About this property

Cae Tudur, gorgeous rural retreat near Barmouth

Cae Tudur is a beautiful, original stone cottage nestling amongst acres of pastureland and mature woodland high above the stunning Mawddach estuary, within Snowdonia National Park. With immediate access to the Rhinog mountains, this unique 2-bedroom rural retreat is an oasis of calm.

Fully refurbished in 2022, the cottage has been a labour of love for the owners, evident from the tasteful homely touches that they have added. It features original oak beams and a large inglenook fireplace, a wood-burning stove, a brand-new fitted kitchen and a dining area. Double glazing and fixed ECO electric heaters. The two lovely bedrooms, sleep 4 guests and have picturesque views. Good Wi-Fi via fibre broadband.

The woodland garden and terrace are ideal for fresco dining. With no light pollution, this is a great place for stargazing.

Kitchen:
With matt grey Shaker style units and woodblock worktops, ceramic hob, integrated single oven/grill, extractor fan, microwave, toaster, integrated dishwasher, ample storage, fridge, and fridge freezer. Breakfast bar with stools, wood dining table with 4 chairs.

Sitting room:
Wood-burning stove set in inglenook fireplace.
SMART TV, Blue Ray/DVDs, Bluetooth speaker, and books.
2 seater leather Chesterfield sofa, 2 x teal blue velvet armchairs, and coffee table.

Bedroom 1:
Double bed with velvet headboard, 2 X bedside tables, period dressing table, and single wardrobe. Dormer and Velux window and carpeted floor.

Bedroom 2:
Two single beds with bedside cupboard, double wardrobe, period washstand Dormer and Velux window, and carpeted floor.

Family shower room:
WC, sink with mirror, glass screened walk-in shower with electric shower.

OUTSIDE:

Woodland Garden:

A wonderful space to explore and enjoy, including a small patio area with a bistro set and a BBQ.

Please note the garden is wild and as such there may be trip hazards such as roots.

Additional info:

Prices inclusive of electricity, bedding and towels. Please bring your own beach towels.

We have a cot and highchair for a baby if needed.

Private parking for up to 3 vehicles to the side of the cottage. The farmer has access through the gated area along the track. The road to the cottage is a public single-track tarmac road for approximately 2 miles with passing places. At some points, there are dry stone walls on either side. Small low-powered cars will struggle on the inclines, so we only recommend that you bring a family-size car or 4 X 4. Vans and mini buses are not suitable, due to the narrowness of the road. We DONT recommend that you arrange supermarket deliveries unless you arrange to meet them at the bottom of the road or in Barmouth, just 2.1 miles away from the turn-off. The final approach is a well-maintained fairly level private graveled track. NB: Bring sturdy walking boots or wellies and torches.

Short breaks when available: Monday- Friday 4 nights and Friday-Monday 3 nights.

Changeover day is FRIDAY in the main season.

Sorry NO pets, due to close proximity to grazing sheep.

It is the guest's responsibility to insure against any losses that may occur should the need to cancel their holiday arise.

Charging of electric cars.

Some of our properties are fitted with professionally installed and connected EVCPs (Electric Vehicle Charging Points) for the safe charging of electric cars. The use of an extension lead into a property that is plugged into a 3-pin domestic supply is strictly prohibited, due to the risk of fire by overloading the domestic electric circuit. Additionally, our owner's home insurance may be invalid if a fire was to be caused by such an act. We suggest that guests with EV's ensure that they are aware of the local charging stations before they book with us.
