This place was really cute! There is a wall ax unit in the living room /kitchen and one in the bunk bed rooms. Those were super comfortable. The master bedroom doesn’t have one so it can get a bit warm. We were here end of July is it was 97 out. Overall really cute for the kiddos for a night

The wagon was so clean and ready to go. Staff was fun and helpful,parking was easy and no issue, we went during a heat wave and the wagon was very comfortable. The yard we had was so comfortable and relaxing to sit in. We will definitely be coming back. The whole experience was one of a kind.

I would never recommend them, especially in the summertime ACs did not work. I had to clean and take out the filters myself. They look like they were never cleaned called and asked for them to see about fixing the ACs they sent someone over that didn’t do anything but mess with the controllers. They said they were fixed, but they were not. I called again asked for a maintenance and they told me they didn’t have maintenance to come fix them.

Super fun place to stay. Only recommendation for people showing up after hours-maybe bottled water in the wagons! Otherwise I would highly recommend this place, especially if you’re looking for fun along Route 66.

You have to learn how to manage the AC or the room will get hot, so ask questions about the AC unit control. The room did cool down to our preferred temperature, we slept perfectly.

It was a fun place to stay with wonderful outdoor spaces next to the tiny log house. But we had to use our sound machine app on our phones, the truck traffic was loud. But thoroughly enjoyed the Cowboy Kitsch.

We stayed in the cabin area. We had trouble with our code to get in. We enjoyed our stay. Also they had bagels and cream cheese for breakfast. Nice touch.

No TV, Next to the Freeway, you heard every vehicle that went by. Bring a sound machine. Bed was very comfortable.

After an 11-hour drive with three kids, we arrived with high hopes. The outside cabin/wagon area is adorable, and the amenities were perfect for burning off energy. The deluxe cabin features two bedrooms (queen, twin bunks), a pull-out sofa, and a kitchenette. Unfortunately, the two mini-splits couldn’t cool the space, even set at 64°F, and the mattresses were incredibly thin. Things turned worst at 9 PM when we uncovered the beds. The queen sheets were filthy. I found a spare set for that bed, but when I tried to set up the pull-out sofa for my youngest and myself, there were no extra sheets. I messaged the resort twice. No response. The reservation email listed the wrong phone number (for Cactus Cove). That receptionist gave me the correct number for The Big Texan RV Ranch, but guest services was closed (hours are 8 AM–7 PM). Expedia tried reaching the property manager with no luck. I have stayed at countless properties and have never been completely stranded without a staff contact at 10 PM. As someone from a multigenerational family of small business owners, I understand mishaps happen, but communication is non-negotiable. We ended up leaving at midnight to check into a nearby hotel just to get clean sheets and working AC. If you are in an RV, this is great for kids. If you are booking a cabin or wagon, check your beds and AC before 7 PM. After that, you are entirely on your own.

Great place to stay. Cabins were clean. Front desk staff wasn’t the friendliest but not overly mean. I’m used to friendly people in Texas but maybe they were having a bad day or live in New Mexico. I’d definitely stay again even though they just have van that takes you to the restaurant, not a limo like advertised. Maybe it’s an Amarillo Limo??

The chuckwagon concept was attractive. It’s right next to the freeway, which made it loud to try and sleep in at night and I think it would do better if it was more remote, and you felt like you were more in the old western atmosphere.

Staying in a covered wagon was fun! Enjoyed the experience. Very clean wagon and very clean rest room only a few steps away. (You need to leave the wagon to use restroom). Due to the unique design of the covered wagon, it’s not as sound proof as a standard hotel room and we could hear some noise from the interstate nearby.

What a fun stay! The cabin was adorable and the perfect size for everyone to be able to spread out after a long day on the road. Air conditioners kept the cabin nice and cool in late May. Parking is easy and close to the cabins. It's a quick little trip back to the RV park after dinner at the steakhouse, which was also a great time, and it's convenient to stores and easy to get back on the interstate when it's time to head out. That begin said, light sleepers should know that the road is quite loud and you will hear steady interstate traffic all night, so come prepared. Early birds beware, coffee and breakfast in the clubhouse don't start until later on, not 6:00 am like we were used to! You will not be listening to crickets singing in the forest at this campground, but I would recommend the cabins for families with kids that want something more fun and memorable than your typical extended stay hotel room.

Room was very clean and cozy. The check in was done smoothly via email with great clear communication. We loved how the place made us feel camping/glamping in Texas. Parking was close to the room as well
