Amazing home, unbelievable artwork, pottery. Everything was perfect for our extended family. Grandchildren loved picking the huckleberries, and the daily visitation of deer.

The Nuu house is lovely, we enjoyed every day. Every possible detail was looked after, we are a group of 5 with two teenage sons. It is a large open space inside and out. The house location is private with a view of the water and it is a short walk to town. We would love to come back.

I can’t speak highly enough about this property and host. This house was literally my dream house; amazing architectural design with beautiful interior. Large and spacious, can comfortably accommodate bigger groups than our family of four. Nestled in nature and during our stay we saw multiple bald eagles and deer. Host was extremely helpful and promptly answered any questions we had; he went above and beyond! Very close to the town of Masset and the airport, as well as access to several great hikes and beaches. Would love to come back and stay again!!

Awesome place!

This place was magical. Beautiful architecturally designed. Wonderful art. Handcrafted pottery, warm and beautiful. The view was stunning and the location overall was perfect…highly recommend.

All was as advertised. The owner was very accommodating to our needs, adjusting check in and departure times to allow for our air travel. Beautiful home, very well supplied kitchen with cookware, utensils and extras.

Amazing accommodation and location

Our family had an absolute amazing stay. The house was beautiful clean and comfortable having more than we needed. Pottery for plates, bowls and cups, art everywhere!!! Eagles, deer, blue heron and killer whalers all viewed on the property!! We will never forget and definitely try to connect with Patrick again!

John and his family were fantastic guests- very easygoing, helpful and appreciative of even the small things. They kept the house in great shape and I wouldn't hesitate to have them stay again or to recommend them to any other hosts.

Exquisite home

Patrick's home was exquisite! It is a modern and super comfortable spacious home, that served us well for the 3 nights we spent there. After adventuring during the days, it was so relaxing to come home to. We used the BBQ on the deck one evening when we ate in. We all loved the huge array of pottery mugs, plates and bowls as well as the architecture and artwork!

We had fantastic stay at Nuuhouse and couldn't have found a better spot for our stay on Haida Gwaii. Patrick provided connections to local artists, chef/opera singer and fresh fish from the docks. If we have the opportunity for a return to Haida Gwaii we would defenitly stay at Nuuhouse again. A big thank you to Patrick from the 5 of us. Kind regards, Wulf

Absolutely incredible!

This was not only the nicest vacation rental, but the nicest home I have ever been in! The owner went above and beyond, making sure my family had everything we needed. Totally private and quiet, as you are surrounded by nature. Every detail was thought of. A magical and unforgettable home. Thank you so, so much!

All you can possibly want!

This house is amazing. It is located close to Masset and central to heading south to the Harbor. The kitchen is fantastic and has everything you could possibly need. There are two large en suite bedrooms and a room for two kids(bunk beds) and another room with a double bed. The view is spectacular and the property is very private. The best part is the owner is phenomenal. Friendly, helpful, and easy-going. The property is super serene and quiet. An absolutely great experience! Wish I was still there. Haida Gwaii is gorgeous.

Amazing Home and Host

This place was wonderful and made our week vacation perfect. Modern and well kept, it was an absolute treat to come home after a day of adventuring and relax on this property. There was lots of space for our larger group and the home gave us a great vibe and had everything we needed. Wonderful view and open feeling with all the windows yet still feels very private inside and outside. We were blessed with gorgeous evenings and amazing sunsets and very comfortable beds. Our host went above and beyond to help make our vacation even more memorable and made us feel at home and welcome. There are not enough stars I can leave for the host and their beautiful home.

Roxy and her crew were the most ideal guests imaginable. Communicative, clean and very helpful. We had an appliance glitch that they helped us troubleshoot and replace with no hint of feeling put out- above and beyond what would be expected. They left the house in fantastic shape and we would love to have them back as guests anytime- highly recommended!

Beautiful house very well appointed and great location for North Beach access and fishing charters. Patrick was very responsive to all enquiries.Unfortunately the berry hedge in front was overgrown so there was no view of the inlet. Also note - the outdoor "firepit" is gas - not wood. In the summer this makes perfect sense in BC but it would have been nice to know ahead of time given the fact that on Haida Gwaii campfire restrictions are rarely in place.

A serene and artful home

Reputation matters in Haida Gwaii’s Masset, as in other small towns, and we saw immediately why our host, Patrick and his wife, are held in high esteem. Patrick’s communication was impeccable, considerate and kind from the moment we made the VRBO booking until after we returned safely to Vancouver on a stormy day. He is an artist, woodworker, potter and more. Patrick’s Nuu (octopus) House is a work of art that is as comfortable as it is beautiful. We three friends had plenty of room for privacy and connection during our eight day “pilgrimage” to return a dear one’s ashes to places he had loved. In the process, we were able to connect with the amazing landscapes, seascapes and cultures of this unique locale. The excellent kitchen supported us to cook halibut, lingcod, and four kinds of mushrooms for meals to share with new friends, including a seaweed expert and two Haida carvers completing a ceremonial pole nearby. The stars, the rainstorms, the constantly changing views across Masset Inlet, all were memorable. We are recommending Nuu House to friends and family after our exquisite experience!

Patrick was very responsive and understanding with a few things that came up. He offered us use of things on the property which enhanced our experience, We ran low on propane for the barbecue which after a phone call was readily accessible. There was a brief power outage on our last night which we may have had to leave dishes which he understood. Awesome house, well equipped. Thanks the comfortable accommodation it made our Haida Gwaii experience exceptional.
