Summary:

Starry nights await at this luxury 4,500 sq ft custom cabin on 7 private acres, just 9 minutes to Dillsboro and 12 minutes to Sylva. Built for entertaining with two fully stocked kitchens, movie room, arcade, pool table, Smart TVs, YouTube TV, Sonos soundbars, and fast Wi-Fi. Features three en-suite bedrooms, BBQ grill, and a massive fire pit. Close to GSMNP, Maggie Valley, Bryson City, and Asheville.



The Space:

This Montana-style, true log cabin is handcrafted from spruce logs, with exterior stonework sourced directly from the property. The home showcases local art and locally made furnishings, thoughtfully chosen to support the surrounding community. The hand-hewn Japanese cedar dining table seats 12 and anchors the space for memorable group meals, with seating for four more at the kitchen bar. Leather sofas throughout provide both comfort and easy upkeep.



At night, the stargazing is exceptional—you can even enjoy the view from inside through the soaring cathedral windows. Mornings are often greeted by birdsong, and it’s not uncommon to spot deer or wild turkey wandering the yard. The setting is peaceful, private, and perfect for unwinding.



Additional Studio Apartment

A separate, onsite studio apartment with private entrance (1 queen bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen, tiled shower, and washer/dryer) may be available to rent depending on the week. It is adjacent to the main house and may or may not be occupied. If your group needs this extra space, please inquire about availability and pricing at booking.

Set on 7 private acres in the quiet Webster area just outside Sylva, the cabin is 10–15 minutes from downtown Sylva, Dillsboro, and Western Carolina University. You’re also a short drive to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Bryson City, Cherokee, and Highlands/Cashiers.

Important House Notes & Policies



This is a true log cabin on a regular pest-control program. Due to the nature of log construction, small insects—especially ladybugs—may occasionally enter through natural cracks during certain seasons. Refunds cannot be issued for this type of occurrence.



Group Size & Extra Guests

Please notify us if your group exceeds 16 guests. The home can accommodate up to 24 guests with advance approval and an additional fee. We’re happy to work with you on pricing for larger groups.

An extra guest fee of $50 per person per night applies after the 12th guest.

We welcome pets! A minimal pet fee applies and may vary based on the breed and size of your pet. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring a pet so we can provide the applicable fee and make the necessary arrangements.



Owner Apartment

The owner resides in a separate, unconnected apartment on the property and keeps personal belongings there. This space does not connect to the main house, and your stay will not be disturbed.

The home includes up to 13 beds in the main house:

Cleaning & Property Care

The cleaning fee covers standard cleaning, laundry, and trash removal. Excessive mess may result in an additional cleaning charge.

Parking or driving on grass is not permitted and may result in fines.



Fireplace Use

When using the upstairs fireplace, please do not use “thermo” mode, as it will keep the fire running until the set temperature is reached.



Off-Limits Areas

All garages, sheds, crawlspaces, mechanical, and maintenance areas—interior and exterior—are strictly off-limits. This includes areas under decks and near HVAC equipment. Lawn and maintenance products are stored in secured containers. By booking, guests agree to waive liability related to entering restricted areas. If access is ever needed, please contact us first.



Bonus Tip

The Jackson County Library in Sylva offers an excellent selection of free DVD rentals—perfect for movie nights. We also provide a small DVD collection on-site.





Seasonal Note:

Because the cabin is in a natural, wooded area, you may occasionally see insects. In the winter, ladybugs are especially common around windows and warm areas. They are harmless, but a few may find their way inside despite regular cleaning. Thank you for your understanding!

The house was very clean and perfect for our group of friends. Plenty of rooms for everyone and common space to meet although we spent most of our time outside. Close proximity to restaurants, grocery store and casino. I would definitely stay at this place again.

This Cabin has pretty much all you need to enjoy time in the mountains. Only wish there wasn't a fire ban at the time as the fire pit set up is fantastic. With a few updates, the cabin would be A. The host and owner were hands on and were there with any needs or wants. Any issues were resolved quickly and we enjoyed our stay. We even had the owner over for dinner after he quickly resolved something for us. Sylva is a great town. Thank you for a great time.

