Welcome to DreamCatcher. Wake up to sunrise over the lake, spend the afternoon paddling or swimming from your private dock, and end the night in the outdoor sauna under the stars.

Our waterfront cottage near Sauble Beach is designed for relaxed summer escapes with familyand friends. An acre of zen gardens coupled with the calm waters of Shepard Lake are a perfect setting for golden sunsets and starry nights. 11 min to Sauble beach, 6 min to Dunes Golf Club, 45 min to Tobermory and 50 min to Blue Mountain = good times.

At DreamCatcher, the perfumed cedar wood burning sauna provides soothing therapy. Sunlight fills the vaulted cathedral ceilings in the great room while views of the shimmering lake sets the mood for the day. The 360 wrap around deck offers multiple areas for rest, relaxation and memorable conversations.

This is a private property. You will full access to the entire premises and the dock is fully private as well :)

Grocery, LCBO and Coffee Shops in all in a 5k radius for when you need reinforcements!

Guest have full and private access to the home and all grounds, sauna, courtyard, stone patio, BBQ, dock, and firepit all included!

    Family trip

    Perfect getaway spot

    This place was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. Communication with the owner was fantastic. I would highly recommend this spot!

    Was in the area for a"Guess where you will go" road trip package and needed a central place to stay. The waterfront views are amazing of this little hidden gem of a lake. We stayed 3 nights comfortably as there were several bedrooms to choose from. Jas was a responsive host and made sure we had everything we needed for our weekend. The only thing we wished was available was the hot tub. Timing of the weekend was too busy to try out the sauna. Maybe next time.

    Beautiful property

    Beautiful property with lots to offer, enjoyed the fire pit, sauna, deck and canoeing. Jas was fast to reply with any questions we had.

    Fabulous Family Get-Away

    Dream Catcher is a phenomenal vacation get-away for your own family or with some friends. The property is exceptional! It checked all of our boxes; large kitchen, dining room, bedrooms, LARGE outdoor living space/deck, sauna, dock at lake for kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding, and the breathtaking view from the large deck and dock. Morning coffee on the deck and/or dock; you can’t ask for anything better!!! Jas is a great host and very responsive! Highly recommend this piece of paradise on Lake Shepherd!!!

    The property is good. Really good getaway, beautiful views and facilities. Lots of places to sit around and relax. Really pretty at dusk and dawn. Communication was timely. Our extra requests were considered and negotiated as we had communicated ahead of time. However there were a few things that weren't available to us. The listing said there was 2 bathrooms but when we arrived one of the full bathrooms was not available to us. We were not informed about this and with a larger party this was a bit of a hassle. Our itinerary was a bit delayed because of this. He said that he would be sending someone to fix this but we never saw them in the duration of our visit. We had informed Jas of everything we noticed when when we arrived and he took that in its seriousness. There was a bit of a problem with constant hot water; our party included a 8 month old baby and she had an uncomfortable experience with the cold water. I think it's a good idea to bring a small heater for the basement because the upper level would be too hot and the basement too cold; especially at night. Above all our trip went well, a few mishaps; just our luck. Cheers!

    Wonderful lake front vacation spot

    I will start with my few cons to get them out of the way. The stair well down to the basement does not have a hand rail on it and being a mom with 2 kids ages 4 and 2 that made me nervous. My hubby and me just watched the kids a bit closer but they were perfectly fine. Next we trying to figure out how to turn on the shower to outside. With a little help from the host we got that going and it was very nice. We were not able to use the hot tub do to covid hopefully we might be able to use if and when we ever come back. Well that is all for the cons. Now for the the pros. The lake is beautiful and it was so peaceful. You might want to pack bug spray because the bugs were a little bad a night but that is to be expected by a lake. The kids loved jumping in the lake and sitting in the sauna. The property is beautiful and even though there are neighbours right next door you would never really know that with the lovely shade trees and privacy bushes which made my hubby who grew up in the country happier. There is a canoe that is provided to use which is very nice and the interior of the place was beautiful and clean. There was even a very lovely gift basket with some snake provided. My kids were really happy that there way pop corn in the basket because pop corn mean movie night. Last the host was so easy to get along with and very nice. My family would love to come back again and we highly recommend this place for your vacation.

    Outstanding location!

