Overall our stay was very nice with the kayaks and scenic view of the lake. Our only comment would be property is located on a dirt road with multiple other homes in surrounding area. The access road to property veers to the right and what first appears to be a private drive to another property is actual same road used to access property. We would stay here again.

That view of the lake was gorgeous, especially at sunrise! I recommended it to a few folks in the area and they're planning on using it for their visitors.

Nice home with a great view

The house had a very large open living area. It was in a beautiful location. Perfect for a family of four. Close to Athens.

Spring Break Trip

Great outdoor activities for the kids. Was appreciative of the kayaks, paddle boat, and fire pit available. We had a relaxing spring break. Easy drive to Athens!

Clean, well stocked, beautiful lake view

Our stay went very well, we were in town for a wedding and this home proved to be a great home base for driving to three different event venues. The porches are lovely, the lake is clean and we enjoyed using the kayaks on the lake. We made use of the kitchen to make breakfast and had everything we needed. I would stay here again no doubt.

The home is conveniently located near Athens which is great. The inside was clean and comfortable. The porches had a lot of spiders and spiderwebs which meant we didn’t really sit out there, but the view of the lake is really nice. The neighborhood around it consists of primarily mobile homes and it seems like the home is a manufactured home, but it was a good place for us to stay for the weekend. We did have some confusion with the directions, but once we figured it out, it was super easy getting in and out of the neighborhood. All in all it was a good stay!!

Short stay. Will be back!

We were visiting my sister for her 70th just 15 min away so was perfect, close proximity to Athens and a beautiful view to Bear Creek Reservoir and if you like boating, kayaking or canoing, we didnt do, but even better for those that do. Long lane to house has some mobile homes that were sketchy, but evidentally the area is all getting updated to be a little mini resort

Only real issue was receiving the code for the key and the phone number listed for the contact was out of the country. But once we had access the location was clean and comfortable. Would stay again

Absolutely peaceful comfortable and Lake Life

Everything was awesome! A cozy home clean quiet by the lake! Out in the country but close to my family, stores, and anything I needed and close to everything. I had to do on my trip! My youngest son got married! Terry the host and owner of the property was an absolute attentive gem with any concern or questions I needed answering! A good ole country guy with manners care and a great sense of humor! He was such a blessing due to another arbnb horror story. I give Terry a rating of 10 as a human being and a very cool spot to stay at when in Statham Georgia.

This was an okay experience! We wanted a place where we could bring our pup and stay with family for a wedding in the area. The lake was a bonus for our dog as he loves the water. The good parts of this location: great size family room, lots of water boats to enjoy the lake, big primary bathroom, and the room by room AC units blast really cold. But there were a few things that stood out. Firstly, the surrounding area is pretty tough. Most of the houses have trash in the yards and it’s not the best drive in. One big concern with neighbors is that they had two pit bull mixes free roaming that chased my dog down more than once. It made me anxious to take him out knowing I didn’t know how those dogs would react to him. They also chased our car in and out on the drive which was nerve wracking, as we didn’t want to hit them. The house was pretty clean minus a few things — we smelled remnants of pee on one of the couches, and my mother in law found dog pee dried up in the bathroom. We understand this is a pet friendly location and it comes with its quirks, but pee is a lot different than some pet hair. The last thing is that it wasn’t clear in the listing that the lake area was shared, which wasn’t a huge deal, but changed the level of privacy. I don’t think this will be our first choice to stay in next time, but it’s a decent deal do the price and amount of people it sleeps!

Pleasant stay

A beautiful view of the water with great sunrises. The house was renovated and was nicely decorated and comfortable. The beds were soft and comfortable and the linens and towels were very nice and soft. Nice touches like complimentary soaps and water/snacks were welcome. Some small things like a slight odor when we first arrived, maybe a couple more frying pans would have been nice. We did not have dishwasher pods and starting the dishwasher was required on check out. The road in also had some less pleasant homes but no issues getting to the house. However, these things didn’t not detract from our stay, we really enjoyed the views, kayaking and relaxing. The drive to Athens was an easy 20 minutes via nice country roads which was a big plus for us.

Nice views

Overall it was a nice place. Some spots where the sheetrock was damaged..big holes where the towel rack for the hall bath fell off. Also, no bath mats. So be REALLY careful trying to get out of the shower onto the tile. Also, the master bath has no door between it and the bedroom. So from the bed you can see and talk to your mate who is trying to poop in peace. And all sounds and smells have no way to be contained. But the fire pit was nice. We did use the paddle boat some. The views off the back of the house are of woods and lake. The views from the side of the house look over some not so great views of the neighborhood. We just left the blinds closed. But there's no blinds on the doors or the master bath window (which looks out onto the driveway at head level of the people walking by). So bring some way to hang a towel or something over that bath window. And there's no extra linens, but there is a washer and dryer to renew your towels.
