Hotel davvero accogliente e caratteristico alla porte dei sentieri per il natural bridge. Ristorante e taverna all’interno molto buoni con servizio buono e prezzi convenienti. Si respira la natura e la pace. Bello essere attorniati dalla foresta e dagli scoiattoli che spesso girano all’esterno del lodge. Piscina molto piacevole e camere ampie anche se necessitano di un po’ di ammodernamento nella moquette e nei bagni. Anche nell’arredo esterno. Nel complesso però sono pulite. Colazione ottima. Consiglio questo posto!

You can't beat the proximity to the trails. The room looked like it had been well maintained overall. We alerted staff to an issue with water seeping up through the carpet near the sink when the cold was turned on. The door stuck so I had to jam my shoulder against it to open it. The biggest issue I mentioned to maintenance and the front desk is the automatic 2nd door when you walk into the building closes fast so it would violate disability regulations and upset anyone carrying bags. Maintenance said it was costly to replace. I let them know the state should make it a priority.

Great cabin to come back to after a day hiking. We will come back when we have more time to spend. It was pleasant waking up to the birds and having morning coffee on the porch.

First off, we were not organized or planned tourists. This was a bright idea last minute. In an F150 towing a Uhaul that was over weight, I decided to spend time with my kid on an unplanned adventure! This is not that smart to do at The Red River Gorge. But we had a blast The cabin or cottage are in the actual Forest. This is a windy up and down the mountain situation. There are no areas to turn around so if you mess up or have a trailer you are done! The cabins are in the woods! If you are not prepared with flashlights and bug spray and show up in the middle of the night, be ready for your chest to beat loudly! The free breakfast is awesome, the staff is awesome and the cottage is like a singlewide house up in the mountains. Fully equipped with all your needs but it is a State Park. Not the 4 star resort with mints… Study the maps because you will get lost and it is the wilderness… NOT the place for children except on the little places made by the park . Even then do not let them roam by themselves. This is real wilderness with one wrong footstep you will be gone.

It's an old property and in the lodge it shows. However, the cabins are very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was decent.

If you are looking for somewhere with all the bells and whistles, this is not it. However, if you are looking for a room to relax in while you explore a gorgeous park, this is your best bet. We stayed here one night. The accommodations were very simple, but also very peaceful, and dinner at the lodge was delicious. Breakfast didn't have a lot of options, but we were going hiking anyway and didn't need a big meal. The property is dated, and the refrigerator didn't get very cold, but overall we were happy and would stay here again.

Very friendly staff. Our room was very comfortable, beds were cozy, and the view from the room over a small Creek was very nice as well. They also offer a nice hot breakfast in the morning. The dining room offers large window view over the swimming area and pond along with views of the surrounding hillsides. The only slightly negative thing to note, is the upper walkways pretty dirty with cobwebs and debris along the walkways. We would definitely stay here again.

I love the state park systems but this particular one seems to have a little neglected feeling in the lodge. Some of the maintenance issues especially. Repainting and repairing all those small details (hallways, railings, stairwells) is especially what comes to mind. Thinking maybe the state budget has been cut or the management may have changed as I’ve stayed here in years past and it seemed much better. I would stay here again but with lower expectations.

Breakfast did not include hot tea which I found amazing. Room was not serviced even once during our 4 day stay. Staff was only marginally helpful. Doubt if I will stay here again. Menu in cafe was very limited and food only so-so.

The resort staff were wonderful. Customer service was excellent. The food was country cooking. The breakfast buffet was limited. Lunch and dinner were mostly fried foods. Great little gift shop. Rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis. Limited service if requested. Room was dusty and bathroom did not feel hygienic. We had a lot of trouble regulating the shower temperature. On the last day, the shower went from hot to scalding with the cold water on all the way. Room temp could not be programmed below 70° unless you were using heat. Wonderful balcony was pleasant and would have been terrific if it had been cleaned before our arrival. We found a lot of birdseed and poop on a daily basis. The wrought iron patio furniture was old but usable. Peeling paint. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room had only a refrigerator and coffee maker. No microwave. The pool area did not live up to any expectations. Getting there was difficult because of the hundreds of steps downhill and uphill linking the resort with the pool. Pool was only chest deep. Wading pool for little ones was not open, nor was the snack bar. Bathrooms were horrendous. We found out that all of the shade trees along the length of the pool had been chopped down a week before we arrived. Why??? so there was virtually no shade except under a few table umbrellas. Pool apron and pavement were so hot because of the lack of shade they burned our feet. The chairlift did not look safe enough for us to use.

Good place if you have a family and want to be able to cook. Extremely steep, long and unmaintained steps to get to the cabin-not suitable for seniors or anyone remotely unfit in my opinion. Parking not delineated and ended up with confrontation with neighboring cabin with more than one vehicle and a mystery vehicle parked in the other spot. Wish they had a fire pit. Love that you can use the pool. Breakfast often packed up before the 10 am deadline and you'll have to drive to get it. Overall love the state park. Would need to research the other cabins to find a better one to stay again.

quiet, peaceful stay. centrally located with access to all state park activities. bar and dining on site. nice staff.

Beds were clean and comfortable. Rooms were outdated. Tub faucet not working and mildew on tile. Shower worked great.
