Everything was great except we lost power on Friday and it did not come back on. We had no electricity so we couldn’t shower and we couldn’t clean up.

Wonderful house in a beautiful setting.

We stayed early in August for a week. The house is lovely with plenty of space, beautiful views from the upper floor, two outside decks lovely for morning coffee and evening star watching. Everything we needed was in the house. The kitchen and bathrooms are a nice size. We walked to the beach every day, just a few minutes' walk. We hope to return next summer!

Highly recommend this property. My teens and tweens loved the top floor family room with the upper deck. There were lots of games provided. The bathrooms are not huge but function well. Not a fan of provide your own linens but nice blankets and bedspreads were provided. The air conditioning worked well. The kitchen has plenty of dishes and utensils just check all the cupboards. The island is rustic covered with one lane roads but everyone is courteous and we had no problems getting to and from the mainland. We used the tide charts to find when access was limited and planned our comings and goings accordingly. On our last full day on the island we watched the tide come in. Lots of kids came to jump off the bridge and play in the tide pools. Fun.

All great! The house is perfect for beautiful walks at any time of day. Comfortable living spaces, especially the top floor, which looked like it would have been too hot in the afternoons but actually was lovely with the fan on. The games were a nice addition, especially “Say What”There was one little mechanical issue that got resolved within two hours of my texting the management company about it. Maintenance came while we were out so it was no inconvenience at all.Two things to be aware of - 1. The spiral staircase may not be the best for small children (there was a gate in the house though), and 2. If you are leaving or coming back to the island by car, you have to consider the tides. The owners provide a chart for this so it’s no problem as long as you plan ahead. Well done! Highly recommended!

This house had all the vintage Cape Cod charm we were looking for while offering some modern touches like AC units in every room and WiFi. The house offers a lot of artistic character with mosaics and artistic touches throughout the home and yard. Tucked away in the woods it was the perfect way to disconnect from the modern world and is a nature lovers dream - we loved the beautiful gardens in the front and enjoyed walking the trails through the marsh, bird watching, and visiting the island beaches. We’re avid sky watchers and the lack of light pollution on the island allowed us to see some great sights like the milky way. We also recommend catching the sunset from kayak beach. The 3 story and 2 deck configuration of the home allowed enough space for our family to enjoy time together without feeling crammed. Our kids really loved the spiral staircase and living room and deck upstairs but it could be tricky for a family with younger children to navigate. Being on Lieutenant Island requires you to embrace the ocean tides as they impact the road, beaches, and trails but the chart provided by the owner allowed us to prepare accordingly and we didn’t have any trouble.

Great location for Island living

Many parts of this house are great. The location is perfect for walking to a lovely, private feeling beach where we also put our kayaks. The house itself is older than the pictures made it look! The kitchen was large enough and very well stocked! The living room upstairs is lovely and spacious.We were somewhat disappointed in the beds. The mattresses seemed older and the twin beds more like metal cots. This is a tricky/ difficult house for a toddler. The spiral staircases are difficult for young ages…although we did find a wonderful gate to use. There is ample space outside where we set up a small pool for our grandson..he had lots of fun. Staying on the Island is both beautiful and time restricted. But this is island life, slow and more thoughtful

We do appreciate that spiral staircases may present a challenge for some and that is why it is noted in the listing description. Regarding the beds, the owners have replaced the twin beds in the lower level. Again, feedback is always appreciated and gives us and our owners the opportunity to improve on an already great house in a very magical part of Wellfleet!