Nice rustic log cabin with good amenities. Theatre and game room was fun. Definitely need 4WD as the gravel road is steep in areas and can be slick when it rains. A nice location to get away from reality for a bit.

We really loved the vintage feel of natural cut wood under your feet and the open outside spaces to enjoy. Just minutes from WCU campus and Sylva, it was perfectly located for easy access to both locations. There were a few minor issues that didn't impact our overall stay and the host was VERY responsive. The only thing cramping the overall stay was having an occupied apartment over the garage (owners suite) which is mentioned in the post so it wasn't a surprise. We didn't think it would bother us a much as it did. We never saw the tenants of the space during our stay. There was ample space for our family of adults to spread out and not feel like we were on top of each other. The firepit was a great feature but make sure you're not under fire restrictions before planning on using it. As for reaching the property in Spring, we had folks with a front wheel drive only who had no issues getting up to the house.

We spent 4 nights with 12 people, but invited others Saturday for a total of 26 at a family get-together. We used most of the property’s amenities: fire pit, hot tub, game room, both kitchens, large back yard and deck, and grill. We did not need to use the movie room, but it looked like a great space. Kitchen appliances were clean and working. Loved the coffee maker that makes full pot or one cup and the stash of coffee. Everything we used worked as it should. The property is well-maintained inside and out, but not perfect. Criticism would be some furniture needs repair, but it was minor and maybe recent. There were plenty of plates, glasses, cookware, but not enough spoons and forks; not a big deal. The lighting is dim, and one living room light would not turn on even with the home app. During the day, the windows let in plenty of sun, but at night the main areas are dim. Some rooms have en-suite bathrooms, other rooms will need to share the bathroom in the adjacent room. Overall, I could not have found a more ideal location for a family gathering that met all our needs. The location is peaceful and secluded and has great parking. The architecture and design is unique and quite pretty. My questions were answered immediately through VRBO app. If you’re having a multi-day family reunion, this home is perfect for bringing everyone together with the big dining table, game room and deck, but also space to spread out, especially outside.

Spring Break 2025

We had a wonderful 3 days at this property in the Sylva/Dillsboro/Cullowhee area. It worked perfectly for our party of five as we enjoyed fishing for trout and golfing in the area. The house was perfect for our group, and the property management was fantastic in their communication throughout the process. The directions to get to the cabin were spot-on (yes, the roads are mountain roads, but we did just fine). Thank you for the great weekend!

Polar Express

Had a great visit, even though it was a rainy weekend. Tons to do in the cabin. Plenty of space for four families with children. The theater room was a hit! The basement/game room was also very popular…if we return to the area we will certainly rent again!

Was told no early arrival (which isnt a problem) but then when i arrive i would like it to be cleaned properly. Dirty towel and sponge in kitchen counters where not wiped down, microwave interior rusted (Do not use, serious health harzzard) rugs hadnt had the sweeper run on them. The windows were filthy . They said they sprayed them that morning for bees. Well spray was all over outdoor furniture, gas grill, hit tub etc.. hot tub had dirt in it and when we tried to play bocce ball we had to put a stick in the gound because you couldnt see the balls in the grass, because grass was not cut. They wanted to send a cleaning lady there, but i paid alot of money for family time and last thing i.needed was a cleaning lady cleaning around my families activities. Had to leave cabin more then planned to eat because of dirty appliances. Took pictures of everything if youd like to see. I presonally would not stay again. Also couldnt turn lights in livingroom on. No light switch worked so sat in dark.

We did a getaway for a joint bachelorette/Bachelor and the cabin was absolutely perfect. It was 7 couples and the stayed was very comfortable. Getting up to the house is a challenege if you drive a small car but its doable; for example we have 2 Honda Accords and 2 Camry's and we got up there with no problem.

Dual family gathering for Grandaughters graduation.

What an amazing place to stay for both sets of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins of my granddaughter to gather for her high school graduation. We enjoyed the few paths, fire pit, huge yard for games a! The space of the home allowed us to gather. It have a quiet place to go if needed. The theatre and games on lower level kept everyone entertained. Any questions we had was immediately responded too. The owner stopped by one evening, it was nice too meet him and chat.We will be back when opportunity allows!

