About this property

In the old historical town of Rethymno,Amaryllis Luxury Home with a private pool

Amaryllis Luxury home is apart of a historical boutique complex comprising of 3 villas. Its origins date back to the Venetian period (1201-1669) as its estimate time of built is in the late 16th-beginning of the 17th century when Crete was occupied by the Venetians. It was originally a castle house that probably belonged to a nobleman-might we say the Venetian governor.
After the occupation of Crete by the Ottomans in the year 1669, the house was inhibited by the Turks. Thus, its Venetian architecture bares elements of the Ottoman architecture.Part of the building facing to the south has been fully preserved as it was initially originated by the Venetians; also, its Venetian courtyard with the three pillars and a unique octagon artistic fountain as it is the only one saved among the three that existed on the island of Crete.

Casa Vitae Luxury Homes have now got 3 fully renovated, private, spacious and airy luxurious Villas, which maintain the historical Venetian and Ottoman styles of their epoch.Amaryllis Luxury Home - Villa is located in the heart of the old town of Rethymno, at a walking distance from the beach, from all major archaeological sites and from all restaurants and shopping areas. Amaryllis Villa is suitable for couples, honeymooners and family's since it provides luxury facilities and the private pool area and it is a walking distance from whatever one should need to have a great holiday in Crete.

Our town Rethymno, is the located in the center of the island of Crete, which means that it is the best location to choose if exploring is what a guest would like to do on there holiday.

Why they chose this property

I highly recommend this property since a grew up and lived with my family there. As a child we would gather with all the other children from the neighborhood and play in the historical alleys of the old town. The property has belonged to the Polyzos family ever since 1924. I have renovated the property in to 3 Luxury Houses - Villas with great love and respect to the property's history. Visitors will enjoy all modern facilities but will still feel and see the history of the building.

What makes this property unique

This historical building exists from the 1700. Our family bought the property from the Ottoman Ali Karpouzakis the year 1924. Ever since we have cared for our property with love and respect to its history. The building has been declared as a historical heritage of Rethymno town.
