There were positive things. The property is older, but I knew that, and it was maintained. Staff was nice. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, and it was spacious. Proximity to beach was perfect. Lots of nearby attractions.
Two minor concerns. First, the AC in one of the bedrooms didn't work. It was hotter in there than outside. I ended up sleeping on the couch. The second was parking was very cramped. There were no spots when we arrived.
Major concern and reason for 2 stars: we weren't able to check in the first night, and we had to go to a nearby Holiday Inn and pay another $200 dollars to sleep there until the office opened the next day. We arrived at the property about 1 am, and they gave us the lock box code to get our key. The code did not work. I called the after hours emergency number. While she was friendly, she had no solution other than to keep giving me numbers to call. These numbers all went to voicemail. I had three 14 year olds with me, so I had to find a place for them to sleep, so we left. The next morning we showed up to get keys, and I told the lady at the desk what happened and she said "it can get locked up and needs to be reset if someone enters the code wrong." So, maybe someone could have told me how to reset it. It was jammed when I got there. While everyone was nice, no one was helpful and they all seemed to have a "oh, well. That sucks. Sorry but nothing I can do" attitude. Anyway. Cost me $200 extra. Should have just booked a nicer place.