    The property was very clean and beautiful. The host was very nice and fast at responding. The location was amazing; 10 minutes to sauble beach and 25 minutes to see the sunset at South Hampton! Both are worth it! We would go back here for sure, but few things to note. The picture isn’t fully accurate, there weren’t muskoka chairs on decks. The ad when we requested the place said hot tub, then the package you get the week before said no using the hot tub. It is nice they supply life vests for the canoe. We moved chairs from other locations to dock and bon fire. We couldn’t find matches anywhere in the house and we are non smokers so we had to go ask a neighbour for a lighter. They were nice! There are no toddler/plastic plates and cups, it’s all glass so note that if needed. I agree with another comment, the stairs downstairs are too dangerous to welcome young kids and a railing needs to be added. The basement was damp and needs a dehumidifier in the summer when the a/c is on. We couldn’t stay in the bottom two rooms for our visit because of this, so we just made the basement off limits. We used a blow up mattress (which they had which was great) and brought a basement mattress upstairs so my kids slept on the floor in the big room and my parents slept in the second upstairs bedroom. Weird electrical in the main bedroom… when the light turns off, all electrical goes off. So our sound machine would turn off when the lights turn off which was frustrating but it was such a quiet area, we never had the kids wake up luckily. Next time we will bring a battery operated one. There were only 4 hangers in the entire place, so if you need them, request with notice. It says for 10 people but 10 people can not shower with hot water. Not even 2 back to back. We had to go to a wedding on the Saturday and we staggered an adult shower every hour and that worked. First day when we did a back to back there was no hot water for the second person. I will say in general, not just this listing, this “Covid” no sheets business is frustrating. That is not how you get covid. And there were blankets/covers on all beds. Just not sheets. Covid can be on sheets but not comforters? Silly. If a rental doesn’t want to do sheets, just be real and say that without the Covid excuse. But then the cleaning price should be lower if that service isn’t coming back, assuming the cleaning fee is the same as it was with the sheets service.

    Thank you so much for your review. Some notes in response to your observations. We have a sign in the upstairs rooms that clearly says to use the bottom of the two outlets for devices that need to remain on all night. The top outlets are linked to the switches as they are designed for floor lamps. Both top and bottom work when the lights are on and the bottom only work when lights are off. We texted your party 3 times during your stay asking if you have any questions and if your stay is going well. We would have reiterated this but we did not get any feedback on this point during your stay. We have received a couple of reviews now asking to have the railing for the basement attached. We will be addressing this and uploading new pictures to our listing showing that the basement walkway has a railing. We appreciate this feedback. We have had many guests across various platforms and never had anyone mention the basement is "Damp". Nevertheless we will invest in a de-humidfier as we know some guests can be very particular about little things. I'm not sure where we mentioned we would provide plastic cups and plates for toddlers. I admit we do not have them but I'm confused as to where we gave our potential guests the idea that this amenity would be provided? This is the same as mentioning that I also don't have a tennis court. I hope you see my logic here. Regardless, we will consider purchasing some items to help close this gap. The same applies for matches in the house. We have 2 BBQ lighters in the third drawer in the kitchen. Not sure why those wouldn't suffice. Lastly, we were VERY clear about sheets and hot tub use from the get go. It is written in our listing and mentioned again in our electronics house guide. Im not sure why your "general" feeling on this nuance is included in this very specific instance/review given that we were crystal clear about this. I realize this is your expectation across all listings on VRBO however this is our policy here at DreamCatcher and we were honest and straight forward about it when you booked. All in all, I am still grateful for your feedback. There were some key points in your review that we will expedite so we can improve our guest experience. It is our utmost priority. Thank you. All in all I appreciate your feedback on all fronts.

    Déceptions

    Odeur d’humidité, chambre au sous-sol sans fenêtre, effets du propriétaire partout, pas de place pour nos vêtements, valises, pas de support pour sécher 8 serviettes. 2 rouleaux papier toilette, 1 d’essuis-tout, 2 verres de vin pour 8 adulte/1 sem. Pas très propre. Lac boueux, frais supplémentaires pour le spa.

    Something for everyone at this property!

    We had a fabulous time at Jas’ place. He was very responsive and helpful through our stay. The cottage was well-maintained and had lots of space for our group. We enjoyed days on the large dock, and nights by the fire pit.

    Great birthday getaway

    Peaceful surroundings, lots of room for a large get together both in the cottage and throughout the yard. Bring extra chairs for the dock as the ones shown on the picture are not there. Close to Sauble Beach and stores to reload groceries and beverages.

It truly will be a escape for us all and for years to come.

    11 mins to Sauble beach and Sauble falls. More than 10 golf courses within 15 min drive and 40 mins from Tobermory! Breathtaking caves and conservation areas within minutes. Tons of ATV Trails. There are too many day trip options!
