The Yoga Retreat is a boutique property, walking distance from the beautiful sands of Umina Beach.

It is the perfect space to chill and enjoy some downtime to recharge the soul...

Journal, ride bikes, enjoy the surf and free use of our yoga props for your own personal practice or contact us to arrange your own custom yoga retreat with on-site Senior Teacher, Kelly Sunartha.

This self-contained, private property features a Queen bedroom with air conditioning, high-quality mattress and block-out blinds for a great night's sleep.

Our beautiful coastal living space offers an ideal chill-out zone with a comfy daybed that doubles as a full-sized single bed with another premium mattress- should you need an extra sleeping space.

Feel free to use the guitar, play the board games or lay back and chill with a book from our library or watch a few episodes of your fave show on Netflix on our hidden flatscreen TV.

Our full-sized kitchen includes a selection of complimentary teas and pods for the coffee machine. There is a full-size fridge, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and even a waffle press! It is perfectly equipped to cook like at home when you’re not busy out trying the abundance of local cafes and restaurants at your fingertips. Check out our guidebook for all our local faves.

We can also arrange catering if you are interested in customising your own private yoga retreat with Senior Teacher, Kelly Sunartha who lives onsite in the house behind your fully fenced, and very secluded yard. (Note- you will have your separate rear-lane access to the property and there is a tall hedge and plenty of garden space in-between, so you can hide away and keep to yourself.)

The outdoor space includes a sheltered lounge area with large bbq for alfresco lounge-style dining. There is also a separate garden with a swing chair, herb garden and beautiful grassed area for your own private yoga practice in the sunshine, or space for your 4-legged friends to enjoy too.

Experience the privacy of your own little oasis, right in the centre of one of Umina's best streets.

Cosy with everything you need. Close walk to the beach. Pet friendly with dog beach near by. Bikes and beach amenities available, and a 4min drive to main road with shops. Thank you!

Even though we had trouble finding the place due to the fact that we arrived here at 6pm in the beginning of Winter it was dark and had a bit of trouble. Kelly was very sorry as she had no idea what time we would be arriving. Property was very clean with all the amenities. Bed was comfy and our Cavaliers loved it!! The outdoor setting was lovely as the weather was great!! Very close to shops just 2 minutes away. Patonga was the highlight for us just 6km away. Would love to come back to this peaceful sanctuary. We loved our stay here. The location is really convenient, close to Umina Beach and the shops, and the yard was perfect for our two little chihuahua crosses.Kelly was great about letting me know beforehand that we might need some extra fencing for such small dogs. Our tiniest is only 2 kg and could get her head under the carport gate, but we travel with portable fencing anyway, so it wasn’t a problem.The cabin is quite compact. There were two of us and, once my husband had set up his computing equipment on the table, there wasn’t a lot of room left for eating meals. I think it would be lovely for one or two people, although it could feel a bit cramped with more people or a few rainy days indoors.The table chairs are quite deep with low backs, which my husband found difficult with his bad back, while the coffee table felt too low to use comfortably from the day bed without sitting on the floor. We really appreciated the yoga bolsters for propping him up. A second straight-backed chair would be a useful addition, both at the table and for clothes or bags in the bedroom.One other thing to be aware of with mobility issues is the shower over the bath. I found the step out quite deep and felt a little unsteady.We’d happily stay here again, especially for a short visit with dogs.

Beach retreat for a week

Cottage is well located to beaches, shops, cafes and waterways. Storms rain kept me indoors for 3 days with my dog, thankfully the garden is fully fenced patio/carport covered. Enjoyed TV, Wifi, comfy bed and easy checkin.

Cute little beach house

Dad and two kids stayed a couple of nights after visiting friends. Very clean and good value. We had a great time exploring the coast.

Great little cabin. Clean. Airy. Private. Larger than I had anticipated. Good location and easy walk or drive to beaches, cafes, shops etc. Has the basics for cooking at home should you choose to. My husband, pup and I stayed for 7 nights and loved our stay. Our dog definitely enjoyed sunning himself in the small grassed courtyard everyday! Very relaxing vibe. Very easy check in and very responsive hosts. Would definitely return for another Sydney escape!

I was very disappointed with this property and left after two nights to find alternative accommodation in the area, despite having booked and paid for four.The property was clean, and the host was responsive and kindly allowed me to check in early. However, the accommodation itself felt extremely dated and tired, with furnishings and finishes that appeared to be decades old. In my view, the overall presentation did not live up to the impression created by the listing or represent good value for money.My biggest disappointment was the outdoor area. I was travelling with two dogs and specifically chose this property because the listing promoted a grassed garden and attractive outdoor space. On arrival, I found the outdoor area surprisingly small and unappealing, and very different from the impression I had formed from the listing photographs. The egg chair prominently pictured in the garden was also missing. When I subsequently raised this, the host confirmed that it had been removed before my stay because it was rusty and had not yet been replaced.The entrance was also difficult to find, the lockbox was very fiddly to operate, and the allocated parking space was extremely tight to access. I was driving a Suzuki Swift and found manoeuvring into the space difficult; anyone with a larger vehicle may want to check the parking arrangements before booking.Umina Beach and Ettalong itself is lovely, particularly with dogs.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased to hear you found the property clean and that we were responsive and able to accommodate your requested early check-in, particularly as this was a last-minute booking. We’re sorry the property wasn’t what you were expecting. We would, however, like to clarify a few points for future guests. The property has a deliberately rustic, relaxed coastal style, which is reflected in the listing photos and description. The mattresses are new, and we have hosted many guests travelling with dogs over the years, including larger dogs staying for longer periods, without any issues. The grassed garden area is approximately 16m² and had actually been freshly turfed immediately before this stay. This is why the egg chair shown in some of the listing photos had temporarily been removed. The chair had developed some surface rust and we were considering replacing it, but the original chair was still available and could easily have been returned to the garden had the guest mentioned it during their stay. Unfortunately, this concern was only raised after the guest had decided to leave and requested a refund, so we weren't given the opportunity to address it. We do acknowledge that the allocated parking space is narrow, and this is noted in the listing. We recommend reversing into the space, which makes access easier, particularly for larger vehicles. We always encourage guests to contact us during their stay if something isn't as expected, as we are very happy to do what we reasonably can to resolve issues. In this case, the guest chose to leave after two nights of a four-night booking without first raising these concerns with us. As the accommodation had been reserved exclusively for the full four nights, we were unable to refund the unused nights. We value our guests and take feedback seriously, but we also want future guests to have an accurate understanding of the property and what to expect when booking.

The accommodation was neat, tidy and well presented, and we appreciated that it was dog friendly.However, there was a noticeable musty, damp smell throughout the property, particularly in the kitchen and bedroom, which impacted our stay. Even after airing the place out, the odour lingered, and we needed to purchase air fresheners to make it comfortable. The bedroom cupboard also had a strong smell, so we avoided using it for our clothes.Additionally, when sitting outside, we were often affected by cigarette smoke from neighbouring properties on both sides.It’s a shame, as the property itself was clean and otherwise enjoyable, but these issues did detract from the overall experience.
