Imagine relaxing for a week in the quiet luxury of the Bear Necessities (hardly bare at all!)
Spend your vacation sunning in the back yard with it’s incredible view of Lake Huron and enjoying the serenity of down time on the sheltered back deck. Front row seat to the most beautiful sunsets in Ontario over Lake Huron!
Stretch out in the large living room in front of the fireplace, or go down to the lower relaxing room, with another large screen TV. Mealtime is a joy with a beautiful dining room table and large kitchen with all the amenities to make gourmet meals. You will probably grill up a lot of meals outside on the deck and after supper head into Grand Bend for Ice Cream and some shopping. Don't feel like cooking? No problem, within a 2-10 minute drive there are many restaurant options available.
And the BEACH!! Bare Necessities is just a few steps away from the best beach in the area! Many of our guests come to this area just for the beach alone. Please note that there are NO direct steps behind the cottage to the beach. However, there is a public access literally less than a one minute drive north of the property with lots of sand and clean water make it a safe place for the kids to enjoy swimming. This public access is a well kept secret among the locals and the beach is never busy as a result.
Bear Necessities has just undergone major renovations in 2022/23 to update and make it a comfortable place for your family to enjoy some well deserved time together. It now has brand new bathrooms, extensive kitchen with coffee & wine bar and a massive island perfect for gathering around, new beds, full laundry room as well as a large comfortable family room that walks out onto a large brand new covered back deck. It is a 4 bedroom, 3 full bathroom home.
We are pleased to be able to offer you this luxury cottage all year round! Winters are tranquil & peaceful and the view over the Lake Huron is amazing all year long.
Cottage comes with a fully equipped kitchen, 3 smart TVs, fire pit and chairs, lots of outdoor seating, beach chairs and outdoor lawn games and so much more.
Parking for 3 cars maximum.
Reduced rates in off season between September 15th - May 15th - contact us inquire.

Beautiful cottage. The small deck that overlooks the lake is spectacular. The walk to the nearby municipal staircase is not a long walk and the stairs are safe. Some nearby cottages have stairs directly to the beach, but they look dangerous so it is good to use the municipal staircase. The cottage was well-appointed. Everything you need to have a relaxing and effortless stay was included. Nothing but good things to say about this cottage.

Absolutely gorgeous home on the lake !! The home is pristine and the hosts are 10/10. Weather was amazing - cannot beat the sunsets.

This was our second stay at the cottage and we once again very much enjoyed it. It's a well built and designed cottage, with a ton of grass space for relaxing and games. Very clean, comfortable, and well stocked.The hosts communicated well and were always responsive. There are no direct stairs to the beach, but the friendly neighbours were happy to share access to their stairs so we didn't have to drive over to the public beach area. We ran into some challenges with the 3-car limit, but the public beach area nearby helped with that. Overall a great stay for all ages.

It was a wonderful week at Bear Necessities cottage! The hosts were great to work with from start to finish. Clean, organized and a beautiful cottage! Highly recommend.

This is a lovely cottage in a great location. The cottage is very well designed with great finishings throughout; everyone in the family commented on it. The location is right off the main highway but still quiet. There is lots of grass in front and back for games, and incredible sunset views. There's also a golf course with range in walking distance if that's your thing. We had 2 families staying here and it was still plenty of space for everyone. I'd highly recommend this cottage.

Marvelous!
This property and house are stunning. It was a luxury experience. We all felt at home. So clean. So beautiful. So many lovely details. We could not have picked a better spot to hang out with family. Thank you so much for sharing your space.
