Brewing is a kid friendly brewery located 3 miles from the inn and overlooks the Potomac River. Wine sommeliers can enjoy tastings at 40 local wineries in Harper’s Ferry and Loudon Co. Va. We offer customizable shuttle options and prepared picnic lunches/backpacks for guests who wish to enjoy several stops along the tour, please email Karan at karantownsend@gmail.com for more information about shuttle packages.

Located 22 miles away from Harpers Ferry, Frederick, Maryland is a popular destination to explore shops and restaurants in the downtown historic district. Civil War history buffs should plan to visit the Monocacy National Battlefield, the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, and the Roads and Rails Museum (family friendly!). Located 15 miles past Frederick, the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zo is a 50-acre park featuring exotic animals and interactive exhibits.

Unique to say the least but nice with friendly staff. Great location. they use the honor system to guest with kitchen use and supplies/groceries.....pretty cool !

Beautiful and interesting stay

We were very impressed with both the service of the staff and the comfort of this lovely 200-year-old home. It was right in the center of the charming little village, within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and places of interest.

I loved staying at the Town's Inn. It was one of the best places I have ever stayed. Karan and Rebeckah could not have been more helpful and kind (Thank You). The Town's Inn felt like home away from home. Convenient to all the historic sights and walking distance to the Appalachian Trail. Harper's Ferry and especially the Town's Inn should be put on everyone's bucket list. I highly recommend the Town's Inn.

Perfect, Rustic BNB

This BNB could not have been more perfect and charming. A little rustic but that's right up my alley. Also located right in the middle of town and within walking distance to everything. Hoping to make this a yearly destination!

I loved staying at the Town’s Inn! The location cannot be beat. My sister and I walked 38,000 steps our first day in Harpers Ferry, stopping twice at the inn between our destinations as it was that convenient. We also loved the self-serve cafe, especially at the end of our long days. It was so convenient to grab something off the shelves to eat when the other restaurants had closed. The inn’s keeper, Karan, has put so much thought into this place. It’s obvious that she thinks about her guests and their needs—there is something for everyone here! The inn itself is very old, so expect a unique stay instead of something high end. My sister and I stayed in a simple room with squeaky twin beds, but the windows did look out to the town and to the river, as advertised. Parking was easier than we expected. Karan provided a note for our car after we had secured a NPS entrance ticket online. We were able to park at the train station for the duration of our trip which is just a short walk to the inn. I’d recommend the experience of staying at the Town’s Inn to anyone interested in visiting Harper’s Ferry!

The experience of a lifetime

Karen, Linda and the staff were excellent. The room and accommodations were superior. The town has specific requirements that are VERY unusual, that only add to the trip. We stayed for 2 nights with our small dog in had memories that will last a lifetime. If you are looking for a weekend away this is worth your time.

We love the ambiance and location of the Town’s Inn. The stay this time was a bit challenging, since we had a twin room in the 3rd floor, with a small shared bathroom on the 2nd floor. Not something we’d choose to do again at our age (70’s). However, there are certainly better rooms there, which we had a few years back. Choose your room wisely.

The Town’s Inn is an 1820 Historic Landmark located in the heart of all of historic district in Harpers Ferry. The train station, eateries, rivers, park, hiking/biking trails are all close to the Inn. There is a self serve mini market with plenty of food choices ready to eat or that can be prepared. There are also gifts/keepsakes for purchase. The atmosphere is pure southern hospitality and very gentile. I almost didn’t want to leave. I felt at home.

Awesome Hosts!! They greeted us warmly and even upgraded our room! We enjoyed the old world charm!

It is not for everyone because there are alot of stairs everywhere in Harper's Ferry. We had no problems with this so our stay was very enjoyable. Room was warm and decorated nicely! Found the ghost hole in the floor and read some interesting notes left by previous guests! Harper's Ferry should be on everyone's bucket list. So much history!!

Beautiful!

I couldn’t have a more pleasant stay! The Inn was built pre Civil War, yet the host kept the Inn just the way one would imagine a Inn to look like during that part of history. There was always a home cooked meal, and several other tasty treats available. Furthermore, you have a option of preparing your own meal. The rooms were very comfortable, and even better was one didn’t need to drive to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner! So, if your looking for excellent hospitality with a twist, this is a must!
