Owners note: From my personal perspective, this cabin is a escape from the hustle bustle everyday world. Thats what it is for me.
I recommend enjoying a evening fire at the fire pit down by the lake. Roast some marsh mellows while enjoying the crackling of the fire. There is ample firewood stacked near by. You might bring a hatchet to split some kindling to make for easier fire starting. If its too warm for that. May I suggest sitting on the front porch over looking the lake. At night, if you are very still and all the exterior lights are off, you most likely will see a herd of deer pass through. After a bit a fox might visit on his way about his business. Listen closely and you will hear a screech owl preparing for it's nightly hunt. Off in the distance you will hear the occasional whine of a boat motor as a fisherman passes by. Some nights, off on the ridge, you will hear the coyotes yelping. See if you can identify the numerous water fowl hunting around the lake shores. Of course there are the usual crickets and frogs singing their nightly songs. If you are very, very lucky, just maybe you might see a black bear meander through. Or just take time to enjoy the night sky.

If you are in the mood for some soft music while sitting on the porch. Go down to the bar area and turn on the Denon amplifier, it should be set on zone 2 (the outside speakers) connect via blue tooth to your favorite playlist. While you are in the bar area, whip up some margaritas, you supply the alcohol and mix, in the provided margarita maker. For me its Jimmy Buffett and Margaritas.
If you are needing a relaxing getaway, this is it. Pull up a rock chair and just let it be.

I will consider renting the cabin for up to 3 months at a time in the off season, November through February. If you are a traveling nurse, here on a temporary assignment, needing somewhere quite to meditate and work stuff out or serenity to work on your novel. Contact me. I might can be more flexible.

Lastly, if you have a boat or jetski you want to bring, do so. I have a ramp on site. Launching a jetski is no problem. If you are really good backing a trailer, you can launch up to a 19' boat on site. If you aren't that confident in your backing skills you can go a few miles to Pickens bridge and launch there. You can drop your trailer above the fire pit on site. No one will bother it. You can tie your boat to my dock. One thing though, I get the covered slot for my boat. If you do have a boat, I suggest you cruise down to Lakeview Marina and sit on the outdoor patio over looking the lake, order a cheese burger and Steveweiser and enjoy the outdoor band they have on weekend evenings. Be aware, TWRA will patrol the lake so don't over indulge.

The lake is at full pool from approx. April 28th till Sept. 4. So. before April 28th and after Sept 4th my dock isn't 100% accessible. Check with me if you are unsure. I am here to help.

I am a General Contractor. I build houses. I am a native to the East Tennessee area.

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood is filled with great people, quality people, hard working, honest folks. My dad started this cabin in 2015. Dad liked to be called "Pap". Pap had the original vision. He saw the potential of the vacant lot that no one else saw. His picture hangs over the bar as a tribute to him. Its a picture of him with a car salesman the day he bought his 1987 ElCamino. He loved that thing, he still owned it the day he died. My sister still has it.
Anyway shortly after dad started the cabin he fell ill. In 2017 he passed. So, in 2021 I renewed all the permits and finished the cabin. My family enjoys it on a regular bases, holidays, birthdays, Thanksgiving mostly. It is very special to us. Now we have opened it up to others to enjoy.

I will consider renting the cabin for up to 3 months at a time in the off season, November through February. If you are a traveling nurse, here on a temporary assignment, needing somewhere quite to meditate or serenity to work on your novel. Contact me. I might can be more flexible.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is hand crafted. I mean every detail. My trim carpenter fitted every piece. If you look closely at the exterior siding, notice everything is on a 10 degree bevel. Thats the level of detail you get when a trim carpenter hangs siding. Most will never notice it, but thats the way it was done in the old days.
