Grocery store right below is very convenient for a longer stay. Parking was paid during the day but we were able to use right in front of the grocery store. The keypad to unlock was little challenging at times as it could not recognize the key press. Very close and driveavie distance to tue City center. Highly recommend.

for starters, there is no check in desk.. you are sent an email the day before your reservation providing 4 digit codes to access the front door, hall door, and room.. check-in is at 3pm.. forget about an early check-in or a secure place to leave your luggage as you wait.. the room is but an apartment with 2 bath towels and one hand.. no Kleenex or paper towels.. no air conditioning with poor ventilation.. no phone for local calls.. the $51 breakfast was a brown bag consisting of a croissant, a roll, slice of cheese, a pear, and a juice box all left on the floor outside your door.. the bathroom is well done but dark due to poor lighting.. the location is quite good with a short walk to shops & restaurants..I'll end by stating, if you prefer a hotel experience then look elsewhere..there are considerably better deals for lesser money..

Great location, that was about it. Poor ventilation in the room, windows were hard to open. There wasn’t any ventilation in the bathroom. My booking was supposed to receive 2 days breakfast, we only received one breakfast grab and go bag.

Great space for family of 4. Clean, open concept with lovely rain forest shower. Large windows with room-darkening curtains did the trick for midnight sun. Grocery store is next door.

This property is an ideal location. Right in town and close to many coffee shops and restaurants. Being next to Kronan is extremely convenient. Easy check in process and the room was very clean. Some cons was that there is no temperature control at all and the sun is beaming through the windows and made the room extremely warm and the air is very dry. The pillows were also not sturdy at all and uncomfortable. Also only one pillow basically for each person on the bed which isn’t enough. Nothing could beat the location but the room itself had some issues and made it tough to be inside.

Αρνητικά: Check-in
We had a few unfortunate experiences with this property, although I suspect they were atypical. As this is self check-in, instructions are provided in advance on how to get into the property using digital access codes. Upon arrival, there was no parking for the property and it turns out that there is no free street parking in downtown Reykjavik anymore (a change from the many times I visited in the past). We spent a lot on street parking, although the automated parking kiosks are everywhere and easy to use When we tried to access the room using the code we were given, it didn't work. The battery had died on the locking mechanism. We were fortunate to find an incredibly kind and helpful member of the cleaning staff who assisted us to access the room (we were exhausted from 18 hrs of travel by this time). The next day, our access code to the hallway leading to our room also failed to work. Unfortunately, the courtesy phone to call for help is inside the hallway that we couldn't access. Once again, an employee who was leaving for the day happened to bump into us and spent almost an hour with us to ensure we reached someone who could help us. I recall she was from Poland, and is an exemplary employee. We were issued a new code and had no problems after that. The room was very nice although I don't understand Icelandic toilets at all. Sometimes, we couldn't flush because there was no water. Then it would eventually work. Rather confusing. Overall: very nice. Convenient location!

Nice, clean place with modern facilities. Due to the sunny weather, the room was very hot the day we checked in, but after opening the window vents it cooled off, and as the weather cooled during the week, it was not an issue. Otherwise, a nice stay in a convenient to Rainbow street location.

Clean space, and good distance to the city. However, for the high price paid, the lack of amenities (no secure luggage storage), broken fan (only windows were propped open) made the stay less than satisfactory and the hallways are as hot as a furnace. The neighbourhood is NOT quiet at night, there are lots of vehicles, people talking and laughing beyond midnight. Bathrooms are dim and the coffee machine is not stocked. There is little communication about how they can help you during your stay.
