Melrose Cottage is within a short stroll from the high street and harbour of the small, friendly, fishing town of Amble. This lovely terraced house is perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring the area. Offering comfortable accommodation, downstairs the living/dining room is light and airy, with a wood burner set within an impressive inglenook fireplace. From the living/dining room brings you into a designer kitchen with all the necessary integrated appliances you’ll need; the designated chef will delight in this high quality kitchen, perfect for rustling up a good hearty meal. Enjoy some evening sun on the small enclosed patio; a nice spot for some alfresco dining and a glass of bubbly. Upstairs you will find a great king size room, with a wall mounted Smart TV, offering all your home comforts. The second bedroom is a good size twin room, again offering a wall mounted smart TV. Both rooms have been finished to an extremely high standard, allowing for a restful night’s sleep. Awake feeling refreshed and start the day with an invigorating shower; the shower room boasts uniqueness and has some very impressive finishes.
Start your adventure in Amble, the seaside town resting on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which includes the Heritage Coast and some of the most unspoilt beaches in England. Known as the friendliest port, a warm welcome awaits - you can simply park your car and enjoy everything from the doorstep within a short stroll. Wander down to the harbour and see the fishing boats at work, stroll along to the marina and small beach, where you will find some pretty beach huts that you can rent for a few pounds from the harbour master. Around the harbour’s edge there are some great fish restaurants to try and a varied selection of other eateries, coffee shops and ice cream shop within the town. The historic village of Warkworth is only 2 miles away, which is a lovely walk. A popular place to visit, with its fabulous castle dominating the skyline, a selection of good pubs, bespoke shops and galleries and pretty riverside walks. The beach is nearby and a fabulous place to go and walk. The market town of Alnwick, with its cobbled streets and famous castle, is a 15-minute drive away. The beautiful Alnwick Gardens, are worth a visit. Here you will find the world’s largest treehouse restaurant, beautiful displays and cascading waterfall. Explore further north on the Heritage Coast and you will come to the seaside village of Seahouses with its beautiful beach and selection of pubs, shops and fish restaurants. You can take a boat trip from here to the Farne islands and Holy Island. Just a short distance from here is the picture postcard village of Bamburgh with little tea shops and restaurants, a magnificent castle and amazing beach walks.
