Om overnatningsstedet

Do you know the definition of slope side? Welcome to Snolodge!

This is as high up as you can lodge to ski in and ski out on Salamander, Timberline Mountain's famous beginner's slope. The skiers in your group will love it! Spectators and photographers will too. Snolodge offers great ski access and spectacular views too. It is so easy to stop for lunch, warm by the fire or become a spectator from the outside hot tub! Let it snow, let it snow! Snolodge offers garage parking plus everything you need to hunker down and enjoy winter. This spacious four-bedroom home is the perfect place for a multigenerational get-together in every season. It is a wonderful spot for family and friendly get-togethers. The open main level floor plan will work well for the cooks, the kids, and the couch potatoes too. Shoot a game of pool while supper simmers and finish the day gazing at Canaan Valley's amazing night skies. It is short drive to tourist attractions like Blackwater Falls, Canaan Resort, and the towns of Davis and Thomas. Snolodge really does feel like home. Your well behaved dog is welcome to vacation too, with a small pet fee. ALL OR 4-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES WITH GOOD CLEARANCE AND GREAT TIRES ARE A DEFINITE REQUIREMENT FOR ALL WINTER VISITORS!!

Loved the location and set up of lodge

We absolutely loved the lodge. It was all the way at the end and was super quiet and peaceful. It was super clean and had everything you could need to cook with and plenty of towels/blankets. We had a very easy experience with management as well. Overall super great!

Annual Family Trip

We had a fantastic stay at Snolodge! Our family has been going to Canaan/Timberline for the last 50+ years. We have grown so much in number and we needed an additional house for everyone. Snolodge was perfect in both location and size. If you stay in the winter months you will need 4WD!! We will be returning!

OLD LADIES GROUP

The group of cousins get together every year for a week. This year we chose this area and what a great week it was. The house is beautiful and suited our needs. We set on the deck and socialized with the hikers and animals on the slope. Great week for everyone!!

Long weekend in the mountains

The overall stay was good. The home was older and some things could use some TLC but, beds, towels, hot tub, couches, carpet were all very fresh and clean. There was a great variety of kitchen appliances and cookware. The fire place was amazing and they had an abundance of really good firewood. The property managers were great and were very quick to respond to us. Such a memorable trip with family and friends!

Biker trip to Snolodge!

Very nice but needs a lot of maintenance. All blinds on sliding doors need replaced. Called maint. About leaking toilet and no internet and neither was fixed. Pool table nice but only 2 of 5 cue sticks had felt tips. Moldings missing in rooms.

Not worth the money they wanted.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice vacation, very peaceful, except for the construction traffic moving up and down the hill next to the house. The mouse in the house was an unexpected guest. House needs updated. Cobwebs need removed. Blinds and windows need work. No bed in the loft as pictured. Ants were an issue. Both main showers dripped.

We appreciate your feedback. We will get those issues taken care of. Unfortunately, we did have to remove the beds from the loft due to some safety issues and those are no longer advertised in the sleeping arrangements.

Great Ski In/Ski Out Rental

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You definitely need AWD or 4WD to get to the Snolodge if the conditions are snowy/icy. Other than that, the view is amazing, right on the Salamander, beautiful wood fireplace and lots of room for guests.

Please Clean and Update

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 3rd year in this house. The layout is perfect for our family and we love the large open floor plan upstairs. However, this year we had a BIG challenge with the house's cleanliness and general maintenance. We love the fireplace, but noticed lots of black soot inside and out this year. The ceiling in the living room is gross, it needed cleaned last year. The refrigerator is making a loud sound. There must be something wrong with the electric running to the hot tub, we have had problems with it turning off each year...this year we asked a maintenance person to come. (When calling, we weren't treated great and were told that the on call person was busy getting a haircut.) The basement toilets are both slow and one leaking slightly. The dust lining the chair rail in the main level en suite bathroom was so thick I could write my name. Kitchen cabinets are grime covered and a layer of dust is visible in many areas. We want to book this house again, but are seriously concerned about what state the house will be in a year from now. Please do a comprehensive clean and the necessary updates. Or sell it to me, and I will and then book it through your site. Again, we love this house for our annual family trip...but someone must do better or we can't book with confidence.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location, responsive management group when issues arose and couldn’t beat the convenience/location for the price. Its not the most updated, but had everything you need for a couple days of skiing, including fully stocked wood for the fireplace. The hot tub overlooking the slopes was great with kids bc it kept everyone entertained!

Beautiful Location

The area is great for hiking and water falls. (we saw Blackwater Falls, Elakala Falls, Douglas Falls) We also toured Healthberry Farm (by appointment) and did some honey and mead tasting, and quickly realized we love mead (honey wine)! We did a little shopping in Thomas and Davis which are very artsy, had rainbow flags and lots of CBD. Loved the hot tub in the evenings. One night it was clear enough to see the stars and oh my, there are so many and they're so bright! The house is great for family or groups. The queen beds need a mattress topper, but the twin beds were comfortable. We had two problems with the place, unfortunately there was a mouse that got into our food each night and we had to throw some of it away. And we didn't realize that the house has no air conditioning so in the afternoons it was pretty uncomfortable. They did provide several fans which helped, and fortunately it cooled off in the evenings so sleeping was tolerable with the windows open. Overall, we would come back, but not in the summer.

Snolodge Rental

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed for a three nights during one of the last weekends of February. The property was great, we played pool, sat in the hot tub and most importantly we hit the slopes all in one location. Everyone loved the location, those who skied and those who didn't, because we could stop and see them during our runs. I wish it was a little easier to get on the slope but it wasn't too bad. We had plenty of room for everyone and may ask more to join us for next season, since we booked it again. Thank you.

Snolodge on the Salamander

The house was comfortable, great fireplace, great access to slopes and great views of the slopes! The property is fairly dated but that didn’t make it uncomfortable. REALLY needs ski racks and gear racks in the entry or garage.
