About the host
Hosted by Ann Schoew
My husband and I have moved around. We've lived on small islands and in big cities. We are now settled in my hometown of Lynchburg, Va. We both work remotely from our home in Diamond Hill Historic District and love being outdoors (preferably hiking, paddling or peddling).
Why they chose this property
We love the Diamond Hill Historic District because it's charming and quiet but also right downtown.
In addition to hosting a rental house in Diamond Hill, our home is also in this neighborhood. We love architecture. The streets of this neighborhood are full of incredible turn-of-the-century homes, in various states of renovation, and the sidewalks are made of brick and stone. It's easy to walk to downtown dinning, drop by the Saturday morning farmer's market, or bike the James River Heritage Trail across the river for sunrise.

What makes this property unique
Apricot House was build in 1904. It has been newly renovated with thoughtful, modern updates, while offering a great deal of historic charm. It's an uncluttered, minimal space that feels mellow and refined. Comfortable for a short or long-term stay. An ideal choice if you're looking for a downtown location with privacy and outdoor space, need some dedicated working spaces, or if you love historic architecture.
