About this property

Duck Cottage - Brecon Canal

Duck Cottage is a cosy house sat on the Brecon – Monmouth Canal. The property is shared with the duck squatters who frequent the garden. The property is perfectly positioned within Brecon town and all bedrooms have a canal view. Ideally situated with several local pubs, restaurants and supermarkets nearby (all within walking distance) while also centrally located for outdoor activities nearby on the canal and within the Brecon Beacons Park.

The space
The property itself is recently refurbished and holds a wonderful location along the Brecon Canal. It is a perfect base for exploring the area with canal walking and cycling on your doorstep or the Beacons and Black Mountains all a very short drive away.

Garden:
The main draw of the property is the South facing garden overlooking the canal. It is a real sun trap and a great place to sit in the evenings watching the narrowboats and ducks pass by or star gazing at night. There is a 6 person bench for dining and also a small table and chairs

Kitchen:
There is a large kitchen looking down onto the canal with a dining table to seat 6. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is also a small Smart TV.

Living room:
A cosy living room that seats 6. There is a wood burner for keeping cosy in the colder months. We supply limited wood on arrival. There is a 43 inch smart TV

Master Bedroom:
This bedroom contains a cosy superking bed and has partial views of the canal. Wardrobe and draws.

Double bedroom:
A small cosy bedroom with a full-size double overlooking the canal. Wardrobe and draws. There is a 40 inch smart TV.

Bunk Bedroom:
Bunk beds with a great view overlooking the canal. Wardrobe.

Bathroom:
Downstairs WC. Compact bathroom upstairs containing WC a bath and electric shower.

Hallway and Porch:
A small porch and hallway with useful space for storage, dirty shoes or dog basket etc.

Guest access
Please note that parking outside the property is difficult due to access being very narrow. We recommend parking on the nearby main road (2 minutes walk) or alternatively a pay and display carpark 5 minutes walk away (£4 per day, but we have never needed to use it).
Other things to note
Children should be supervised in the garden as there is no barrier to the canal water. Also supervision should be given if using the log burner, it can get very hot.

Pets are welcome (up-to 2) but please keep downstairs only, we do not allow pets in the bedrooms. We also have several ducks that frequent the garden so please do not leave unsupervised.

We are not equipped for charging electric vehicles and we prohibit charging from the house mains.
