We got there and the first thing we noticed was that the fridge wasn’t very cold at all. The freezer was full of ice so it definitely needs to be defrosted.. one of the people who came with me looked underneath the bed to make sure she didn’t forget anything and found a whole bunch of garbage underneath the bed. Not enough places to plug stuff in and the dials for the ceiling fans had electrical issues. Major fire hazard.

I enjoyed the place very much. It had a lovely view to walk out to every morning. The place was clean. Nice family table inside for meals & games. Could use some box fans in the loft as gets rather warm. The airconditioning was lovely on the main level. One of the chairs by campfire ripped my jeans as screws put in backwards all other chairs were good. One of the door handles was loose & could use repair as it kept falling off. Overall, it was a very nice stay. Thank you!

Nice place with a good location. Enjoyed the sun rises over the lake with coffee every morning! There was plenty of room for our family of 7 and we never felt crowded. Algoma had more to offer then what we expected and a very nice "home town" feel. Nice stay!

Convenient location

A great Place to stay with a great view of lake Michigan and close to the boat Harbor to go salmon fishing absolutely love place

Beautiful home

My four friends and I had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful. Location is great. The view spectacular. Highly recommend as a vacation rental!

Wonderful stay away from the city

Our stay at the Lakefront Algoma Home was absolutely wonderful! The property was perfect for our family, featuring a spacious deck, a grill, and a cozy fireplace that made our evenings special. The views were breathtaking, and we had a fantastic time enjoying the lakefront. Everything we needed was within reach, and the amenities exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this place for a memorable family getaway!

Enjoyed your house and the location. Definitely thought it needed a better cleaning - stains and crumbs on the carpets, blood stains on one pillow, cobwebs to name a few. Overall a good stay. Thank you!

This was a perfect spot for our family staff. Lots of space for us to be together, but not on top of each other. We loved the fire pit, the large kitchen table to play board games, and the lovely view from the living room. And we were able to hop over to the beach every evening.

We had a family of 9 stay there for 4 nights. The town is quiet, people super friendly and the beach was beautiful. The house was a great size for our family, in that everyone could spread out and relax without tripping on each other. The backyard was great. The house was large and overall clean, but it definitely needs some maintenance. One of the upstairs fans does not work, a few windows have broken mechanics and the handle came off the screen door as we were checking out, but slid back on. It is a nice house that has had some areas updated. Overall, we would stay again if we are in the area. The house was well stocked for a family with games, chairs, kitchen materials, etc. My family loved the pool table, badminton net and piano! Nice large house with character. The small issues are due to no one living inside full time. All small minor fixer upper things that are not noticed unless you are living there. Beds were comfortable! AC worked great. The big windows with the view to the lake was beautiful!

We have replaced the fan upstairs so it fits the space better.

High School Girlfriends Weekend Getway

We had a great time. The view was beautiful. There were some cosmetic things that should be attended to and updated. The beds were clean and the checkin and checkout process very easy.

Girls weekend

Great place, roomy, clean, awesome views. There is a spacious backyard, two large sitting areas. The pool table in the loft is nice with barstool seating. If I had the time I would have deep cleaned the grill as it needs some maintenance. It didn’t get very hot for us and took a while to cook on. Highly recommend and will stay here the next time we are in Algoma.

Algoma cottage

Plenty of room inside with bedrooms for everyone. The king size bed was comfy and the morning view from the second floor was location beautiful. The location was perfect for what we needed. Unfortunately the AC is unable to cool the cottage, it 88 when we arrived and remained in the 80s inside. Also the grass was so long we couldn’t enjoy the lawn or outdoor areas due to the bugs.

Great for small groups

A small group of college friends stayed at the house for five days. With three separate common areas indoors, there was plenty of space for our group. The firepit out back allowed us to make a nice fire multiple nights. The house is within walking distance of a store for anything you might have forgotten. There was plenty of space to park our cars. We were within a short drive of a winery and several restaurants. I would stay at this property again.

what a beautiful view!

The addition of the living area with cathedral ceiling and full wall of windows makes this house truly memorable. The sunrise was stunning! This was a 'reunion' with my college roommate from 50 plus years ago. We each had a lot of space and our own bathrooms. The combination of privacy and conversation was just what I was looking for.As previously noted the house has some maintenance issues that were addressed promptly by the helpful guest contact. These maintenance issues are the reason for my four star rating.

Our Family Christmas Getaway

It was very spacious. Enough room for 7 adults to interact together or find spots to do our own things. The view from the great room and the balcony above of the water was amazing. We spent a lot of time sitting in the great room visiting and around the large dining room table eating or playing games. There was a nice size TV in the family room but we never used it. The beds were very comfortable. Could use some dressers and night stands in the bedrooms. Overall very clean, couple of light bulbs out and some cobwebs but nothing that was a turn off cleanliness wise. The description says a step to get in the house and stairs to the second floor but there was a step down from the driveway to patio, two steps up to the back door, and a step up from the great room both to the kitchen and into the dinning room.

I did not receive the door code, and when I arrived, I messaged the host directly with no response. I waited over an hour and messaged them again through VRBO. I then spent the next morning messaging VRBO from home. After a few attempts, VRBO finally got a hold of the host, who then sent me the code a day later. I had already driven back home, 3 hours away by this time, and was not going to pack my family back up. VRBO requested that I solve this matter directly with the host. The host will not reimburse me as they said that they did send the code, which I did not receive. I understand that it could have gotten lost but there is no excuse for them not to respond to me and resend it. This ruined my Christmas plans with my children, and I am beyond disappointed. VRBO has yet to help solve the problem.
