Relax with the whole family at this beautiful cottage along the Trent Severn Waterway. Located 2 hrs east of Toronto, 10 minutes from Campbellford where Canada's Sweetest Bakery (Dooher's), World's Finest Chocolate outlet, Cheese Factory, Aron movie theatre, a variety of restaurants to choose from, from fast food to fine dining, etc, are located & 6 minutes from Havelock. The waterfront view is to die for. This is an amazing spot to swim, fish, kayak, canoe, boat, read, etc. Have a bonfire by the water or rest on the hammock and catch the sunset and rise. Amazon Prime is included for rainy days as well as Bocce Ball, tetherball, and horseshoes for active guests. 2 person inflatable Kayak & an Inflatable Paddle Board can be used upon signing waiver . You'll also be sure to catch a glimpse of some of the stunning wildlife in the area.

As advertised, and beyond! From our first contact through the app through to our check-out time, all went very smoothly. Hosts were responsive and gracious in answering questions pre-arrival and we appreciated the in-person welcome tour. Lovely family cottage time and just what we were looking for for a little summer getaway. With a longer stay in future, we would enjoy even more of the amenities and activities available. A beautiful setting and a perfect place for recreation and relaxation.

The cottage and the property was everything we had hoped for and expected from the listing. We were met by the host and everything was explained. We very much enjoyed the upstairs bedroom. Very large and comfortable. Large treed yard by the lake provided great shade on the deck. It was very quiet and nice to sit on the deck and watch the loopers going up and down the river. Future upgrades planned by the hosts will make the property even better. Highly Recommended.

AS ADVERTISED!!! Birch Point Cottage was everything we were hoping for in a summer getaway; off the beaten track, beautiful sunsets, large/comfy living area, a selection of games and activities, dog-friendly ... and a tremendous master bedroom with ensuite. Paddling the kayaks around Oak Island, we saw bald eagles circling overhead from nearby Hardy Island, turtles sunning themselves on logs and great blue heron(s) swooping high and low. It was 7 days of perfection and the plan is to return next summer! Many thanks to our hosts, Jason and Jayne. Thank you for the accuracy of the listing, for inviting dogs (part of the family!) to come along, and for the quick communication when we had questions. A truly exceptional experience. Every possible detail was considered to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The property is truly gorgeous and very well appointed. Pics don’t do it justice. We rented this property for two nights for our daughter’s wedding. The bridal party stayed there the first night and the girls say their fav memories will be gathering in the comfortable living room to share stories and laughs, and having morning tea on the dock toasting to the wedding day ahead. The second night was for the newlyweds - the master suite is spectacular. The view from the expansive window is stunning and the skylights in the ceiling let in moonlight and sunlight. The hosts - beyond exceptional. Communication was swift and informative and they seemed as excited for the wedding as we were - including thoughtfully stocking some snacks and beverages for the girls - a very welcoming touch. If you have the opportunity to stay at this property, grab it fast! It will become one of your treasured travel memories.

Fantastic property, great host

Our family of 5 had a great stay at the property. Fantastic location and a really comfortable home. Our kids loved fishing off the river in the backyard.

Great escape from the city!

My friend and I stayed at the cottage for two nights. The property is beautiful and the house was comfortable and functional. The tour by the property owner was very informative too.I brought my two small dogs and they enjoyed the stay as well. I would return here again.

End of summer idyll

Beautiful views. Lots of places to sit outdoors. Very comfortable California King-sized bed in the primary bedroom. Well kept, super clean. Absolutely lovely owners, so welcoming and generous. Thank you!

Beautiful way to spend Canada day weekend

Tremendous stay. A wonderful setting with all the conveniences of home but with a rustic cottage feel. Though there is much to commend, we all adored the bed sheets and would love to know where they were purchased! Minor recommendations would include full size towels, towel hooks in the bathroom, and sharpened butcher knives. Thanks for making our visit a memorable one.

Enjoyable!

We had a great time overall. The grandkids enjoyed the water and fishing off the dock. The bbq was excellent and we had visitors it was great to have. The sunsets were beautiful and a pleasant breeze along the waterfront. Master bedroom was great sleeping with the air conditioning and the bed awesome! Vicki and Lorne Allen.

Peaceful and beautiful

This was an amazing vacation. Fire pit, lake and stars at night were my highlight. The cottage has everything you need and a town is just a few minutes away if you need groceries or do not feel like cooking :) This place is dog friendly and there is plenty of room for them to play and swim. Also, you can take them for a quite a walk. Thank you Jayne and Jason, you are great hosts and I am glad I came across your Vrbo account.

Perfect vacation in the peaceful and beatiful lake front cottage

I have never seen a cottage this clean before. It was spotless and well-organized, making our stay extremely comfortable and enjoyable. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils we needed, and there were plenty of patio chairs outside. The evening sunsets were especially peaceful and beautiful, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a bonfire. We were even lucky enough to see fireflies. With no neighbors around during my stay, it was quiet and felt like our own private retreat. The hosts were very kind and provided detailed explanations, which made our stay even better.

Chalet relaxant

The cottage was exactly like we expected, fantastic large patio, great leaving room with a lot of windows and a big master bedroom with view on the Trent severn river. We appreciated the double kayak. Thanks to the ower for the communication and for the nice wellcome basket. Chantal

AMAZING VACATION SPOT

If we could give more stars we would, we had such an amazing time that half way through our visit we decided to stay an extra day. The hosts were wonderful people and were on top of everything and they communicated all the way through. Meeting you on day 1 with a welcome basket was a very sweet touch. Weather you enjoy wildlife, reading a book, playing games with the kids you are all set, even the fishing was fun & plentifull! The sunsets and watching the boats go by on the river was breathtaking. Both towns are close by (5-10 min) with lots to do. The cottage has absolutely EVERYTHING you need. We cannot wait to go back next year. Thanks Jayne & Jason for a very memorable vacation

Lake side cottage with a beautiful view of the lake

Host Jason & his daughter were waiting to receives us. Jason gave us a tour of the premises and there was welcome gift (basket of goodies & wine) on the kitchen table. Safe fire pit by the deck near the lake to enjoy the sun set. Firewood was available in a neighbour's property right across the cottage for $5 per bundle. Overall, it was a great experience and we would love to go back for a longer stay.

Overall a nice experience. The back yard was beautiful however access to the water was not good. The rocks were slippery and it was difficult to get in and out of the water easily. Our dog would have used the water to swim which was one of the reasons we chose this Vrbo but he did not feel safe entering the lake. The master bedroom and ensuite were lovely but the rest of the sleeping quarters and kitchen were definitely very "cottagy" and small. The upstairs bedroom and the room with the bunk beds were extremely hot and not conducive to a good nights sleep.

The perfect getaway!

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights mid-week and it was heavenly! Jayne and Jason were incredible hosts. When we arrived they gave us a brief tour and rundown of the property and left us with such a thoughtful gift basket. The cottage was immaculately clean and the bed and linens were fresh and cozy. On our second day we basically lived on the dock, enjoying the water and the sunshine. In the evenings we took advantage of the fire pit and the convenience of firewood for sale directly across the street. The cottage had everything needed for a comfortable stay, we only left once to visit Dooher’s Bakery. Such a lovely spot to rest and recharge, we will be back again next year for sure!
