Villa in Jursici, Nr. Pula, Istria, Croatia - Excellently placed for exploring or to just enjoy a relaxed holiday in Istria.
About Linda Plain
Hi, my name is Linda, my husband Graham and I have been married for 16 years and we have 2 children, aged 10 and 12. We decided to buy Villa Cassonni a few years ago, whilst the development was still being built, we wanted a home from home but with great weather and in a lovely location. I am half Croatian and wanted the children to understand a little of my mother's birthplace. We love our time in Istria whether we are looking for deserted beaches or discovering a new wine we find it the perfect place to unwind and have quality family time.
Linda Plain purchased this Villa in 2008
Why Linda Plain chose Svetvinčenat
We wanted a home from home to enjoy during the school holidays. We love the fact that in Istria you are never far from the beach, and although there are no sandy beaches as such, the sea is clear and clean and the beaches have great facilities. The food in Istria is fresh, and prepared with love. You can stop and buy fresh produce, wine and olive oil from people's front doors. The restaurants and bars are family friendly so if we fancy a night free of cooking there is always somewhere new to try. We love eating out but eating in is our real passion, choosing fresh market produce then cooking and eating while we watch the sun set is heaven for us! Cooking on holiday is never a chore.
What makes this Villa unique
We have our own swimming pool for your use, and a shared tennis court. We have furnished the house to reflect the fact that this is our home, we hope we have everything you could need on holiday, including board games, films, books and music for family fun. There is a cool bag which would be perfect to use on a day out to the beach. Our nearest beach is 8km away at Fazana, it has recently had a makeover and the addition of a chilled out beach bar. We have a management agent, Dave, who is based locally. He will meet you at the property when you arrive to hand over keys, and let you know how the house works! If you have any issues whilst on holiday he will be able to assist you.

Stayed at the Villa with a group of friends and what a fantastic time we had! The place itself is only a short drive from the airport - just dar enough to feel 'away from the town'; is kitted out perfectly for a group and is sufficiently spacious to allow privacy if needed even though there were six of us.
The large pool with a most elegant inflatable swan(that can accommodate four and speaks fluent Croatian, apparently) was ideal for refreshing dips after tiring days of sampling the region's fin e wines, biat trips to the local islands, larking about in the Pula old townand general mingling with the warm, himorous and self-deprecating Croatian people.
Although we didnt use it much the idea of swanning around on the tennis court in flannels appealed, monentarily(rackets and balls at the villa).
A highlight was definitely the BBQs by the pool, with fresh fish, meat and locally grown fruit and vegetables at (exceptional prices) as well as trying out the fantastic local olive oils.
Cannot reccommend it high enough and already making plans to return - and perhsps visit the breathtaking looking Plitvice Lakes.
One thing to be wary of - Croatian Honey Grappa! Its dangerous.
villa with private pool
Villa as described on website. Well equipped and spacious villa. Lovely pool and patio. The tennis courts close to villa. Pula close by with lovely veg, fish and bread/pastry market. Sea close by for great seimming. Motorway gives easy access to some lovely towns for sightseeing and swimming. Kids enjoyed aquapark. Fantastic resturant in Vodjnan, be sure to get a table on the terrace. Linda the owner was very friendly and helpful with all queries. Their manager Dave was on hand to offer tips on trips. Would definitely recommend this villa if you want to explore Istria.
Home away from Home
This villa is lovely, well equipped, furnished and decorated to an excellent standard. The villa is in a peaceful situation and is well maintained and clean and provided everything necessary to make our stay comfortable - a home away from home. The photos and description of the villa on the website is accurate. We enjoyed our two week holiday here. Our party of two adults and two children aged 9 and 5 for the first week and the second week we were joined by our good friends with their two children of similar age to ours. Children and adults alike enjoyed the swimming pool which is a great size for splashing about and games as are the grounds. The villa is spacious and provides privacy for all and was well suited for a family or two to share. For the family that likes peace and quiet but like to get about independently and explore this is an ideal villa and well situated for sightseeing and beaches and popping out for provisions. We enjoyed cooking local produce and drinking local wine and trying other numerous local spirits and aperitifs such as honey brandy and other various Croatian grappa - a little too much perhaps! Barbecuing and eating outside in the balmy evenings looking up at starlit clear skies from the villa was bliss. We also enjoyed eating out at local restaurants which were varied and very reasonable priced as is the local wine. There was plenty to do and keep everyone entertained over the two weeks - a great mix of chilling out at the villa mixed with sightseeing to villages, beaches and towns. The weather was glorious throughout except for a day or two where the temperature dropped slightly and brought rain - no problem as we had this lovely villa to cosy up in. The "further details" under the "location" tab on the property page gives a good over view of what the local area offers. The owners Linda and Graham were a pleasure to deal with and promptly communicated with us throughout. The local contact Dave was friendly and introduced us to the house and has very good local knowledge. Our first visit to Croatia and we found Istria to be a fantastic place to explore. We would definitely recommend the area and this villa to our friends and family. We think whether high summer or the cooler months - this villa and the area are well worth visiting. We hope to return one day...
