This cottage was perfect for us for a long weekend. You can't beat the location. We had a wonderful time!

The host was good when we rented the place with communication.. but when we got there he wasn't . When we walked in to the house broke blinds window air units in living room . And one bedroom . It was like 80 something degrees in the house it felt better outside . We had a 7 hr drive . Needed it cool . Tried emailing him no response . I will never stay at this place again

Pros: Amazing location and accepted large dogs which was wonderful for us. Perfect size for 2 people and a dog. The house was pretty clean, which considering its age and all the nooks and crannies, is no easy feat. Cons: Really run down. Old is fine, but this place desperately needs some love. A lot of the windows are stuck shut which was unfortunate since the HVAC was down. The blinds were super dusty and many were broken. The bathroom smells like mold. The HVAC was out and the house was being cooled by 2 window units framed with painters tape and a box fan. It didn’t get below 78 inside the entire time we were there. Thankfully one of the window units was in the master BR or it would have been a deal breaker. Reported to the property management company but no one ever came. Most of the lighting inside didn’t work. I don’t know if bulbs were burnt out or what. With all that being said, we’ll stay elsewhere next time. It’s too bad. This place has so much potential.

Filthy! Furniture smells like animal urine. Never stayed somewhere so disgusting definitely not worth the price. Old is one thing. Which doesn’t bother me a bit. This place stains all over the carpet. Everything was very low budget. I guess I should be happy with oceanfront. Except that it rained the whole time so we were forced to stay indoors and smell all the smells.I wouldn’t stay here if it was free!!

Perfect for us

We wanted peace and quiet. Beachfront. Easy access to beach. Fishing. This suited what we wanted just right. No frills— clean and simple. Small and convenient. We will be back!!

Review

Small house but ok. Dryer makes a loud sqeeking noise the whole time it is on. Called the management team about the TV and they never got back to us even though they said they would. Nice location.

Perfect location

We have not had a vacation in a few years. This was the perfect place. Easy beach access. Dog were allowed in home and the beach. The beach had dog bags at the entrance so you could clean up after the dogs once they did their business. Kitchen had every thing you needed. We could log into Netflix, Hulu, Disney account to watch TV. We were conveniently located close to restaurants and the Food Lion. There were no towels/ beach towels provided. The beds had blankets and pillows. Recommend bringing your own toilet paper and linens I’m was happy I brought some of my own towels and linens. I hope to rent again next year!

This beach house is located one house over from beach access so it’s just steps from the beach. You get what you see in the pics, the house is just as described. It’s small, but big enough for a small family. It was just my husband, our corgi and me so it was just right. Things we didn’t realize when booking; linens are not included, however you can rent them, check-in is closer to 5pm not 3pm and you can’t see the beach from the back deck because of the dunes. My biggest criticism isn’t with the house but the yard, there are little spiny burs that hurt like heck when you step on them. The only reason I mention this is as a heads up for pet owners. Our dog got two stuck in his paw and limped for over a day. Otherwise, it’s a great house and location. I would it book again, but I wouldn’t bring my dog again.

This is the most incredible location! Wow! Walk out onto the dunes. It’s beautiful. The porch is phenomenal. We wouldn’t book again because of the shower, and having small children. But if it was just us, we’d go back! That said, the house is outdated, and the shower experience is not ideal (especially with kiddos). The shower head is aggressive, doesn’t move, and you get waterboarded if you have to shave your legs. If you are fat or pregnant this shower is not going to work for you. The toilet is very small and low. The mattresses are not the most comfortable. There were no bugs, and outside of the house being sticky it was clean. But, you get what you pay for. It is beach front! We weren’t inside enough to talk about. Two adults and two babies maxes out the space.The property management company was great, when the dryer didn’t work they had someone out ASAP (two days later, but a holiday weekend). They did come out same day. The house was a little sticky and musty, and didn’t have a working vacuum but it did have a broom and we were able to clean up a bit. We will 100% rent from this company again next year, and we’re hoping to be in the same location. You can easily walk to Publix and other island shops (including ice cream!!) and pepperoni grill and the park and splash pad. The pier is 1.8 miles down the beach one way, and it’s a pleasant walk! Great location. Great property management company. Easy access to the beach.

Cute first row house

This cute little house gave us a great week at the beach. Although it is a small house (about 500 square feet), it was just enough for our family of 4. It was very clean and had all of the kitchen essentials we needed. Although this house is first row house, you are barely able to see the ocean from the house, and not at all if you're SITTING at the house (on the deck or in the house). The sun deck sits lower than the dune, blocking most of the view. Also, there isn't direct access to the ocean from the house without crossing the dune (which is a no no!). Not a big deal, but worth mentioning if that is important to you. Public access is one house over from this house. Two things that would have improved our stay greatly is light and adding more streaming apps to the ROKU. There weren't enough lights/lamps or the lamps/lights that were there had bad bulbs. This did make things a bit more difficult. Also the ROKU had a passcode lock to add new apps, so we were unable to watch the Olympics since Peacock was not added to the ROKU yet. I would suggest adding ALL available streaming apps that guests may use. Again, not a big deal . but these little things would have made our vacation just that much better! :) Overall, this is a great little house right by the ocean, and we would stay there again!