Family Winter Break Snow Tubing Trip

This cabin was amazing for our family of 19. Kids ranging from 2 to 16. They had a blast making s’mores by the firepit, watching movies in theater room, playing pool, & plenty of space for all. Noah was the perfect host. Thank you again for the amazing hospitality & you have beautiful property!

Family Thanksgiving 2023

Perfect house, yard, activities, ping pong, billiards, theater, fire pit, outdoor lighting, and parking. We had difficulty and delay checking in because we were not given the check-in code or WiFi password prior to getting to the house the day of check-in. We could not access any WiFi so communication with VRBO or the maintenance group was impossible. We finally drove back to town to finally get anyone to help us. We had a group of 13!!! Once we finally got in the accomodations, it housed our group very nicely. The extra kitchen really helped with refrigerating & cooking our food. A couple of negatives: we were never able to get tv in master bedroom to work. No remote there, then management told us where to find a replacement….no batteries….remote didn’t work….tried to pair remote per management….no luck! A good bit of time & energy was spent trying, ugh! Fireplace on main level did not work properly. Fireplace downstairs made the whole area smell like leaked gas. Water pressure for upstairs kitchen was low. We did have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and loved the property. Thank you for having us. VRBO or this management could do a much better job with check-in and maintaining the property before guests arrive, and on-site resolution of problems.

Spacious and beautiful but Difficult to get to

My family enjoyed this property. Property is in Sylva not Dillsboro. That was a dissapointment for us. We would have reconsidered rental had we known. Property manager was told but I still do not see a correction on the listing. There was plenty of space outside and the fire pit was nice. You supply your own wood. The kitchen was spacious and 2nd fridge downstairs is handy. Kitchen not well stocked but good supply of dishes. Property manager did not have accurate knowledge of what the property had in kitchen. The property manager also told us there was soap, salt, pepper and oil which there was not. Not a big deal normally but the drive to get up the mountain was such a challenge we did not want to go back down in search of these items. We had a birthday party and it was a great location for the family to gather and celebrate. I would have loved to have seen a hot tub. The climb up the mountain was not easy. One car almost went over the side of the mountain (the car was half off the road and the passenger had to stay in car for two hours waiting for someone to pass by to help). We finally were able to find someone with a diesel truck to pull them back onto the road. Another car busted a hose trying to get up the mountain and car almost overheated. Fortunately we were able to find a mechanic on a sunday and find a replacement part - yay! The road really needs to be paved. There is an apartment connected to the house that we thought was part of the rental. It is not. It costs extra. Overall it was a good trip and we would stay there again but not at the price we were charged. Very nice house with beautiful master bedroom. Most rooms are small and some rooms have no closet and bathroom. Vrbo can be misleading with all the taxes and fees. I would rather work with a true price rather than a base price and then several add ons - it can be misleading. I did appreciate that the property managers responded quickly (after hours as well). We had several questions and waited for them to deliver things to us that never came but we were still happy with the place. Once in the driveway, It is easy to get in and out of. There is not a long walk from the entrance to the main part of the house which was nice because most of our party were older folks. I would probably rate our experience 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good gathering place for family.

Great Place and beautiful setting!

Our family traveled from 3 different states to be together for a weekend and this was the perfect place to do just that. We spent quality time sitting around the table for meals and enjoyed chatting on the porch over coffee on the beautiful patio. The stories told and the laughter shared around the firepit during our evenings will be reminisced over for many years to come. The time I shared with my great nephew watching funny movies in the theater are priceless and I will always hold those memories close. We had everything we needed. The coziness of the lovely cabin, the gorgeous setting on the mountain and a fun day-trip to Dillsboro would be hard to beat! I fell in love with Dillsboro and can’t wait to visit again.

