The cabin was listed as a 3 bedroom but is actually 1 room with 3 beds. No curtains on any windows which seemed weird. Was dirty as if it hadn’t been cleaned since the last guests left. Property is very nice and considering the cheaper price it’s kinda worth it.

Thanks for the feed back Dan. Havung no curtains when there are only two windiws upstairs isnt fitting for 2 star review. Message me about what was dirty about it so i can figure out how that happened. Thx David.

We were looking for a remote cottage with a lot of privacy and this was just what we (my daughter, parents and aunts) were looking for. When we arrived, it was even more scenic than we had thought. The property is at the end of one of the private roads and the closest neighbour was a couple of hundred meters away. We had a full kitchen, outdoor BBQ, access to a fridge and freezer and access to the dock (complete with paddleboard and two kayaks). The fishing was great too using the kayaks. There is a nice firepit with lovely view of the stars from the dock afterwards. David was also a very nice person to deal with during the whole process.

Lovely rustic cabin, which we were able to book on short notice after we had to change camping plans at the last minute due to inclement weather. Dave was very responsive and easy to get a hold of. There were a few maintenance issues but nothing that impacted our stay significantly. If you are looking for spotless and fancy, this place is not for you. If you are looking for a lovely, private cabin to spend time with family or friends in a beautiful spot with swimming, kayaking, campfires and a few glamping extras like a Smart TV, wifi, indoor plumbing and a well equipped kitchen (including a freezer!) this is the perfect place. As per previous comments there is one large open loft area with all the beds, which were really comfortable. There aren’t too many window coverings but the cabin is very private and the only thing looking in the windows will be moths and squirrels, The big windows also keep it bright and airy in the day. There are great cycling trails nearby, including the old IB&O Rail trail. If you are exploring the area we can also highly recommend a casual drive to Ted’s Burger Wagon for some epic fresh-cut fries! We had a very relaxing time and are grateful Dave is willing to share this spot!

Cool place in the woods, owner is great to deal with very easy going and answers question right away, this is a true cabin in the woods, he set up really good Wi-Fi.

Quiet & relaxing

It’s a nice spot. It needs a little maintenance but we weren’t looking for luxury we were there to fish and enjoy the outdoors. The fishing was great, overall we had a great time.

We really enjoyed our stay. The trees afforded lots of privacy from nearby cottages and the lake was pretty quiet (we saw more wildlife than people on the water, including a doe and her fawn by the water and a mother loon with her two babies). There were plenty of watercraft available to keep us busy and entertained during the day, and even though the temps were pretty cool overall, the lake was warm and we had tons of fun swimming. The host communicated promptly and left clear directions. He reached out to let us know the fire ban was lifted so we were able to have a fire on our last night. I would recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a quiet and fun getaway on the lake!

Hidden Paradise

We really enjoyed our stay at the log cabin. Nice drive down a dirt road that has some rocks to watch out for but leads to a great spot. The cabin itself is spacious and stocked with everything you need for a long stay. Lots of animal sounds at night and some sightings during the day. The lake is clear and perfect for kayaking/swimming. Will definitely be coming back very soon - 100% recommend this listing.

Lots of potential

The cottage had a lovely rustic feel on a nice quiet lake. There is a lot of potential to this place. We had issues with the plumbing while we were there. David did compensate us for the issues.

An Unforgettable Lakeside Getaway – Pure Magic!

We just returned from the most incredible stay at this stunning cottage by the lake, and we’re already counting down the days until we can go back! Everything about our experience was perfect—from the location to the amenities to the warm, welcoming hospitality.Me, my husband, our 9 year old, our lab too!perfect for the 3 of us :)The cottage itself is absolutely beautiful—thoughtfully designed, extremely cozy, and impeccably clean. Every detail has been considered, from the luxurious beds (truly the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in!) to the top-notch appliances, including an espresso maker, coffee machine, air fryer, and everything else you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. The interior feels like a warm hug, and the views… breathtaking. Waking up to the shimmering lake and ending the night under a blanket of a million stars was pure magic.Our days were filled with swimming, fishing, paddle boating, and relaxing by the firepit in the evenings, and reading on the deck!Dave is an exquisite host—attentive, kind, and incredibly helpful. He went above and beyond, providing detailed recommendations not just for enjoying the cottage, but also for exploring the surrounding area and making the most of our stay.We absolutely loved it and would come back in a heartbeat. It was everything we hoped for and more. If you're looking for the perfect escape into nature without sacrificing comfort and style—this is it. Don’t hesitate. Just book it!

Not what it seems

The listing was very misleading. Upon arrival, we found the only bathroom sink to be not working correctly, it spewed water when turned on, the only shower faucet leaked and the toilet ran which we were instructed to turn off the valve for that. As we had booked for 4 days, my family needed to be able to wash at some point but couldn't so by the end of the week we were all in serious need of a shower and very uncomfortable. This is a huge hygienic problem which should have been repaired before being rented to us as we booked back in April. The owner informed us upon arrival, with written instructions, that we should stow our dried food so that mice would not be attracted which we did, in totes we brought, but every night once the lights went out the cabin was infested with them. My husband had to set traps that he went to buy. To add to the disappointment, the ad stated swimming was an option but when we went to do so, there were leaches everywhere and one attached to my daughter leading us to avoid that for the week. We paid a lot of money for such a disappointing time. What was supposed to be relaxing turned out to be frustrating and stressful. The property, while beautiful, was not upkept with long grass and garbage from previous renters as well. I expected all the amenities that were listed in the listing to be available and they were not. These are only a few of the frustrating issues we encountered during our stay. In the end I would definitely not recommend renting this cabin. The owner was easy to communicate with but sadly he either doesn't have to time, money, or knowledge of how to fix these issues.

I appreciate the feedback Shannon. The Cabin is in the middle of the woods and on a beautiful calm and quiet spring fed lake. Depending on the time of the year, the "weeds" actually bloom brilliant flowers during different moths that attract all kinds of wild life. An abundance of Fireflies in late June for example. I used to keep the property neat (fully cut). I stopped last year and noticed that letting nature do what it does brought out the best. Depending on the time of year. Sorry your month wasn't great for the weeds but April/May/June/July are brilliant. Guests in from May to July of course deal with bugs. August. Not so much. Trade offs! The Cabin is going through renovations. Many others have thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Through incremental improvement I appreciate your candor. There is work to be done. Problems with plumbing are noted and recent. I am working to have this resolve ASAP however securing the recourses is not as quick and simple as it seems. Thanks again, Dd

David the host, was responsive and communicative. Very pleasant and laid back. The property is as advertized, a log cabin at the end of the road on a small lake 20 minutes into the bush. It’s like roughing it with comfortable beds. It would be great for a fishing trip. We’re a small family and it was plenty of space for the three of us. Lots to do with the 2 kayaks, a paddle board and a swim pad out on the lake. We took board games and watched movies on the rainy days. The main cabin space and kitchen were great for hanging out and cooking. The back deck and dock were awesome for enjoying nature and having a BBQ. We didn’t get to use the fire pit this time but it looked like a good spot too.Very private, quiet and relaxing.

Our stay here was excellent. Beautiful little lake to swim in. The grass was really long but nothing that affected our time! We lost power at the place and Dave was very quick to update us with that.
