About this property

Spacious nature retreat w fruit orchard & mountain views, near downtown Pasadena

Nature meets convenience! Nestled in the foothills of Angeles Crest Forest, just a 5-min drive to shopping, dining, and old town Pasadena. Close to Huntington Library, CalTech & JPL and so many beautiful sites. Our spacious 1-bedroom suite on the first floor offers a private entrance and easy parking, full kitchen, serene surroundings with trees, mountain views & hiking trails. Our place is the perfect respite from the hustle-bustle of LA without getting too far away from it all.
Please note: this is a first floor property and we live on the second floor. You may hear footsteps from time to time - especially in the mornings and evenings.
This idyllic retreat boasts a tree-lined private driveway and a covered carport. Inside, you'll find a comfortable living area, a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, and an elegant white marble dining table. The charming living area features a teak daybed/sofa, while the bathroom offers a spacious tiled shower stall with built-in seating. The cozy bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized captain's bed, two armoires, and two dressers.

Neighborhood:
Located close to the foothills of the Sierra Madre in a hidden gem of a neighborhood called Pasadena Glen - with a single road in and out. The neighborhood and community is peaceful, neighborly, nature-loving and beautiful. It feels quite rural and is very walkable and bikeable ( as long as you don't mind some hills).

In about a 5-minute drive, you can be at shops, restaurants, grocery stores and other amenities. We are also about 5 minutes from the metro station. We are walking distance from the Rose Parade and just a quick drive to the Rose Bowl.

Our place is also close to the Huntington Library, Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL), California Institute Of Technology (CALTECH), Pasadena City College, and Huntington Hospital and is perfect for researchers, fellowships and residencies.

Host profile image
I am a SoCal area native and have lived in Pasadena for about 5 years with my husband, Antony, and two children. We are both in creative fields - he is in tv animation and I am a designer. We are generally pretty quiet and love it up here in nature!

Why they chose this property

Our neighborhood is a real community and allows our family to experience a countryside atmosphere with a lot of nature while ensuring that we don't have to endure lengthy commutes for work, art, culture, or entertainment.

What makes this property unique

We love the unexpected peace as well as the slightly wild nature of the place, with wildlife including birds of prey like owls, and hawks, and other animals like coyotes, black bears, bobcats, and even cougars. We love the shaded coolness we get even in the heat of LA summers due to the mature tree cover. Our home has an on-property fruit orchard with peaches, plums, apricot, citrus, grapes, mango, avocado, apples, persimmon, figs, and more! However, museums, theaters and culture are literally a few minutes down the road
