I want to thank the owner and VRBO for crediting me back 550 on this rental. I reported the property to VRBO, which offered a 150 future-booking credit. Following this escalation, the manager provided a separate 400. It’s fair and I appreciate it. I let this home’s amazing view outweigh negative reviews from previous guests here and on A - - - - b. I wish I had listened. One guest said numerous small problems quickly added up. In May, another reviewer reported broken shades in the living room (which bakes without working shades). Ahead of our stay, management assured me these would be repaired. Nothing was done: one shade had broken parts; another is missing entirely. The interior feels unloved. It’s a mishmash of leftover furniture, lighting and kitchenware. General cleanliness is decent, but large grimy stains cover the carpets everywhere, making the whole house look filthy. Lighting throughout is abysmally sad—a soulless combination of dim and harsh. Shoddy lamps, fans, and space heaters create a lot of unnecessary clutter. Dreary bedrooms offer little storage and feel distinctly downmarket. Detached electrical plates and exposed wiring everywhere look shabby. It took 2.5 days from our arrival for management to call Spectrum to restore internet. ONLY the view saved our stay.Bottom line, this house needs work. There’s not enough space to describe them all here, but I have given the owner a complete list of essential repairs and upgrades.
