Perfect weekend getaway

Beautiful Home

This home is perfect for a family get together. The surrounding neighborhood isn’t the best but the location is close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

Weekend wedding

Came in for my niece’s wedding and the property was great for multiple families. Check in and check out times a little restrictive, but nice accommodations.

Family weekend

Lots of bedrooms with tons of kitchen amenities. Also had a crib in one room. Kids loved the huge upstairs room where they could play.

Perfect place for a family gathering!

We had family from 3 parts of the country meet in St. Louis for Thanksgiving - this property was perfect for our stay! The house was incredibly clean and the most well-stocked vacation home I've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in many in the US and abroad!). The beds were very comfortable, house was very spacious and decorated so well, the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make a huge Thanksgiving meal. It was perfect! Thank you for making our family retreat so special!

Older house with some character, but overall nice. There were only 3 working showers, which we made do with. There were some more serious issues though. When we arrived the gas had been turned off so we had no hot water, house heat, or ability to cook. Two days later, after begging planet fitness to let the group of us take showers, the gas man came to fix the gas. He then checked the inside lines, the water heater and the stove. When he got to the stove, he realized the gas had been turned on the whole time, so I guess it was lucky the bill wasn't paid, and the knobs on the stove were completely wrong, so there was no way to regulate the gas. He took the knobs off and told us under no circumstance to use the stove. Overall the house itself was nice, but it definitely needs upkeep and be prepared to eat out A LOT if you do stay here.

Quilters Getaway

Nine of us women gathered from five different states for our now annual quilting retreat. We were able to spread out with eight sewing machines, three ironing boards, and 3 cutting stations. The kitchen is a great size and so well equipped! Beds are comfortable. Everything is clean and perfect. We'll be back!

Great Gathering Place

Our family was in town for our daughter's thesis defense. 9 family members came in from the northeast, along with our daughter and BF that joined us for meals every day. This house was just perfect! We had enough beds and bedrooms, bathrooms and the central gathering places - kitchen, dining and living were such a nice size that we did not feel cramped. Pictures of the house are accurate. Communication with the owner/property mgr were so nice and accommodating.

Amazing Late Family Holiday

This property is amazing. The neighborhood was very quiet, never heard a sound. House was the best we could have asked for. 9 of us were there and never felt on top of each other. Took us about 15 min to get to The Arch and The Aquarium. 2.5 miles from The Hill for some amazing Italian food.

Book Club 20th Anniversary Getaway

The house layout worked perfectly for our group of 9 girlfriends. We walked to a terrific garden center/restaurant, Bowood by Niche for a delicious lunch. Management and the cleaning staff gave us an early check in, which was nice. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood, seeing renovation projects and walking into a gorgeous neighborhood on the National Historic Register. We visited the St Louis Art Museum, enjoyed the Monet and Mitchell exhibit and then a yummy lunch in the museum’s restaurant. We enjoyed a dinner on The Hill and another snack-dinner in the dining room at the house. Perfect girl trip.

Family Stay for SLU Graduation

Grand La Chambre was a great home base for our family, in from out of town, for the SLU graduation. It was very clean and spacious, with plenty of beds and bathrooms for our group of 6. The kitchen was large and well-equipped, including a table around which we all could sit. Parking was easy, both in front on the street and around back, off an alley, onto a pad that led right to the back deck. While the neighborhood was sparse and still under-developed, it was very convenient to the university, groceries, some great restaurants and downtown. Our four day stay was very enjoyable, far more so than had we rented rooms at a hotel. Thank you!

Our group has stayed here every summer for 5 years. In fact, we were the very first guests, The property is in need of some proper care. They have known since at least 2022, about the 2nd floor shower and it's lack of proper slope and thus, improper drainage. Now, they have ceiling issues in the kitchen, and the shower is " out of service". So, they advertise 4 showers for 8 people and now we're down to 3. The shower has been unusable for months, based on other reviews. The next day, we discovered the shower door on the 1st floor is off the track, and therefore unusable. I notified abodebucks, sent a picture as requested, and heard nothing more. The grout on this bathroom is also in need of attention. It's crumbling.And then it started raining. The main bathroom, also on the 2nd floor, was covered in water. This has become the main shower for 6 of us. The water was coming through the vents, and it was not the first time. There were water stains in several areas in the bathroom. We started seeing water dripping into the kitchen. Again I sent pictures. The said they would inform the team. So, we used every towel and rug to sop up the water.This house has alot of great features. We love the kitchen and the dining room. But there is not enough plates, glassware or flatware to have 16 guests, let alone 10. Since we stay at the house and rarely go out, we do dishes alot. When I asked for more TP and dishwasher pods, they said "to look under the kitchen sink".

Disappointed stay

This house reeked of marijuana and cigarettes even though it is listed as a non-smoking residence. Stair edges were broken and dangerous, 2nd floor shower leaks all over the floor and the property was not clean. Attempt was made to break into our cars. Very frustrating and disappointing

Great Location Amazing layout

We had a wonderful time in St Louis and at the La Chambre. The house is perfectly located close to everything a family would want to do on a Spring Break family vacation. We were minutes from the Zoo, Arch, Union Station, and the City Museum. The house is conveniently located next to a lot of great restaurants which offered a variety of options and great atmosphere. The house itself has a great layout with a Bedroom downstairs for my mother and plenty of space for my teenagers to veg out by themselves after a long day together. We enjoyed the kitchen layout where we even cooked a great family meal together. Check in process was a little different than other VBRO that we have stayed in but understand the importance of safety and thoroughness and it all worked out. The hosts were very responsive. The house and city made for a wonderful trip. I would highly recommend this house to any large group or mixed aged family. You will love it!

We booked this place to stay as a team while competing at the 2026 Robotics World Championships. The house was spacious as described with more than enough bedding for the 10 of us. But the surrounding area gave us an eerie feeling, as seen from photos of the buildings. The Uber driver on our way to the house, strongly advised us against venturing out! We loved the expansive kitchen and dining area, and used it to prepare breakfast and dinner so that the team can concentrate on the tournament. But on our fourth day, we saw a note from the local gas company on the door, that service has been shut off due to non-payment of dues by the owner. I can understand an unexpected event like work being performed by the gas company, but failing to pay the service bill when you are renting it out on Vrbo is not excusable. They could not get it resolved for the reminder of our stay, resulting in additional meals expense for us, not to mention we had to discard groceries we had already purchased.The next day turned out to be a unusually rainy and cold day at St Louis in an otherwise warm week. It is also the day of the finals at the Robotics World Championships. Our team had worked over the years for what is possibly once in a lifetime chance. Unfortunately, without the gas and hot water in the shower, we had to start our day with a cold shower and makeshift breakfast. As a coach and a parent, I am a bit disappointed that we were unable to provide even the basic needs to our US team.
