Great location in Charleston

Stayed 5 nights and had a great stay. Very nice kitchen and lots of southern charm. Bed was very comfortable and house was well equipped. You can definitely hear the freeway but it quickly faded to background noise. Very convenient location for bars and restaurants.

We loved the location and easy access to downtown via walking or using CARTA. Also lots of nice little restaurants around the neighborhood. We loved the shrimp & grits at Big Bad Breakfast just around the corner. Kitchen was very nice and so was the laundry capability. The home delivers what is promises.

The post stated there was parking and as soon as I booked it I received a text stating there was NO parking and I should find a parking garage ( there was not one that I could find within a mile) I parked in a lot .5 miles away that was not all night parking and had to add money at 3 am it was very frustrating! The neighbors were up late and loud. The house was fine and the beds were comfortable.

The listing clearly states we have no off street parking. We always advise reading the listing carefully before booking to avoid disappointment.

Such a Great Location!

Our families have vacationed in CHS for years, but we wanted to experience downtown near King St. and this house was amazing for that! Great location and just minutes of a walk from King St. We shopped! We ate! We danced! We loved it. Would stay here again!

We had an unexpected visit to Charleston and landed at Gertie’s. It’s so close to everything so we didn’t need a car. Walking was easy (albeit warm) and getting a Lyft was a piece of cake. Because of the walking, we slept soundly and the beds/pillows were perfect for what we needed. There is road noise but we were wiped out each night. The first floor was a hug from AC when you first come in, the second floor is warmer, and the cute little third floor bathroom was similar to the first floor. The kitchen was wonderful and had everything we needed if we chose to eat at Gertie’s. There is a laundry station right off the kitchen which was exactly what we needed. There’s so many awesome places to dine/get drinks within a mile of the place! Gertie’s left us a wonderful bottle of wine with some lovely cookies which we appreciated and enjoyed. Staying at Gertie’s is a wonderful way to enjoy a historic home in Charleston. We will define stay again when we come back to Charleston.

A week in Charleston..

We had an amazing stay! The rental was spotless, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, responsive, and went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay with excellent amenities!

For the last 2 nights on our stay, there were screaming college boys outside of our porch all night long playing beer pong with loud music. Very disrupting.

We take noise concerns very seriously and maintain strict quiet standards for our properties. Had we been notified during your stay, we would have acted right away. While the neighboring units are not managed by us, the surrounding property managers are responsive to these situations and will contact police when necessary. We work hard to address issues like this as quickly as possible when given the opportunity. This home does offer an original Charleston experience in a lively downtown location near Upper King, but we absolutely understand how frustrating late-night noise can be and appreciate you sharing your comments.

Great quick getaway!

Overall, this place was exactly what we needed! It was close to everywhere we needed to go and short uber/lyft trips away from downtown and isle of palms. There was plenty to see just around the corner with little shops and restaurants! I would stay again.

Amazing Weekend

We had an amazing weekend staying at Gertie's Downtown. The unit was extremely clean and very convenient to everything on King Street. The home is a very charming historic home with lots of room and everything you need to enjoy your stay. The communication from iTrip was amazing and check-in was super easy. We will definitely stay again!

The inside of this property is lovely and unique. It had all the features we needed for a wonderful stay. When we couldn’t get the smart TV to work, the hosts answered right away!But the walls are very thin, the neighborhood is loud with people and traffic and the parking was difficult.

Walkable to downtown

Great location with walkability to many shops and restaurants. We also walked to the college. Clean place with everything we needed for a long weekend.

Great location, a little noisy

Great location and home overall! The house is definitely older and you can hear the freeway and neighbors pretty loudly, but that definitely did not ruin our stay. Host was very communicative, and the house had great historic charm!
