I am the official Innkeeper of the Belvedere & Scoundrel's Inns. Prior to this, I was a social worker. Over the years, I ran numerous not-for-profit organizations: mental health domestic violence and child welfare organizations in Chicago, Iowa, Indiana & Missouri. I worked for The United Way and The Chapin Hall Center for Children at the University of Chicago.
In November of 2014, I retired to open the Belvedere Inn, which is the fulfillment of a dream interrupted. In 1991, I started a tiny B & B in Rock Island, Illinois. Only 5 months later I married my husband, Bob, who brought with him two children, Xoe & Nate, aged 5 & 7. As a result, that B & B was fully occupied for about a twelve year stretch.
In 2008, Bob and I moved to Hannibal with the express purpose of buying a huge, historic, endangered property that would become the location for his school and the Inn. In 2015 we opened the Belvedere Inn and in 2020 opened Scoundrel's and The Apartment.

I was going to tell you all about my husband Bob, but I just Googled him and there are over 100,000 results. ! I’m not sure what to say—–maybe you should just Google him too. Bob has been a preservation artisan and social policy expert for 40 years. The Inns would not exist without his massive knowledge and hands-on preservation mastery.
Since 2008, Bob has operated The Belvedere School for Hands-On Preservation which is dedicated to teaching the historic preservation trades to adult students from all over.
We are both involved in the Community. We belong to the Hannibal Chamber of Commerce, Hannibal Rotary, Historic Hannibal Marketing Committee, Bluff City Theater, & The Hannibal Arts Council. I am on the Board of the Bed & Breakfast Inns of Missouri and help out with Douglas Community Services in whatever capacity they like!
Bob & I are thrilled to be able to share our lovely accommodations with you and hope you will consider it your home away from home.

Why they chose this property
We chose the old part of Hannibal because it is close to The Mighty Mississippi and all the fantastic shops, museums, art galleries and tourist activities in this wonderful historic town!
What makes this property unique
Our property is undoubtedly one of the oldest still standing in Hannibal - the first part of which was built in the 1830's and 1840's and still retains it's old world charm with all the modern conveniences and brand new electrical, HVAC & plumbing systems!