Wonderful time

Our family of 13 had a wonderful time there. It was wonderful to have so many games for the kids 14 - 21. We had great time playing pool and ping-pong. The yard is beautiful, decks very large and wonderful! Kitchen was great with lots of room . The dishwasher had broken and they moved as quickly as they could to get a new one put in. The road is up but good after the road workers put more gravel on the road the day we left. It is not too steep and the roads are well marked. The house is quite beautiful and the owners are wonderful to work with. They helped us in many ways and were attentive and caring. We highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful home from n Sylva, NC

Our family stayed here including Grandparents, parents and kids ranging from 6-18. House was perfectly clean. Towels available for each family member. Kids loved the pool table, arcade game console and the theater room. We played bocce on the own and had a fire in the fire pit. Kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of room for a big group including grocery room with second refrigerator downstairs. The road to the house is steep and gravel but the Minivan made it up no problem. It would be challenging if there was snow. Overall great experience. Easy communication with property manager. I highly recommend staying here.

The home is a Montana-style true-log Cabin made of Spruce Logs. All the stonework outside is from stones from the property, and the home features some local art and locally sourced furniture to support the local economy. The main dining table seats 12 and is great for gathering and family meals, and is hand-hewn from japanese cedar wood. There is seating for 4 more at the Kitchen Bar table. All sofas are leather for cleanliness and comfort.

Stargazing at night is spectacular, and you can see the stars even from inside the home through the cathedral windows. Sometimes you'll even wake up to the sound of birds chirping. Its a nice peaceful place to relax and unwind and sometimes you can see deer or turkey trot around the front yard.

**There is an additional onsite separate entrance 1Bedroom/1Bath + full tile shower+ full kitchen and washer/dryer Studio apartment with queen bed available for rent separately depending on the week. The Apt is right next to the main house and may or may not be rented. If your group would like this additional space, Ask Availability Upon Booking for Pricing.**

MAIN HOUSE
The Main House has 3 bedrooms upstairs and 3 bedrooms on the main level.
The basement has a separate full kitchen, full bathroom, Arcade game with 1300 classic games, full sized Ping Pong Table, Tournament quality 7 foot Pool Murray Table, several DVD's, Puzzles and Board Games (Settlers of Catan, Monopoly, Chess, and more) and card/poker round table with poker chips. Badminton, Corn Hole, and Bocce Ball for outdoor lawn games. We also have a movie room that we recently switched from projector to 75” ultra HD 4K Samsung TV.

Outdoor seating for 15 with a stone patio dining table and 6 chairs, an outdoor padded bench for 3, and 6 Adirondack chairs. Oklahoma Joe BBQ Grill: 3 sections with Propane, Charcoal, and Smoker capabilities. We also have a baby seat for the main dinner table.

Main House Upstairs Level:
Room 1: King Suite: King bed with ensuite full bathroom + Smart TV, Dresser, Garment Rack
Room 2: Queen over Queen Bunkbed Room: Dresser + Garment Rack
Room 3: Queen Ensuite Room with dresser, closet, and full bathroom with tub + Smart TV

*There is a Hooker dresser for use for extra clothes storage at the entrance and between rooms 2&3.

++PLUS++ additional mattresses upon request ( we do charge a linen fee for the extra mattresses in the theater which can sleep another 6-8 people on 4 different additional high quality mattresses. please let us know if you would like the extra linens for your group)

The large finished natural light basement has plenty of games (see above), movie theater, full kitchen, full bath, and several floor mattresses and king+queen real mattresses (if you require additional floor mattresses, ask upon booking!). ALSO, the Local Jackson County Library in Sylva has TONS of free DVDs for rent. We do have some DVDs stocked, but they have a massive selection for those movie buffs among us!

OUTSIDE
The home has a large deck with 6 Adirondack Chairs, an outdoor Patio Dining Table with 6 chairs, an outdoor lounging bench, and a marble top coffee table with 2 chairs. The Deck has a Weber Grill with Propane. We try to provide propane but please bring your own tank as sometimes the previous guest empties the tank and our cleaners sometimes are unable to get the gas given their schedules.

The home sits on 7 private acres, in a small and private subdivision outside Sylva, NC. The area is known as Webster, and is 10-15 minutes from downtown Sylva and all of its amazing bars, restaurants, and activities. You are a short drive to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Maggie Valley/Waynesville, Highlands/Cashiers, Bryson City, Cherokee. 5 minutes from Western Carolina University and 10-15 min to Dillsboro.
