Property was just as described. We loved the quiet neighborhood and having water access and boat slip was perfect for our stay. Would stay again. Should have booked it for two weeks!

Family fun and relaxing

We love this home. We have booked it twice . Due to the location, I love that its not in a hight traffic area , it peacefully located, and great water access. Fun for all ages .

waterfront

Was a good place to stay dock was a plus, caught several fish off of it. Boats were able to pick us up at the house which was nice.

location was awesome

The house was a little outdated, but we already knew that before we booked. The location made up for that. we had a blast; The dock was perfect for the boat, and they supplied a kayak that was a lot of fun.

Thank you for the review. As you noted, we do not make it a secret that this house is more rustic than most other rentals. The owner is of that generation; and the house has been in his family for years. The house is maintained in a fashion that keeps his childhood memories alive.

Thank you for staying. This property will be updated this fall. It is in a secluded location that people love for the ability to boat and fish. This house is more like a rustic cabin by the lake; and as of this post, is not a luxury property.

Dated is an understatement

We arrived early to the property around 3:15PM. Check-in was 4PM. We found the cleaners were still there and left shortly after our arrival. Upon inspecting the unit, we found dirt, hair and food debris all over the unit. The bed linens in some of the rooms were stained. There was trash and fish guts all over the backyard. All of the external garbage cans were full and covered with flies. The outside of the property stunk of trash and fish. There is a tree in the front yard making contact with a powerline causing arching (very unsafe situation). There were holes in the wood paneling in an upstairs bedroom. Wood paneling in other parts of the upstairs was bulging and cracking. The upstairs smelled of mildew. The back patio was disgusting, including a grill that looked to have never seen a cleaning. There were dirty cookie sheets left on the outside grill. Regarding the management company, I contacted them immediately and waited to hear back. We provided photo evidence of the above mentioned situations to our contact. Cleaners were redispatched the following day to fix the inside. When I asked about the outside situation, I was told "the cleaners are only responsible for the inside".. great, who's taking care of the trassh and fish guts and overflowing garbage cans? The interaction with the management company felt very transactional that lacked any empathy or remorse for the situation. There has been no follow up or attempt to reconcile the situation.

Why guests think they are entitled to early check in is beyond us. You arrive early and rush our cleaners, then expect the place to be ready for you. Yes, this house is rustic and is more like a lake cabin. That said, it does need some repairs and updating, which are expected to be completed this fall. None should impact a stay at this time, unless you are expecting a modern luxury home. If so, this isn't a place you will want to stay for now. The power company has removed the tree touching the lines. Trash is picked twice a week and your arrived before a trash pickup day. We provide multiple cans, but some people fill them. We can't control that.
