Heart of Downtown - Front/Market Street

Momentum loft is a second floor condo in heart of downtown Wilmington. Located in the busy intersection of Front and Market Street, the condo is footsteps away from shopping, dining, entertainment and attractions. Our location is a convenient stroll down the Riverwalk to Live Oak Bank Pavilion, Wilmington Convention Center and downtown wedding venues.
This section of Front Street is full of retail and restaurants with an Irish Pub next door. Our guests can expect the usual city noise. There are no CLUBS on this section of the block that plays loud BASS until 2pm. The Pub next door does play tolerable music at a tolerable level until 2pm. The bedroom is in the back of the unit and surrounded by thick brick walls that allow for a good night sleep!
The loft comes with 2 foam surfboards. Dont hesitate to come downstairs and ask the owner about private surf lessons.

Excellent spot in the heart of downtown! Great local scene with tons or great restaurants and bars in the Historic District and along the River Walk! All walkable. Great location with a great host!

Overall great experience!
Hunter, was a great host he actually contacted us when we were in on our way there that we could check in early that was not a problem. The location was amazing right in the heart of downtown. Really clean and cool place. 5 star!! We will be staying again. The distillery was awesome. You have to check it out.!!!!

If you want to explore historic Wilmington, it’s the perfect place you can walk everywhere. Great food great drink great entertainment anll super close. unfortunately I was there for a professional conference and couldn’t enjoy Downtown Wilmington.

Awesome location!
We had a great stay! You can not beat this location if you are looking to hang out downtown. Room was clean & check in was easy. This will be the only place we stay in Wilmington from now on! The owner also runs a distillery so make sure to stop by and check it out!

Highly recommend. Hunter is a great host, location is perfect and in the middle of everything and the apartment itself is really cute and has everything you could possibly need for a great weekend. Will definitely stay again!

Why they chose this property

I opened my Surf and Skate boutique (Momentum) in this building in 2008. The owner of the building at the time in 2008 also owned several other buildings downtown and took a liking to my wife and I after being good tenants. They had lived in the unit we rent when they first moved to Wilmington. This was the first building he bought and he sold it to my wife and I in 2011 for an amazing deal. We promised to continue to make downtown a better place and not flip the building on the short term.
We originally had our surfboard gallery upstairs when we took possession of the building. If you google Momentum Surf Shop Wilmington, there is a pic of the Surfboard gallery as it looked in 2009.
We converted it back into an apartment in 2010 and started renting nightly. We have the best repeat guests!!!

What makes this property unique

We are in the middle of the hustle and bustle. If you really want to experience downtown Wilmington, be our guest! Open the windows in the Spring and Fall and let the air in!
