We stayed for a few days for our high-school kids fall break and had a wonderful time. Location is great for access to the national mall but also downtown DC. Lot's of food options and the hosts gave great recommendations too. Would recommend!

Excellent assistance from Vrbo, but rodent activity affected both the bedroom and kitchenI want to begin by recognizing Vrbo’s excellent assistance in addressing the issues at this Washington, DC rental and helping us reach a fair financial resolution. Their resolutions team listened to our concerns, recognized the impact on our stay, and provided additional compensation when we could not reach an acceptable agreement directly with property management. I appreciate their help and want to distinguish their handling of the complaint from our experience at the property.We chose this rental partly because having a kitchen would allow us to prepare meals, store groceries, and avoid eating out every day. During our stay, we saw a mouse inside the home and promptly notified management.We were told someone would be sent to address it, but we did not receive a timely update about whether anyone had attended or what had been done, even after following up. Management later explained that a team member had visited and acknowledged the failure to communicate that information. I appreciate that explanation, but we saw the mouse again afterward. Our concern was not simply the missing update: the problem remained present despite the reported intervention.The most concerning incident occurred during the professional pest-control visit. The technician personally observed the mouse running from my bedroom into the kitchen. He told us that the poison treatment would most likely take approxim

Super convenient, and walkable. We took a three generation family trip. Very comfortable, beds are great. Couch easily makes info a bed. We never heard the wine bar below, or traffic, due to the solid construction and windows. Washer and dryer are a bonus! I’d choose this home again. Parking garage one block over, we reserved with spot hero and never drove. We Ubered everywhere we couldn’t walk. Giant foods one over, lots of good restaurants. All purpose pizza was a favorite.

Overall clean apt, few spiders and webs but nothing crazy. Good location, but Friday and Saturday night it’s a lot going on outside till 2am: people talking/yelling, sirens, loud car music (had a sound machine to drown out the noise). Location to the museums is walkable however better to take the Metro tram to save your feet and knees. Small washer/dryer but a life saver as the heat was crucial and clothes needed to be washed. TV with streaming worked great. Water temp for shower was great. AC worked great (stayed at 72 the whole time) and in addition there is a fan in each room. Bed: Not going to lie the bed was VERY firm. Every morning upon waking-Everyone’s joints (back and hips) in their body was feeling it. Kitchen: Pans were okay but everything we cooked stuck even with oil but it got the job done. Host was very responsive and directions to access the apt were clear. Parking: Used Spot Hero and had to park 2 blocks over in a NARROW alley. Don’t drive a SUV, lrg truck or mini van you need a compact or regular sedan. Overall, it was okay. This was my first time staying at a location like this since we usually stay at a hotel.

We'd like to note that visitor street parking is available and often a convenient option. We understand that using a third-party parking app may have led to a different experience. Our home is located in the heart of downtown above a wine bar, so the neighborhood has a lively atmosphere and there can be activity into the evening, particularly on weekends. Many guests enjoy being within walking distance of restaurants, shops and nightlife, though we understand it may not be the ideal setting for everyone. Home was very spacious, clean and well stocked. However, the bedrooms are very noisy at night as the windows appear to be out dated and let in noise from the street and wine bar below. The living room vibrates constantly from some sort of equipment located in the wine bar. Also had an incident with the full-time tenant. Wifi device for the VRBO and full-time tenant above is located in the VRBO and when the wifi was accidentally unplugged the tenant upstairs tried to let herself in with a key while we were occupying the space. My husband luckily was by the door and able to shut it back and lock it before she could enter. Needs to be a better policy on the tenant notifying VRBO and renters prior to accessing the unit.

This was the perfect spot for us to stay while visiting our daughter who lives just a few blocks away. The location was convenient and there was no problem with the bar downstairs - even on the weekend. We turned on the fan provided and that white noise was all we needed. We used Spot Hero to find a great place to park and walked everywhere. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean, and pictures of the apartment on the website were accurate. We would stay here again!

Great location to use as a base for exploring downtown DC. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Host communication was excellent. We loved exploring this neighborhood and there were plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. nearby. We would definitely choose Home Sweet City again the next time we visit DC!

This place is conveniently located near the Convention Center. We found some Michelin star restaurants nearby that were delicious. Giant, the grocery store, is about a block away. The Metra is also close by . The kitchen is very well stocked as well and the decor reminds me of Bombay Company.

Location was perfect for a conference. It is an older building and it is above a wine bar so it can be quite loud at night. However, well appointed, very clean, and after some kinks with check-in, everything was fine. Would definitely stay again.

The place was amazing. Better even than we anticipated. The location was amazing, including its proximity to numerous fabulous restaurants. And the Maxwell wine bar underneath was the perfect nightcap to every day that we had there. Additionally, the host was amazing. She checked in on us almost daily and asked if we needed anything. Of course we didn’t because the place was so great, but it was nice that she did that we would definitely go back!

We had a fantastic stay! The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-located. Being above a wine bar, you do hear some typical city sounds, but nothing disruptive. The nearby metro made getting around incredibly easy, and having a grocery store just one block away was a huge plus. We’d definitely stay here again!

We had a lovely stay at this property over the Thanksgiving holiday. The accommodations were perfect for our family. It also was a great location to be able to get to various parts of the city within a short distance.

Perfect spot for our week in D.C.! The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The open kitchen and living area were great for cooking and relaxing, and Maxwell wine bar downstairs added a fun, European vibe. Location felt safe and was an easy 15–20 minute walk to restaurants, sights, and Le Diplomate. The host was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall, the place is cute and just enough room for 4-5 adults to stay comfortably. The kitchen has exactly what you need, toiletries are sparse, and anything else you need, you can grab at plenty of spots nearby.Biggest issue was the wi-fi, which is practically non-existent. It's a problem worth solving to keep guests happy. And the curtains are not completely black-out. It also lists having a washer and dryer, there isn't one in unit.Otherwise, having two bathrooms is great for a spot in the city; it's close to a ton, which does mean more outdoor noise, but it's a city, so expect and plan for that. For the space, location, and responsiveness of the host, it was a good stay.

Would not stay again, but property manager responded well

The property itself is 3-stars but the management group earned one star back with their handling of the bad situation. We booked this property for 4 people for 6 nights. I wasn't too pleased when we got there and noticed only four towels, meaning I would be definitely be doing laundry during my vacation. The kitchen amenities were pretty sparse.The television service is only streaming services, which is typical. However, the internet provided is just an extension of the upstairs apartment and was very weak and did not work well at all. I don't want to constantly be resetting an extender and managing internet issues on vacation.The final straw was a pest control issue that caused us to request new accomodations. The company offered another property, but it was not comparable so we declined. They did refund us for the remaining nights of our stay so we could relocate, which is how they earned their 4-star review.
