The Pippi Room at Coast Wattle House

If you want a holiday with fresh air, clean beaches and peaceful bushland then you will love this place. Situated between Yamba and the famous Angourie surfing beach on NSW’s beautiful Northern Rivers Coast, our Pippi Room has a large bedroom with an adjoined bedroom with bunks to sleep two. We have a trundle bed as well, bringing the total guest capacity up to five. You have your own private balcony looking into the forest which fringes Lake Wooloweyah, and a spacious airy bathroom. You can fall asleep to crickets and wake up to birdsong. The main bedroom has a King-sized bed but can also be made up into two King Single beds. PLEASE NOTE THIS SUITE IS ACCESSED BY STAIRS. Bunk room guests are an addition fee.

DOG FRIENDLY. There is a green sports field across the road at the Community Hall. Although this is a popular dog-walking spot, it is rarely crowded. It has a children's playground and your dog can run, play and chase balls. Yamba has dog-friendly beaches and our closest beach is dog friendly. We are also close walking distance to the Lake’s boat ramp with picnic area. There are so many places to explore. Yamba region is fringed by stunning beaches and the relaxed town centre has many family friendly restaurants and coffee shops to enjoy. Most cafe’s are dog-friendly with outdoor dining. You can also take dogs on the Ferry service which runs across to Iluka and also conducts Clarence River tours.

Please note the base room rate is for the King-sized bedroom. Bunk room guests are charged at $40 per person per night. If two guests book and only require the main room then we may close the bunk room to avoid extra cleaning costs. We include a self-serve continental breakfast with seasonal fruit. You can make tea, coffee and toast in the room. And there is a good bar fridge and microwave in your room. You can also use the kitchenette outside your room. We do our best to cater for any special dietary needs for breakfast if you let us know in advance. Wi Fi is free, and there is on-site parking. Your hosts are live-in, on a separate floor, but available if you need anything.

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend, the room and bathroom were modern and comfortable, clean, cosy and private with a calming view of the forest. The hosts are very friendly and supportive with great communication. Thank you so much.

Ruth and John were so welcoming of our family and dog. The accommodation was excellent - snuggly tucked away looking out over the forest - and had all the comforts we needed and lots of thoughtful extras. There was bread, fruits, juices, cereals and snacks for breakfast, a drawer full of towels and blankets to make our dog comfortable, tennis rackets to play on the courts over the road and John even dug out some fishing rods when we mentioned our son was keen to go fishing. The location is great - right opposite a nice little park and playground where our dog could get some exercise and just down the road is a national park with a spectacular coastal walking track. There are so many other beautiful places to explore nearby and Yamba just down the road. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer, but we will definitely be back. We’ve stayed at many places with our dog, and this one has been the most welcoming of her by far.

Lovely little area just outside of Yamba

Ruth and John are great hosts and made the trip for my partner and I with our 14 month old and greyhound very enjoyable. 5 minutes out of Yamba in what feels like a rainforest getaway!

Amazing stay from start to finish

Ruth and her family were welcoming to us and our two pups. We throughly enjoyed our stay and their hospitality. The bed was comfortable and the space is warm and incredibly inviting. We have already suggested to several of our friends that staying with them is must when in the area. We can’t wait to visit again.

Comfortable bed & breakfast

Very peaceful with lovely outlook. Quite well equipped. Freindly and helpful owners. Great to be able to bring our little dog. Yamba is a lovely little town and interesting sites in vicinity.

Stunning!

Ruth’s place was absolutely perfect! The space is tidy and modern with a lovely little deck that overlooks the rainforest. They provided breakfast essentials and fresh fruit, and were welcoming and helpful about the local area. Will be back for sure!

Relaxing nature retreat

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay in the Pippi room. The room is very private, surrounded by nature, and you can hear the birds singing in the morning. The room was spotless and spacious, with a lovely balcony to enjoy breakfast with a stunning view. It’s just a short drive to the beach, making it a nice retreat at the end of the day. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind and connect with nature.

tranquil setting

A lovely location in a rainforest setting. Easy drive to town and dog friendly beaches and cafes. The hosts have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable. My only suggestions (as a retired Interior Designer) would be towel rings on either side of the bathroom mirror, and maybe the inclusion of a small electric BBQ on the balcony. We (and our Labrador) loved it!!

Peaceful Rainforest Setting

My husband and our two toy poodles were made to feel very welcome. We appreciated the well appointed room, extremely comfortable bed and verandah and spacious bathroom. The facility to safely park and charge our electric vehicle were also much appreciated. We would certainly return here.

Absolutely amazing stay with Ruth & John! We stayed with our 3 year old pup and it was perfect. Room is well thought out and practical, location is basically 5 minutes drive from a multitude of quiet and beautiful beaches ( nature walks within walking distance). It was a shared entrance, but we came and went as we pleased with zero problems. We had a beautiful breakfast (provided by the hosts) on the balcony each morning which was a great way to start each day. Everything you need is there. Would love to stay again.

Just so peaceful and beautiful

We loved our stay. We booked very last minute and Ruth was very accommodating to have our room ready in time. The studio is just beautiful. So quiet and peaceful with a lovely aspect of the rainforest. The bed super comfy and the bathroom was great. Our fur baby came along and was welcomed like it was his own home. Thanks so much Ruth and we look forward to returning one day. We highly recommend Ruth’s place to anyone.
