Golden Bay is comfortable, refined family accomodation beside all the major fisheries and some of the best scenery In the West of Ireland. Beaches / lakes / rivers & mountains to be explored. Good restaurants & pubs close by, more detail www.goldenbayfishings.com , Non fishing families equally welcome.

Other activities locally include trekking on horseback through woods close to Lough Corrib with Tom C at Ashford. Falconry , clay pigeon shooting , paddle boarding etc .

Golden Bay Fishings is a comfortable fishing lodge sheltering in the lee of the Maumturk Mountains at the toe of Ireland’s Joyce country. The mighty Lough Corrib is a 5 minute walk down the avenue – literally!

The lodge is over 5000 square feet, well appointed with 4 bedrooms, 2 luxury bathrooms, a large kitchens and 6 acres of wild woodland gardens – as one would expect the house is supplied with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezers, tumble driers etc. Apart from the open fire, there is under floor heating and an AGA for cooking. There is a second kitchen, should you need it or have staff, this can be useful with special request.
A full guided or ghillied game fishing service is available along with tuition for new entrants to the sport. For those not fishing there is magnificent mountain scenery to enjoy, powder white sand beaches to visit along with excursions to Galway city. There are also a number of art galleries worth visiting in the county.

In nearby villages there are very good fish dealers providing a broad range of fresh sea and shell fish as well as food emporiums and butchers. If you wish to go out to a restaurant there is a recommended list of special places to try in the house.

Additionally we can provide on request two sets of golf clubs for those who want a day off fishing!
