Drumla Cottage is an accessible hideaway overlooking Kildonan, offering uninterrupted views of Ailsa Craig and Pladda Lighthouse. Kildonan is located at the south end of the Island. The property is a 10-minute walk from the sandy Kildonan shore, which offers delights for children, geologists, and nature lovers. The beaches, the local hotel with public bar and restaurant are all just a short walk away.

For those of you who love wildlife, Kildonan has its own seal colony, otters, buzzards, and the odd pod of dolphins are not unheard of. Located within 1 mile is a magical forest walk around Eas Mor waterfall, which also leads to Loch Garbad. You are also within walking distance of the Forestry walk to Glenashdale Falls and the Giant’s Graves. One of the most southerly of the Scottish Isles, Arran encapsulates the grandeur and majesty of Scotland, but all packaged within an accessible area 19 miles long by 10 miles wide.

The island has a number of pretty villages on Arran’s stunning coastline which are contrasted by a rugged and mountainous interior in the north. For outdoor lovers, Arran offers mountain biking,
paragliding, canyoning, sea kayaking, scrambling and more; you can even book an island safari! The Isle of Arran is a place where you can find a little bit of everything you’d ever want from a Scottish island; an ever-changing coastline, dramatic mountain peaks, sheltered beaches, verdant forests, great cultural festivals and a wealth of tasty local produce. A holiday on Arran packs in a lot of flavour - taste your way around the island as you try creamy cheeses, refreshing beers, traditional oatcakes, tempting chocolates and delicious ice cream. Book a tour at the Arran Distillery to discover the secrets behind the distilling process before sampling a dram of malt whisky or the creamy liqueur Arran Gold.

For a unique experience, take a small ferry over to the Holy Isle and you will discover a friendly Buddhist community, where animals roam freely, including Saanen goats and Eriskay ponies. Lamlash Bay also offers sea kayaking and powerboat trips, so you can explore the bay at your own pace. This is a natural paradise with sightings of red squirrels, golden eagles, red deer, otters, and seals.
